Thanks for that, you touched on the fact that there is a hospital, I saw something awhile back online mentioned that Ashland has a great hospital ranked one of the top15 in the US !?!??
I lived for 9 years on Terrace Street, with an eastward view over the whole town.
One of my favorite things was to be "above the fog," the socked-in valley below,
with a clear view to Grizzly and the big wide green foothills leading up to the Cascades.
Most parts of Ashland have astounding views.
Nice country there, I have drove through Ashland a number of times 20 plus years ago, and stayed there a couple times.
It's not my favorite town in Southern Oregon, but it's a pretty good town. It's my favorite town that is landlocked as I'm a coastal person. I live in Ashland at the SOU dorms as I'm an SOU student. I will graduate in June and move back to Portland afterward.
Dude, I lived there in 1986-87, went to 6th and 7th grade there- Loved it there! My wife and I want to check it out after I retire next year. But I just can’t get over the housing prices for such a small town?! Where are these people working? lol! We’re trying to move away from the Washington, DC area ( which is very expensive) to somewhere like Ashland, or Southern Oregon. Wife is a BSN nurse, I’m a firefighter/paramedic soon to retire. Anyway, haven’t been there since 1990, but have always missed it greatly.
Thank you for reaching out! The housing prices are driven by the supply and demand, and we currently have a low supply with a pretty high demand...which pushes prices up. So that's what is going on with home prices. The good news about that is Southern Oregon has a lot of diversity in the various types of neighborhoods, so I'm confident we could find some great options for you at pretty much any price point from $300k up.
Good to hear, thanks dude.
Hi. I just want to tell you my husband and I are in a similar situation. We are newly retired from our business and want move to Ashland from the Bay Area , Ca. We have 3 cousins that moved about 3 years ago and love it. But looking at how high the prices of homes are now, I’m discouraged a bit, and while I like the environment of living in town, my husband needs some land to keep him busy . I’m going to keep looking though. I hope you get to retire to Ashland very soon.
That says a lot coming from the Bay Area!
Housing prices off the charts?...Californians!
Coraline's city kk
Hi! I am originally from Ukraine and live in La Pine. My question is: Is it worth to be a real state agent in Central Oregon? Thank you!
Great question! I know there are a lot of real estate agents in central oregon, so the competition is pretty fierce. The nice thing about the real estate industry is that personal relationships and referrals go a long ways, so if you have a big network it could be a great idea. Otherwise, you just need to be a hard worker who is determined on being successful. :)
low crime rate yes, but ashland gets weird crimes and disturbing unsolved murders.
I'm curious now. lol. I can only think of one situation in the last 20 years that might fall into this category. Would love to know which ones you're referring to?
You could just call the video "Things I love about Ashland Oregon." Nothing wrong about loving and not living in a place. Weird flex.
Thanks for watching!
I'd love to live there but i'm trying to get away from all the progressive lib stuff...
