What's OKPE ? 🤔🤔
Okpei is a local Nigerian seasoning made from Castor seeds that is used in major Nigerian Local dishes to boost the food aroma and taste.

Looks good 😊 delicious 🤤 😋
Tasted even better
Thank you for this effortless yet delicious recipe ❤
This is nice...no seasoning cubes like Maggi just Okpe (local Igbo seasoning made from locust beans). This is the way soup is made. You don't need all these online chefs telling you to stuff all kinds of protein in one pot of soup. If the client was not particular about just beef only, just a little fish like stockfish for instance, would have been ok, not with all the so many kinds of meat and fish. Don't know where online chefs get those kind of recipes from. Their mothers and our mothers didn't cook that way, and practically all Nigerians don't.
The chicken stock had all the seasoning in it
While it's nice to remain traditional, there's also nothing wrong with trying new things. That's how new recipes are created
Poor me cooking only egusi without meat or fish. Yet these chefs showing me how to use kpomo, fish and meat
Chef please, I want something simple 😂
Do u know if it was added in the proteins???

Am d selective type too.
Yummy soup.
He is not allergic and I communicated this to him in a previous order and he seemed fine with it. He eats chicken but prefers beef in Egusi soup.

This was fast and easy to follow. I watched it once and girrrrrrl! It was a murder scene in the kitchen. No blood though, just egusi. 😂
Love that ❤️
Yummy 🤤
Please do you make your egusi paste with cold or hot water?
Either works
i wish i knew what egusi is ...really want to eat this
Egusi is melon seed
Wait what you add Birch?
Did you say shit it out cause I need some ❤
U ship I’ll be ordering
No I don’t
i googled chinese guy cooking egusi, well i didn't see anybody it's a nigerian ting ❤👍
You should be happy that that Chinese guy was embracing Nigerian culture rather than making about the ethnicity 👍🏿👍🏿
You blended crayfish, pepper, and what? Also what greens did you put in?
It’s Okpei and it’s made from castor oil seeds. It’s a local seasoning and adds a robust flavor to soups and stews.
The green is Ugu leave also called pumpkin leaves
@@chetasworld1 Thnx
I had to google Okpei. Be aware that in the market It's also known as Iru or Ogiri or Dawadawa.
Do you have to add crayfish.. allergic to shrimp?
You can skip it
Stop frying egusi. Cook with meat stock it's more yummier.
For you
For you
This generation dey cook nonsense 😢 come and learn from me.
you don't know what your talking about
I'll be trying this soon. May you explain how you did the pepper blend with the crayfish?
I blended crayfish, fresh pepper and Okpei (Okpei is a dark-brown local seasoning that originated in the Igbo region of Nigeria).
@@chetasworld1 thank you!
😍😍😍😍👍👍👍😋😋😋🤗
❤❤❤❤❤❤
That's my method, except for the pepper goes in first with the oil.
Can you make it mild? Or is not spicy?
You can always adjust your spice level to your preference
Can I know the English name for this okpe cus its hard to find it here in USA Stores
African Locust Beans
Cheta I think you better go on with cooking blogging
Sure!
What’s a good substitute for the crayfish? I don’t eat shellfish. Thank you!
You can completely take it out
Where is download here
Could you share the quantities and which greens you used etc?

😂😂😂😂😂😂
Did you even put spices?
You watched the video so you tell me
❤❤❤Miamiam❤❤
is there are recope for this anywhere? like the measurements and the time eacj item needs to cook??
Yes please check the description box.
How healthy is the palm oil? Can we use refined vegetable oil instead?
Palm oil adds a unique flavor so I recommend you stick with it
Is it spicy? Like it will burn my mouth? I'm curious
The spice level is dependent on the quantity of pepper you choose to add, you can always add little if you don’t want it spicy
@chetasworld1 just tried it. 2/10. Fufu was bland and the egusi tasted like spinach and spicy
@@MoMo-ru3vtRest assured you didn’t make it well
Do we need to evaporate all the liquid? And just keep tje egusi and the palm oil?
Yes, the water from the paste should dry
