I once blew up my friend's base in Minecraft because I also had physics OCD. It was 100 squares stacked up - like a 1 block huge tower - and then a giant square box at the top. The worst part is that the "support" wasn't even centered, it was on one of the corners of that giant square box.
As a new player - this is where I want to be but I’m at the Barf stage. I love your art. How do you hide critical things like the cryo-freezer in such neat builds like the train car. I see the fridges but a man needs his frozen brain bomb stash …
What piece did you use for those wooden support struts @ 25:40 in the build transformation holding up the upper level? Been looking for a piece like that but havent been able to find what its called or what menu its in
That is a wall from the pavilion set! It is a season scoreboard reward, but probably will be in the atom shop in the future. In the meantime, if you have the flamer trap, you can place the normal wooden shack wall and burn it, and it will give you a similar wood strut look
Oh man thanks for sharing the tips church! Wish I knew a lot of these when starting. Would have saved me years. If there’s one issue I had to work on with building camps, it’s my writing of these extremely complex and lengthy Steven King-esque novels before even placing down one foundation. Idk, It really just helps me understand why the bowl of fruit would be sitting next to poker chip on the kitchen counter. Joking aside, appreciate you helping out all the new folks!
That was something that I had to work on too. For me, it was about making sure the character arcs of the fruit in the bowl made sense and wasn't too rushed. Thanks for checking out the video and for the support
Excellent video introducing the essentials of camp building to save on time, materials and frustration with the inclusion of links to other specific techniques to improve builds even more! Thanks, misterchurch!😻

I will never understand the "football stadium" houses, just saw one 10 minutes ago right on the road that goes from The Wayward to the Slocum's Joe. I counted and it was 7x7 on each floor and it was three floors high. It had no windows just the plain Vault walls and Vault floors... the roof was a mess too, bunch of tiny triangle peaks and squares mixed, and almost nothing inside, blocked the whole road by a lot on each side... WHY!?
Every time someone builds a floating box, Mister Church dies inside. Hundreds of stimpaks are wasted on reviving him every day. Please be considerate. Save our stimpaks. Don't build a floating box.
Love that new Fusion generator so much no wires 😅 best atom shop buy for sure i just need to get better at building a nice house without it looking like a damn squares 🤦🏻

