Additionally, only the EVO Lite has the RYYB color sensor with its 50mp camera. The EVO Lite+ is the RGGB sensor according to the Autel's product description on their Autel Store.
I'm glad to see Autel has much better release with the Lite+, than they did with the Nano+. This seems to get all the big things right, camera, flight time, signal strength and good flight characteristics. Hopefully they can add the promised features via firmware upgrades by Spring, Summer at latest. Great 'user experience' video, and thanks for sharing.
Sean, great video as always. Don't fool yourself, you have the skills to sell commercially. Good presentation and level headed unbiased opinion. Your voice to music is off balance. Your soft spoken nature makes me turn up the volume to listen closely to what you say, but then I get SMACKED in the face with extremely loud ads.
Shawn, I've also noticed that your voice fades off as you speak. I think it might be an auto level setting on your audio that increases when you have a pause just before a sentence and then adjusts down as you continue. You just sound a little louder at the start of a sentence. Your videos are great by the way. I've been looking to upgrade from my Mavic Air which is now 4 years old. I like the higher resolution of the Lite and intrigued by the RYYB sensor and portrait rotation. I mainly do photos vs videos though. Do you have both the Lite and Lite+ to compare?
Great video as usual. I agree with you about the inappropriate name of 'Lite'. If a company is trying to gain market share against a dominant competitor, then introducing 2 variants of 2 models and not giving the larger/more powerful one a name that both emphasises its difference from the Nano and is descriptive of its abilities..........well that strikes me as a missed opportunity at best and potentially confusing to drone buyers who may need more of an incentive to pay enough attention. And as an Air 2S owner, the Lite + definitely appears to have the edge in both day and night filming/photography.
Thanks Sean you are a straight shooter and from what I have seen I totally agree with what you have found with the Lite+ Really strong lens clarity which is most important to me as I just do landscape stills. In comparison the Mavic 3 which has soft corners where the Lite+ appears sharp edge to edge. I have tested this via a user that had both drones. Right now with no geo fencing, more clarity and way less $ the Lite+ looks like a real competitor for the Mavic 3. So good to have some competition in the drone market place. Thanks for your review. Andrew
Some of the features your discussing are only available on the base Lite and not the +. The 4th axis/vertical video and I believe the RYYB are actually only on the base model.
Interesting, thanks for sharing that tip. That is very disappointing as a lite+ owner. It would make more sense for the higher end drone to have that feature
@@AirPhotographyI don't understand your comment, as in your video you stated the Lite+ can match the Mavic 3 in some instances. A disappointment? Yes & no, yes for missing the extra stop of dynamic range from the RYYB sensor but, no because some editing software is unable to work with RYYB files yet, eg: Adobe. Nonetheless I have both the Evo 2 Pro & Lite+, and the Lite+ camera gets better performance than the Evo 2 Pro camera, abeit the Lite+ doesn't have 10 bit log yet. The big area not highlighted on the Lite+ is flight time. The Lite+ matches the Mavic 3 on flight time performance, ie: ~35 minutes

I have not experienced that myself. I think if you turn on the anti-flicker that can alleviate that a little bit. I’ll test that out myself see if I can re-create that. It’s winter here in Canada right now so 99% of our days are overcast so I haven’t flown in the sun all that much
