Perfect video! I was able to replace the ECB on our Kitchenaid diswasher for the cost of the part ($150) and no labor costs or time spent waiting for repair person. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros! I purchased the relacement part on their website as well as watched the install video.

I just successfully installed the control board W10589069 this morning and your guidance really helped. I had no idea how to do this but did call Maytag to make sure I had the right part. It took me 2 hours to do it but I was very careful, took lots of pictures along the way, and started and stopped your video a dozen times to make it happen. The Maytag model MDB8959SAW1 was the one I was repairing. A big Thank You!

Successfully replaced the electronic control board and wire harness to my 2016 Kitchenaid dishwasher after the first board almost burned the house down. Can't thank you enough for saving me so much aggravation!! Really frustrating that modern manufacturing just expects you to throw away appliances after 5 years. Had to get the wire harness custom made by Whirlpool in Mexico.

My appliance repair guy did not want to make this repair, said it wasn't worth it. But I found the circuit board on Amazon and we were able to install it with minimal drama using your video. Saved me at least $600. Thank you.

Thanks for the video. I bought a used controller to repair a friend's Whirlpool dishwasher. It was easy to replace. I opened the old timer up and noticed a buildup of cockroach feces on the circuit board around the IC chip solder connectors. Ugh! No doubt that's what caused it to fail.
Such a dirty house! The board probably could have been cleaned off using an old tooth brush and alcohol, and that might have fixed it. The unit is now working fine,

Great video! Our dishwasher is a Jenn Air JDB8700AWPO and the video matched it perfect. Both Kitchen Aid and Jenn Air are made by Whirlpool so the insides are the same. Easy fix. Thank You!

If my dishwasher has a burning smell but control panel still works, would this be a cause to replace? Dishwasher is fully functional except for burning smell.

You will need to try and determine which part is causing the smell, and check the wiring for any damage that could be causing the issue. Start with the heating element, you may just have something on it causing the smell.

My whirlpool gold series isn’t filling with water. I replaced the water inlet valve (though it tested good but was pretty dirty), the door switch and float switch tested good. I replaced the main computer board and that didn’t fix it either. If I pour water into it manually, it will spray the water around and drain it as well. Could it still be this pump that needs to be replaced? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You might have a diverter motor going bad. Did you check that?

How do I know if the existing control unit has failed? Any way to verify that before I spend $150?

      exactly... nobody has this online

I ended up buying another control unit and after installing it and finding that it did not change or fix my problem, I found a broken wire. One of the wires going from the control unit to the drain motor had become somewhat welded to the cardboard type of material inside the door due to cheap electrical tape. The electrical tape had turned mostly to goo. I fixed that in about three minutes, and everything works perfectly again.

Thanks so much for making this video! I couldn't figure out how to disassemble my Kenmore elite dishwasher 665.13972K010 (installed 2011), but this is the exact instructions for removing the front panel and changing the touch pad bar. I hadn't seen this video, and I made the mistake of removing the side screws on the door, take my advice, don't do that!!! Pain and misery and a second person will be required to reassemble.

If you'll put your model number into the search engine on our website www.appliancepartspros.com/ you can likely pull up a parts diagram that will show you where that part is. You can use this tool on our website to help you find the model number: www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