Blueprint rant is all I needed to hear lmao. Level 70 and finally wanted to move my base from the starting area and tried for 50 minutes in so many places I just gave up
Usually when people try to make funny jokes in these videos I roll my eyes, but you actually made me laugh with 'Speaking of shrubbery' well done sir. Take my like.
I don't know if this has been said yet, but the vendor at the Lumbermill just outside Vault 76 has the Advanced Power Connectors plan now, so you can pick it up pretty early.
The problem with the spawn point is that it's different for yourself and others. Never figured out how it works, so I ask some friends to test whenever I wanna build in a new location.
Depending on where your camp is, not only determines where but what enemies spawn. For a year i had a base where the enemies would spawn in a narrow alleyway between buildings. 4 missile turrents ensured nothing survived, and the sound of the turrets firing off was the call to get free loot
Wonderful tips, thanks for sharing your ideas. Could I ask, where on the map are you showing at the start of the video? It is very nice location to build. I tried searching around Horizon's Rest but could not locate that nice spot. Thanks!
I recently jumped back in to fallout after major annoyance quit … well the building mechanics have gone haywire and almost impossible build anything not standard.. for reference I have started a build with the church idea in mind using the fence as walls .. I’ll give my user tag in game if you have time and are willing to educate me in game after seeing the level i am working with ty … and love the vid it helped a bit that’s why the comment…
Been playing since the Beta. Admittedly still peeves me to see floating box camps, especially when it is on my camp location. Often it is a foundation with some benches slapped down. Meanwhile I got a heavily decorated cottage that had a lot of effort put into it.
Hey! What is the name of the lamp that you used in the final exemple build next to the sofa/couch ? I’ve been searching for it as I thought it looked really cool but couldn’t find this plan or name? Love your content btw, big love from France !
Amazing tips! You have great builds and you totally saved me on my wiring! But I did move my whole camp with items in it and all except the things outside of it with the blueprint. I just took the stairs off of it and the doors outside and it moved. I was very excited as I thought I had to start over. Thankfully I just had to rewire some things outside and out the doors and stairs back on and the outside decor. 🙃 maybe I just got lucky.
Question I have. When building how do you pull and push items closer/farther from you in free cam ? I had a very large blueprint I was using for a Plyon camp the other day and I could get get my camera far enough away to snap it to the post I was using as an anchor….mad I was
If you’re on pc, the mouse wheel moves it. If you’re on console, press and hold the “place” button and pull your joystick back and forth to move. You can also raise and lower objects on console by holding the place button and using r1/l1 on ps (which I think is the bumpers on Xbox)
@@misterchurch666 perfect! Much thank you! As our Supreme Leader Howard says “It just works”. How in the world would any reasonable person discover this stuff save accidentally sitting in the controller? 😂
One of my camps has a store front/Comedy show on the second floor with a crafting and gaming area on the 1st floor however if you go past the do not enter signs and go to the backroom you may find a secret Dr Frankenstein type dungeon complete with experiments 😮
I wonder, why you didn't mention the "regular" wiring through a wall, there is a connector that does that, the Wall-Pass-Through from the Advanced Power Connectors. I use that on both my houses to power the fusion core-loading thing inside.
i dont usually use those because I don't like how much vertical space they take up, and you also use slightly more budget that way, as you need an additional conduit attached to that to connect the wire to
my idea if you want all the fun stuff you bought is making sections or houses for each theme and blending them to seem like a unlikely community of varied peeps
while quite the builder myself im glad i watched and learned of the wireless power, was quite chuffed with myself for having a large theme park build with no wires in site but no budget left, 30 wires and 15 conduits freed up some space
Omg "barf building" 😅 Exactly the word I was looking for. I can't count the amount of time I spent walking around these looking for their vendor and then just gave up because I couldn't find it among all the crap. So not only do they not make sense, but it can also lose you sales and caps building like that. Not that my building is great, but at the very least you can easily find where to buy my crap 😂
I came back to the game after a couple of years. Attempted to move an elaborate camp, just for fun, and it worked! I thought to myself oh wow they fixed this 😂

I loved the build system in FO4 but I love the build system in 76 far more. I prefer incorporating pre-existing structures into my C.A.M.P, my Funhouse I created is a rectangle shape with the Mad Hatter table (near vault 76) in the center of my home (kind of like an indoor/outdoor garden, even put my company tea and my rabbit hutch in the same area) even have a door that leads to nowhere but a wall behind a curtain door 😀 my second C.A.M.P is at Whitesprings but I built on top of the bathroom/WC buildings so it looks like a 3 story house, neatly tucked against the cliffs, the roof of the bathroom is reserved as a patio 😊 and a small break in the pre-existing wall leads down a set of stairs to my workbenches, my shop is on the green. I also once had a house at the campground overlook, with the Tyler County Fairgrounds sign (had an excellent view of the park, my house was on an upper and lower level. My next camp I have planned I found a small crater, may try and build a raider palace with basement. Safe to say I have great respect for players who treat their home like art and not just a boring square shaped hovel to dump their crap off. If you intend to have visitors why not get creative and give them a treat especially since they are paying caps to get to your shop usually and may not find stuff they want to buy 😃
Honestly I like building camps that tell a story and how they fit into the world like I just built a ranger station in skyline that had a fallout shelter built into the tool shed as a public shelter similar to the ones built into post offices during the Cold war I'm trying to decorate it in a way that people tried to get in but were unsuccessful and made a make shift home out of the ranger station
is that spawn point tip not slightly incorrect? i thought if you fast travelled from farther away it might show you where one of your own personal spawn points were in your camp rather than the guest spawn point and that you ideally would want to fast travel while within your camp radius, or just as close as you can get to your camp, to figure out where guests will spawn. i have been using that method ever since i found out about it and it has always worked for me but idk, maybe your way works also. even if the method in the video does work to determine the guest spawn point tho the method i've been using at least doesn't require any caps to fast travel away from the camp before fast travelling back to it so it's good to know about anyway.
I honestly didn't know it mattered if you were in your camp or not, I'll have to check it out! I was fast traveling to the crater bc it is free, and I was fast traveling away and back instead of to the camp from the camp because the lighting bugs out if you respawn or fast travel to the cell youre already in
@@misterchurch666 i feel like it's something i saw in some older vid(s) of people describing how to find your player's camp spawn(s) and your guest camp spawn because they aren't/weren't the same spawn (maybe the devs changed it recently idk) and map distance mattered or something. i'd have to maybe go find that vid again to refresh my memory, been a while since i used it as the method has always worked to remove guest spawns from walls and whatever for me lol. ahhh, for some reason it didn't even register in my mind that you clicked crater lol, oops.
@@cnam73 ah! I’ll have to check into that more, could be helpful! I know that very recently (like beginning of this season) they did something with spawn points bc they seem off from what they used to be. And to be fair, crater didn’t used to be free 😅

