Just got mine last week and already put about 200 miles on it. I love it! Such a great bike to get into the sport. I def recommend going up to the Sport to get that extra gear on the cassette, like he mentioned in the video. For me, riding here in Cali, there's hills all over the place so it is a great great range to have.
Thanks for this look at this affordable Specialized, I like it and it sure looks, all of a sudden, like a classic bike with those rim brakes and such. And colors can have funny names and funny reputations. 50 years ago, my Dad was part of a famous race car team which fielded a car in orange and black. And the guys in the shop called it 'Pumpkin Orange.' And they were advised, no no no, don't call it that. Thanks again for your vids and now the giveaways, which are always fun.
I was just gifted a 2010 Allez sport by a coworker. It was her dad's and it's mint, hardly used. It's a third of the weight of my last commuter bike- which was an old steel Specialized mountain bike from the 90's, lol. Before that I had a specialized Sirrus hybrid and it was sorta heavy as well- but this Allez is by far the lightest bike I've owned. Has the carbon forks, carbon seat post, and the frame is a lighter aluminum. Her dad had an extra wheelset for it.....looks like it was the original and the one on it has a wider spread. He did a lot of distance rides for charity and such.
I got a 2012 Specialized Allez sport that a girlfriend of mine recently gave to me. She bought it used but ended up not riding it. It is such an amazing bike .
Good video, thanks for posting. Bought the base E5 last year and is a great entry level model for anyone starting out or returning, like me. E5 weighs in at c10kg and for the price (£800, UK) offers good value for money. Only slight complaint is the Claris groupset is a little clunky on the gear changes. Unless an upgrade to Sora or Tiagra delivers the real smoothness, I’d say stick with the base model.
The bike is timeless. A bike that you can do everything with: climb, descend, sprint, commute and you can do it all really fast while looking good.

Ordered the bike today in Satin Cast Blue Metallic/Gloss Ice Blue color way. Can’t wait. Awesome and informative vid !
Friend, excellent video, the best and most detailed I've seen so far. Could you make a comparison between her and Cannondale CAAD Optimo Sora 2021?
I have the 2018 E5 model and it has been amazing. Very fast bike with carbon aero wheels! Mine is upgraded with the 105 R7000 groupset.

thanks for the video, it really helped me in my decision between this one and the basic one. I ended up with the dove grey in a 56.
I have the blue one, size 58, it's my first bike and I love that bike!

My first road bike with Tiagra I bought in 2005 weighted 22.5lbs. This would be a fairly light bike with 105/lighter wheels! I'd ride that!!
