Even for the 80s Standards.. the guitar sound was pretty beefed up! Love it! But this is how these sassy riffs of the 80s are supposed to sound, right? :)

Hi and so glad that u liked this lesson and thanks so much for checking out this video and for your kind words - most appreciated. At 12:15 I usually end on x-x-9-9-9-x because i hear alternating endings on that riff. Ending 1 is on 10, and ending 2 on 9. I've seen many ways to play this song and this sounds very close
Yes, It's exactly how it's played. 1st part ends on a F major(10th fret) triad, 2nd part ends on a E major triad. (9th fret). I'm just an amateur, but figured out everything but the solo 15 years ago from tablature, overnight. No RUclips tutorials. Lol It's amazing how many don't go over the early interlude section before the orchestra part, as it's a really beautiful transition.
Ur guitar sounds so so great obviously ur playing makes it like that but wow what a sound u have,I take it the Seymour Duncan pickups make a great deal for sound I have ibenez with them quantum pickups there alright but I'm definitely gonna get them changed for the Duncans but I dont no if I'd want to tackle installing them myself haha is it a big job changing them?
Hi there Paul and thank u so much for watching and for ur kind words and support - really appreciated. If you are not familiar with wiring picking and making soldering connections they I would suggest having an experienced authorized tech swap the pickups for you. Just my thoughts. Great song, and great instruction. May I ask what year and model your axe is? I bought a baby blue San Dimas about 7 years ago and it's my favorite guitar to play to this day. Thanks in advance.
Hello and thank you so much for checking out our lessons and for your kind words - really appreciated. I dont remember what year that guitar is that Dave is playing. I would like to play the "violin" part on my cello. any ideas on how I can go about playing, since the cello uses bass clef. I'm not super good but would really like any info on where to get the sheet music for that part, or how to change it to bass clef. I'm not sure how.
Its a relatively simple Em riff, should be simple enough to transpose the guitar tab, which is easy to find. I'm assuming since you wrote "violin" you know that it's not actually played with a violin bow. Lots of folks did assume that, even myself back then, but it was just for visual effect in the mtv vid.

Hi Conor and thank u for checking out this lesson - most appreciated. Man, 8:28 that was wrong figer (with all the respect) and Sykes plays it more simply!!!! I love your lessons, but do’nt teach it wrong, because there’s allot of young metalheads, who will harm themselves by this playing, but DUDE YOU ROCK

2:25 sorry man but I never add that part when i play this cover...never..and not needed...my cover band kills that song and if you ask me that's more of a "studio" part rather than a live play part...I just do 2,3,4
Honestly, this song is probably too much for beginners. One of the things that irks me about a lot of these song lessons is that the teacher is going too slow, as in they explain too much of what's going on. If you have to explain a G power chord, then a song of this nature is probably too much for the learner.

Good player but obvious that he didn't spend enough time learning this song correctly. There are plenty of other lessons on RUclips that teach the song correctly. Good player but needs to slow down and listen more closely to what he's attempting to teach.

Even for the 80s Standards.. the guitar sound was pretty beefed up! Love it! But this is how these sassy riffs of the 80s are supposed to sound, right? :)

Right on. Looks like I have a new project song to master.
Good lesson, but where'd you find that charvel?
Great lesson THANK YOU. what is your rig?
Lol
It's amazing how many don't go over the early interlude section before the orchestra part, as it's a really beautiful transition.
Another great lesson! Can you do "Give Me All Your Love Tonight"
Nice lesson!
Man what model Charvel is this? NICE!!
sick nasty dave riffin. love this dude
aprendi mucho con vos, gracias
I would like to play the "violin" part on my cello. any ideas on how I can go about playing, since the cello uses bass clef. I'm not super good but would really like any info on where to get the sheet music for that part, or how to change it to bass clef. I'm not sure how.
Its a relatively simple Em riff, should be simple enough to transpose the guitar tab, which is easy to find. I'm assuming since you wrote "violin" you know that it's not actually played with a violin bow. Lots of folks did assume that, even myself back then, but it was just for visual effect in the mtv vid.
cant decide on all down picks or alternate picking for a lot of these parts.
#masterpiece!😎🤟😈

What tuning are Whitesnake using now
Hi Conor and thank u for checking out this lesson - most appreciated. Im not sure what tuning Whitesnake is using on this song today as it seems they have been tuning down lower for some songs which I assume is to make it a little easier on the vocals. I appreciate this cover, but damn, didn’t know I needed to slam 2 triple shot espressos before learning it. (Currently buzzed around a bonfire trying to play it with a buddies surround sound lol)

Man, 8:28 that was wrong figer (with all the respect) and Sykes plays it more simply!!!! I love your lessons, but do’nt teach it wrong, because there’s allot of young metalheads, who will harm themselves by this playing, but DUDE YOU ROCK

Have you ever taken a moment to think that I’m Chyna someone different every single person because they have a different finger print?. Been playing since the 80s open network Bon Jovi and Cinderella so I’ve done it
Very nice playing but not the same as the original Tab.

Sykes plays the "strings part" differently. Check here: ruclips.net/video/L3uzjvsq5Nk/видео.html. It starts at 4:50
@3:28 Jake E Lee power chord
page is everywhere ;)
2:25 sorry man but I never add that part when i play this cover...never..and not needed...my cover band kills that song and if you ask me that's more of a "studio" part rather than a live play part...I just do 2,3,4
No one told you to necessarily do it lol
Going too fast for beginners, you'll lose them. Slow it down. Bad sounding distortion too. Heavy pick hand. Video time limit maybe?
Honestly, this song is probably too much for beginners. One of the things that irks me about a lot of these song lessons is that the teacher is going too slow, as in they explain too much of what's going on. If you have to explain a G power chord, then a song of this nature is probably too much for the learner.
Hello Corey Taylor
Na parte do solo não é isso não 🤔
Dang that Charvell sounds killer

Good vid but it isn't 100% correct.
agreed, it is not 100% correct
Heh, there isn't one "how to" solo on RUclips that is correct. John Sykes is a beast.
Hi can you post a vid with the correct version
Like watching a video on quantum mechanics😱 didnt understand anything
Anyone want to buy my les paul? Fuck it ! I give up being a rock star.
Decipher ur lesson.
Good player but obvious that he didn't spend enough time learning this song correctly. There are plenty of other lessons on RUclips that teach the song correctly. Good player but needs to slow down and listen more closely to what he's attempting to teach.
Thank you. Thought I was the only one who noticed.
absolutely not the way the solo is played.
Failure! You play by literature. Not ear.
Played wrong
ちがくね?てか、ちげー
the second riff it's with downstrokes and the slide off its bullshit
CRAP SOLO.....!!!
-_-
Stop talking and play the opening riff. Ur tangents about Zeppelin are useless. Just play.