Hiya, I am really struggling to do the power armor leg upgrades for violet flux, do you have a guide? Also where to find the Ultracite? I stumbled across one in a nuke zone and mined it, but all my flora just spoils and the materials to make the flux seems like a grind and I am not enjoying myself with it all. My carry weight in power armor is 250 and I generally clean up to about 190/250, I am using your Plasma Caster build and am level 109
you can farm ultracite in the glassed caverns in the cranberry bog! I would try buying some flux for caps, there are a lot of people who would be able to help ya out, would be easier than trying to farm it yourself if youre struggling with it
Excavator pa while mining Ultracite, Green Thumb for harvesting the flora & Super Duper for crafting the flux. The hardest thing to farm, imo, is the high-rad fluid. Fortunately, it only takes one fluid to make a flux. Also, if you wait until the zone clears, the plants & animals will still be nuked versions but you won't have to deal with the radiation.

The most important tip for new builders: "Don't waste a lot of time trying to build a perfect building, Bethesda hasn't made many improvements over the years in the Fallout series... and you're going to run into problems placing items" Just drop a few turrents around your resource collectors and call it good, otherwise you're just going to end up getting pissed off.

I try to make my home appealing, I feel bad if players pay caps to come to my shop and don’t find anything they want to buy. So I give them dinner and a movie 😂 my home is creative and my resources are free for the taking.
13:32 What happened to the connection points that could already make it go through the wall without doing a trick?
What piece did you use for those wooden support struts @ 25:40 in the build transformation holding up the upper level? Been looking for a piece like that but havent been able to find what its called or what menu its in
That is a wall from the pavilion set! It is a season scoreboard reward, but probably will be in the atom shop in the future. In the meantime, if you have the flamer trap, you can place the normal wooden shack wall and burn it, and it will give you a similar wood strut look
@@misterchurch666 damn, i was hoping it was free, seems like a pretty basic and essential piece 😂 thanks for letting me know
Oh man thanks for sharing the tips church!
Thanks for checking out the video! I hope you didn't learn anything from it 😂
@@misterchurch666 I have trouble making immersive builds and learned to focus on a story idea that makes sense to me to guide the process…and a cold glass of milk always helps!😉😻🥛
WHY!?
Ours is not to question why, ours is just to see camps fly
I feel like I just experienced a master course but for free thank you Mister Church!
Every time someone builds a floating box, Mister Church dies inside.
Hundreds of stimpaks are wasted on reviving him every day.
Please be considerate. Save our stimpaks. Don't build a floating box.
I’m mister church, and I approve this message
Love that new Fusion generator so much no wires 😅 best atom shop buy for sure i just need to get better at building a nice house without it looking like a damn squares 🤦🏻
Dude, all your content is great man. Keep em' coming!
Glad I found this video. I subscribed. I like your verbal descriptions and pacing, and you explain things that I’ve been trying to figure out since I started playing 76 (since it was released). Thought you’d like to know that this content is useful even to ❤veteran players!
Blueprint rant is all I needed to hear lmao. Level 70 and finally wanted to move my base from the starting area and tried for 50 minutes in so many places I just gave up
Brilliant! Putting this one on speed dial for all the lovely newbies I meet in the Wasteland ❤❤
Thanks Aussie! ☺️
Just recently got into details builds. This is a great help

Thanks!
I found the location, just by Overlook Cabin! :)

How’d you put the vines on the side of the train car?

