  • New Hayter Harrier 41 vs
    self-propelled variable speed Harrier 41.
This is a 41 cm / 16 inch Hayter lawn mower with self-propelled variable speed transmission and a rear roller ideal for striped lawns.
The two-piece, ribbed rear roller included with the Harrier 41 means you can achieve superb stripes with superior traction and manoeuvrability with no turf marking when turning. The incorporation of a Trim Side means you can cut right to the edge of borders or walls, leaving less to trim afterwards. The cutting height can be selected from seven between 13 and 60 mm with a single lever.
Your Harrier 41 mower comes with a five year conditional domestic warranty, as well as a lifetime warranty against engine crank-shaft bending. This is typical of this British brand trusted by countless gardeners. Along the same lines, this model uses a Briggs & Stratton 625E Series 150cc engine, again another trusted brand known for providing reliable power. The cutter deck is made of aluminium and again has a lifetime warranty, so this really is a mower you can trust.
When running as a collector, the 60 litre grass bag is easy to lift through the handlebars to empty or remove (so that the mower can be used in rear discharge mode). The handlebars can also be folded to save space when storing the machine. As this is an Autodrive model, it has variable speed control, adjustable between 2.2 and 3.4 mph to suit you and your operating conditions.
An Easy-Wash system is also included, offering a quick and simple way to clean the cutting chamber, while the Vari-Pitch cutting technology gives optimum performance even in long grass, with the cutter deck automatically adjusted to provide increased airflow.

Good video. Wonder if you could offer some advice. I am trying to decide whether I should buy the Hayter Harrier 41 Push or the VS OR ES versions. I have a small flat front lawn that’s oddly shaped because of a border. My back lawn is a small medium size rectangular lawn with a slight slope running from right to left.
Is there any reason, including the quality of the cut, as to why I shouldn’t buy the push version. Would really appreciate your thoughts.

Hi William,if it comes down to cost get hayter sprit 41 Sp (£500) I have a review video on this model also.
I personally would always get self propelled I’ve used many push lawnmowers over the years it just makes it so more enjoyable and easy to cut.I would recommend harrier vs easy to start light weight adjustable speed split roller (better for shaped lawns) good for medium to large lawns just cost more, never tried the harrier es version it does cost slightly more.I just like also say trying to get a new mower now is a lot harder do to limited stock levels due to COVID-19 effects on manufacturing industry so they say.

@@PaulTheGardener Thanks Paul. You are right re availability. The distributor only has the Harrier 41 Push or the ES. The VS is not in stock. It’s going to be a Harrier. Just depends on which makes the most sense. I will be using it in conjunction with an Atco Balmoral which is still doing the business. The Harrier is primarily for the longer winter cuts.

That's a big lawn for a 41" cut, I.m thinking 41" as it would be lighter and easier on small lawns. if you just have one mower, though
and you have some big lawns still undecided whether 41 or 48" cut.

It’s a great lawnmower I’ve used Honda HRD 536 on the same lawn and Hayter did it 20 minutes quicker it’s so much lighter and quicker to handle great for small medium lawns.
