“Still Of The Night” proved to be one of Whitesnake’s most popular songs and to this day both the band and John Sykes play it as part of their live encore.
Who out there has had a chance to see Whitesnake live? I’d love to hear about your experience so please share with me in the comments!
The inspiration for the song apparently came from an old demo Coverdale found at his mom’s house that he had done with Richie Blackmore which would become the premise for the tune.
David said he took the song as far as he could and then let guitarist John Sykes do the rest by adding his guitar hero stuff to the track.

If Gaby was from the 70s she would've been considered a rock legend by now. Her voice is so powerful, unique, loud, distinctive and miles above anyone I've heard at the moment. I feel like rock and roll doesn't get the credit and exposure it deserves now. I wish it was the main genre in these times

I wish it was, too...unfortunately pop, hip-hop & today's technology has put paid to rock. You don't need to be a great singer when 1) you have Autotune, &/or 2) your audience doesn't expect or care if you carry a tune.
Lucky for us there are some great bands still around. Dorothy & TPR are two female-led ones that come to mind immediately.

Rudy Sarzo was killing on this song with Whitesnake during Monsters of Rock in 1990 and he is still doing it with Gabriela today. What a legend!

Most times when women cover men’s songs they sound lame. They never have the same power, and they sound, for lack of a better word.. feminine. Gabriella sings like no other woman I have ever heard, she has the power and the grit, she has it all.. absolutely astonishing! Somebody sign this girl to a record deal, QUICK‼️
David Coverdale in my opinion is one of the best singers in the rock genre maybe in any genre????? Gabriela absoloutly smashed this out of the park. The climbing belt made my hair stand on end. Probably the best Whitesnake cover I have ever heard. Amazing! I'm a huge Whitesnake fan. I am not a music or singing expert but to my ears everyone in this collab totally nailed EVERYTHING! \0/

Thinking on this more, you should do an album of her doing covers like this with this awesome collection of musicians. I would buy it and I don't "buy" cds anymore. If SHE was the lead singer of Whitesnake, I'd probably go and see them! With Rudi Sarzo on bass, this band is arguably closer to the real thing than the cover band Coverdale records and tours with now. Oh and it's not often you see a rock drummer using a piccolo snare. GREAT STUFF.

Gabriela is my favorite student Ken has worked with. I simply love her range, power, & raspy tone of her voice when performing heavy metal classics like Coverdale.Yes, I know all Ken students are amazing. I've been on a Coverdale fetish lately--Listening to everything from his early days in the mid 70's til most recent & "Ooh baby" this version is a masterpiece without a doubt. I really respect what you do Ken--Taking any singer to heights they had no idea they could even reach. Bravo!

Rarely does the cover meet and surpass the original. This is my favorite song since I was a kid and when I listen to Coverdale singing, I picture women like Gabriela. What a stunning woman and then you add musical perfection from all of them! Good Lord you guys are good. David would be proud.

I will listen to/watch literally ANYTHING that has Ken Tamplin's name associated with it, the man is one of rock's Best Hidden Treasures. If you only know him as a music/vocal teacher, then let me just say - his singing, guitar playing, and music writing chops are legendary with the select people who got to grow up experiencing them. Ken deserves every kudo he gets, and far more.
Holy Smokes..... this was incredible. Ive watched a lot of these collaborations where everyone is in different locations, but Ive seen nothing as good as this. The band was smokin, and those vocals were .... well, about as good as it gets. Wrap these guys up and send them out on tour, Im there!

I love that Gabriela didn't make an exact copy of David Coverdale's original performance, although I have no doubt that she could if she wanted to. It was great to hear her own interpretation of a song I know and love so much!

I saw Whitesnake in may 2022 in partille arena in Sweden on their farewell tour and it was my very first concert. It was kick ass and Coverdale is definitely one of, if not my favourite singer ever. Gabriela and the band is incredible!🤟🏻