@8:30 how do you get stuff on the bookshelves? The same way you would for the display cases?
Those are floor items placed on top of the shelf and merged down. If you want to learn more about merging I recommend Nuka violets the art of merging
That Double Walling blows my mind, thanks for that!
I recently jumped back in to fallout after major annoyance quit … well the building mechanics have gone haywire and almost impossible build anything not standard.. for reference I have started a build with the church idea in mind using the fence as walls .. I’m just having lots of trouble with clipping and stacking and overlapping … are their any work arounds.. if your interested I could use a little..
Funny as hell and informative! Love it!
Time to do the opposite of everything in this video

BARF building!! Love it, so true
One of my camps has a store front/Comedy show on the second floor with a crafting and gaming area on the 1st floor however if you go past the do not enter signs and go to the backroom you may find a secret Dr Frankenstein type dungeon complete with experiments 😮
sounds cool!
Fo76 has really aggravated my dislike of loading screens, so please at least have 1 workbench and stash at your camp in the main "over world"...
I wonder, why you didn't mention the "regular" wiring through a wall, there is a connector that does that, the Wall-Pass-Through from the Advanced Power Connectors. I use that on both my houses to power the fusion core-loading thing inside.
i dont usually use those because I don't like how much vertical space they take up, and you also use slightly more budget that way, as you need an additional conduit attached to that to connect the wire to
Good thing to do if you do double wall use barn set for the doorway when you want to have a clean outline for the door
my idea if you want all the fun stuff you bought is making sections or houses for each theme and blending them to seem like a unlikely community of varied peeps
Mister Church has yet to see my C.A.M.P yet he spent the first 3 minutes of this video ROASTING ME. Lol, looks like I'll be re-doing my base..
while quite the builder myself im glad i watched and learned of the wireless power, was quite chuffed with myself for having a large theme park build with no wires in site but no budget left, 30 wires and 15 conduits freed up some space
I've been up to vault 51 but where do you find the free shelter?
You have to do the side quest that takes you there, the place you’re looking for isn’t actually the vault, it’s just near there

Thank you, you explain always everything clearly and these tricks are really useful!

What is that generator he talks about. What is it called?
is that spawn point tip not slightly incorrect? i thought if you fast travelled from farther away it might show you where one of your own personal spawn points were in your camp rather than the guest spawn point and that you ideally would want to fast travel while within your camp radius, or just as close as you can get to your camp, to figure out where guests will spawn. i have been using that method ever since i found out about it and it has always worked for me but idk, maybe your way works also. even if the method in the video does work to determine the guest spawn point tho the method i've been using at least doesn't require any caps to fast travel away from the camp before fast travelling back to it so it's good to know about anyway.
@@misterchurch666 yeah, they definitely changed something about them not too long ago. they should just bring back welcome mats or whatever and just give people like spawn protection or something so you can't get trolled by some person who trapped it lol

@@aestevalis0 oh that's good info on perk cards, I will swap to a farming setup. I have a full set of Excavator 3 star that I have collected.
@@misterchurch666 Cheers, went today, yes lots of the ore, but I don't get any recipes for the ammo. Is it a perk card?

The most important tip for new builders:
"Don't waste a lot of time trying to build a perfect building, Bethesda hasn't made many improvements over the years in the Fallout series... and you're going to run into problems placing items"
Just drop a few turrents around your resource collectors and call it good, otherwise you're just going to end up getting pissed off.
And prob still will tbh 🤣
Orrrrrr you could watch the video and learn how to not have a barf camp
ive been getting back into fallout 76 again after taking a break for a few yrs cause the grinding of seasons got to me. ive had the same camp near the red rocket in flatwoods since i first started playing the game in 2020. i want to find a better location, possibly in a place where i can find lots of crystals for tesla rifle repairs. it gets hard sumtimes trying to find them when my gun breaks. i usually check the church vendor robot in flatwoods, fort atlas, and vault tec university. anyone know any other locations to get crystals?
