Same. I try and treat my camps like art so that paying the caps to get to my shop and maybe not finding anything worth buying isn’t a total loss. All my resources are free to take/unlocked, and I have my camp a bit odd, and my ammo is always sold for 1 or 0 caps.
One I built my home around the Vault 76 ‘Mad Hatter table’ it is now my indoor/outdoor garden, kind of funhouse themed with the Fasnacht Helvetia structure, trick doors, clowns, games etc with the yellow, red and black starburst floors. My second camp I built it on top of one of the Whitesprings WC buildings/toilets, kind of looks like a 3 story Fasnacht Frat house 😂 the top of the bathroom is my patio area with the kitchen on one side and the living room on the other, my bedroom behind a semi hidden brick wall is at the top of the stairs. Leading from a break in the pre-existing wall is my staircase leading down to my workbenches.
I have respect for players who make me want to stop and take photos in their home 😊 players who treat it like art and not just a giant boring cube they dump their crap off

In terms of decorating, I have a two story rectangle building. I made the building very basic on purpose because the inside of the bottom floor is filled with things I’ve collected over the last 5 years. Any nuka cola items, all fasnacht masks, I have a complete bobble head stand, an entire corner of my camp is based on the silver shroud and the other incredibles with all the magazines. I’ve made it very homey and that’s the theme you can see with mine. It’s very personal to me. The second floor I made a nuka cola/Slocum joe diner that my friends keep saying they’re jealous of lol

For the "floating foundations" build steps down and place a foundation in the ground then remove the steps. You may or may not be able to then have your main foundations look right without a gap underneath. Sometimes it doesnt like a foundation over a foundation situation.

As a new player, this was pretty helpful. I'm a big fan of survival games like Conan Exiles, Ark, and even survival light stuff like No Man's Sky, Minecraft, etc. Your speech at the beginning about how to do clutter properly is great! It's very difficult for people to do clutter properly and you explained it very well!
Also, I have used the blueprint to move my "house" with me. But like you said it doesn't really work that well... What I have found works very well though is to build inside the free shelter (the same one you mentioned in your video) and then just place that thing down wherever I move my camp to. Because that is a 1x1 square and it has all my crafting stuff inside. I know it's also limited in what it can hold, but that's why we built a 1x3 line outside that holds my ally and my vending machine, my cooking pot (I like to cook outside), and a stash box. Now with this, I have a very easy to place camp that is very easy to move and very flexible.

I like to have visually pleasing builds, have 2 camps and a shelter which I think I did pretty well with. have a trading post which sits on the mountains overlooking cranberry, I recently revamped, have very little dead space around, single turret to stop the few enemies from breaking my stupid crops. have a house which sits between 4 large trees in the forest by a small lake with some docks. The only really dead space being between the foyer and dining area. this camp lacks a shop so I turned my root cellar into a Free States flea market to work as it's shop. it does have 2 turrets as there are 3 groups of enemies normally fighting around me, tons of free weapons and armor to scrap but they regularly kill 1 very specific barhmin in the camp. don't completely understand merging yet, know a few tricks that sometimes work.
Little side note, I refer to "Barf builds" as "Look at me's!"

    • @jollyrot3145
      @jollyrot3145 6 месяцев назад

I like to build with pre-existing structures and incorporate them into my CAMPS. It’s a shame I can’t have more 😑 will probably tear one down again just to rebuild elsewhere for funsies. Current homes: One is like a scary clown themed Funhouse with the Vault 76 ‘Mad Hatter table’ as part of an indoor/outdoor garden, even have my company tea and rabbit hutch nearby, and a fake door that leads to a wall. My second I built on top of one of the Whitesprings WC buildings/toilets, the top of the pre-existing bathroom is my patio separating my kitchen from the living room/upstairs bedroom. A natural break in the pre-existing Whitesprings wall has stairs that lead down to my workbenches. Each time I push the envelope to see how crazy I can get. I usually tear down my camp and rebuild it elsewhere after every 10 levels gained, or if I get tired of sharing my space with other players 😂
I try to make my home appealing, I feel bad if players pay caps to come to my shop and don’t find anything they want to buy. So I give them dinner and a movie 😂 my home is creative and my resources are free for the taking.

I once blew up my friend's base in Minecraft because I also had physics OCD. It was 100 squares stacked up - like a 1 block huge tower - and then a giant square box at the top. The worst part is that the "support" wasn't even centered, it was on one of the corners of that giant square box.

You can also raise and lower objects on console by holding the place button and using r1/l1 on ps (which I think is the bumpers on Xbox)

I loved the build system in FO4 but I love the build system in 76 far more. I prefer incorporating pre-existing structures into my C.A.M.P, my Funhouse I created is a rectangle shape with the Mad Hatter table (near vault 76) in the center of my home (kind of like an indoor/outdoor garden, even put my company tea and my rabbit hutch in the same area) even have a door that leads to nowhere but a wall behind a curtain door 😀 my second C.A.M.P is at Whitesprings but I built on top of the bathroom/WC buildings so it looks like a 3 story house, neatly tucked against the cliffs, the roof of the bathroom is reserved as a patio 😊 and a small break in the pre-existing wall leads down a set of stairs to my workbenches, my shop is on the green. I also once had a house at the campground overlook, with the Tyler County Fairgrounds sign (had an excellent view of the park, my house was on an upper and lower level. My next camp I have planned I found a small crater, may try and build a raider palace with basement. Safe to say I have great respect for players who treat their home like art and not just a boring square shaped hovel to dump their crap off. If you intend to have visitors why not get creative and give them a treat especially since they are paying caps to get to your shop usually and may not find stuff they want to buy 😃

is that spawn point tip not slightly incorrect? i thought if you fast travelled from farther away it might show you where one of your own personal spawn points were in your camp rather than the guest spawn point and that you ideally would want to fast travel while within your camp radius, or just as close as you can get to your camp, to figure out where guests will spawn. i have been using that method ever since i found out about it and it has always worked for me but idk, maybe your way works also. even if the method in the video does work to determine the guest spawn point tho the method i've been using at least doesn't require any caps to fast travel away from the camp before fast travelling back to it so it's good to know about anyway.

I honestly didn't know it mattered if you were in your camp or not, I'll have to check it out! Hiya, I am really struggling to do the power armor leg upgrades for violet flux, do you have a guide? Also where to find the Ultracite? I stumbled across one in a nuke zone and mined it, but all my flora just spoils and the materials to make the flux seems like a grind and I am not enjoying myself with it all.

you can farm ultracite in the glassed caverns in the cranberry bog! I would try buying some flux for caps, there are a lot of people who would be able to help ya out, would be easier than trying to farm it yourself if youre struggling with it

    • @aestevalis0

Excavator pa while mining Ultracite, Green Thumb for harvesting the flora & Super Duper for crafting the flux. The hardest thing to farm, imo, is the high-rad fluid. Fortunately, it only takes one fluid to make a flux.
Also, if you wait until the zone clears, the plants & animals will still be nuked versions but you won't have to deal with the radiation.

The most important tip for new builders:
"Don't waste a lot of time trying to build a perfect building, Bethesda hasn't made many improvements over the years in the Fallout series... and you're going to run into problems placing items"
Just drop a few turrents around your resource collectors and call it good, otherwise you're just going to end up getting pissed off.
