Just want to give you kudos for explaining how to get the Flamethrower trap, when I got into the game last year, I kept seeing builders use it in videos and no one ever explained how to get it. Trying to follow the wiki and get a straight answer on what I needed to do was also a headache! I got it eventually but it was way harder than it could have been to figure out. @@misterchurch666 Honestly it is amazing seeing the items and then the reason why. Also, some great ideas with spacing foundations at the same height level. Most def. learned a lot from it and going to make sure I have these on my characters. 🤘
Rugs are great to go under turrets too. Turrets have a tendency to disappear in game and the only way to fix it is to send whatever they're setting on back into storage. Having them on a rug lets you just store the rug and not have to remove parts of your structures. Then just replace the rug and turret.
The ultimate guide for new builders. Very well done, Mr. Church. Even for a pro there were some good tips. I had completely forgotten about the power armour trick and didn’t know the vines for triple walls work.
Utterly bamboozled that the fucking base junk walls that were basically your only option for fencing in Fallout 4 that was always super useful is for some reason sold in the Atom Shop.
Im also bamboozled by the barn wall set from 4 being gone, and we have this hideous one instead. Or the metal prefabs from 4 that are missing. Or the neon letters missing all the color variants but blue. It's confusing when it's already coded and they remove it xD
The drop merging and foundation merging are my favorite, and when I got really into building. You can make "new" items with some creative combos. Also, I like to use the flamethrower trap to destroy walls so I can run wires straight through them, decent way yo hide wires and avoid using unnecessary power connectors.
In addition, i'd like to add that the brick walls do have some of the coolest destroyed textures. I like to mix them with the junkyard fences, gives it a nice scrappy vibe.

Wrt #4, I have found that the Playing Cards from Most Wanted have similar behavior. So if you need something almost invisible in an area where a rug would still show, the cards work beautifully. I used them with the float trick to make windowboxes recently with the long succulent planter. Modifies the collision on the items you place on them, too, so I was able to line up 2x succulent box at each window to look like one long box. Because they're so small, they're a bit finicky both to line up and grab, but they will actually clip inside some floors but still be able to be hovered over and selected. Invisible except not. :3 Awesome video as always
This video is huge for me. I'm a new player. Just started in summer and my buddies helped me with plans, but now that I'm getting level (just hit 200 this week), i've been collecting plans so I can make some theme builds. This is SUPER helpful. Easiest Fallout 76 sub I've ever made. ty
I've only been playing a few months, I've watched a ton of videos and this one was simply outstanding. You explained the things I was missing about the 'how to' with these needed items.
Not sure if this has been mentioned. If you want Atom Shop items that are not currently in the shop. You can ask Bethesda support for them as long as you have the right amount of atoms.
Thanks, this was such a helpful summary of build techniques. So much easier than searching out individual videos of each one. And then I seem to end up on cat videos four hours later.
Decoy duck is also a really good item. I put the vault entrance ontop of a decoy duck and pushed it into the wall of the abandoned mine shelter by the water which I couldn't do normally. When struggling duck or rug is what I tell my friends. There are other items now that work similarly to the duck from Nuka World etc but they are harder to 'grab' in free cam mode but basically most if not all prefabs can sit ontop of a decoy duck so if you're struggling to place a prefab or shelter it's a good way to do it. Just remember to drop merge unless you want it to float.
You can also float just about anything by placing it on a conduit, then placing the conduit on just about any workbench that has anything on it that is higher than the table top. It works the same as placing the item on the camp module, except you can raise objects at wildly different increments, depending on what workbench you use
@misterchurch666 I only discovered this a couple of days ago while merging some workbenches. I placed the new fermenter on a conduit to merge into the gas pump brewing station. After about 10 hours of moving the fermenter around on the conduit at least 76 times, I finally got it to sit between the gas pumps on the table, placed it, and it disappeared. Looking around in confusion, I finally found the fermenter sitting up on top of one of the pumps and just assumed I must've bumped an analog stick with my shovel-thumbs. So after going through the unnecessarily long process to put it back where I wanted, I placed it again. And... it disappeared from sight... again. Only this time, I found it about half a mile in the air, flipping me off as it flew away from my hopes of ever merging those specific benches. So that got me thinking (and definitely not rage crying), I wonder if this works with other benches? So after another 10 hours (with zero rage crying. Honestly, Jimmy, I don't know why you keep bringing it up.) I discovered that you can get objects to float just by wasting half a day moving them around on a conduit repeatedly, while also moving both around on workbenches with areas higher than the table top. But I'm sure with practice, I can easily cut that time down to only about 3 or 4 hours, which is still at least twice as long as it took Bethesda to configure and implement the mechanics of camp build in FO76.
I would say the metaly barn set thing, the grey one. As far as I know it's the only building set, where you can place a foundation directly on it, so the textures merging. Perfect for custom foundations.
Another way to use the flamer trap is when for example you built the roof on a round camp. If you place the flamer trap on the edge of an existing roof piece where it would inrersect with the next roof piece you're trying to place. The piece will snap in place without having to destroy anything even if it was red before you placed the trap.

I haven’t seen anyone use my method for connecting wires through roofs and upper floors. I use conduit junction variant 11/11 which points down and conduit junction variant 5/11 which points up, the one that points down can be placed through roofs and upper floors which works great on turrets, vending machines and any thing that requires power and when used in combination with other variant 11/11 & 5/11 plus conduits opens up a whole range of applications

The restrictions while annoying are there to keep players from making floating bases... impossible to reach or that are nothing but designed to kill players on teleportation. However "life finds a way" and still players found ways to get around those limitations. Some for good and some for evil. But I do support "supported" structures as long as it done properly. i.e ARK comes to mind after certain radius you need support.
Generator smoke looks fine for me, and i think it is because i had a similar problem in Cyberpunk, for some reason smoke textures just looked super blocky and weird. I have a 4090 so it wasn't a quality/setting thing, and i ended up finding that the problem wasn't super rare and the fix was setting Antialiasing - Transparency to 2x in the nvidia control panel. Maybe worth a try for you as well.
truly excellent video! useful info, funny, didn't waste my time, high quality. my only complaint...is that I lost HP every time you said "texture" and meant "model," and I gained a bleed status every time you said "collision texture" 😢
could we combine the floating item glitch to float a mat in a destroyed pefab and that floating walls glitch? like if we put a rug that has been merged with a filing cabinet in the red rocket garage prefab up in the corner, then use a floating wall up against the destroyed wall of the garage and then build out from that wall to "repair" the destroyed garage or wallpaper it?
@misterchurch666 oh awesome, I forgot and honestly thought I figured something cool out. Sometimes I'm a genius... I should rematch the red rocket garage build. I really loved the ramp/roof.
Well, the mannequin is just to reset the button staying down. Otherwise you don’t need anything at all, just to place it down and move it once. I find this easier just bc there’s less collision with the player’s body :)
Great vid thx! quick question though, is it normal that building in 76 is more complicated than learning quantum physics? x) Reminds me of modding skyrim

Greetings fellow Wastelander! I have noticed that my underground camp in Helvetia is no longer able to be activated. I keep getting the error that the spot is blocked by another player, even when I am on a private server. I am using the stairs/ bass trick. I had been trying to create a new camp using the same method and the bass/ rug will not place on the stairs. I am beginning to suspect that BGS 'fixed' this. Would you mind confirming this for me? Thanks in advance! Great video by the way... very informative for new players.
Thank you! I know that they widened the perimeter around Helvetia and a lot of people's camps got blocked. I don't know why they did this, if it had to do with Fasnacht server stability - which has been pretty bad tbf. As far as I know, the bass/rug still places, it just can be finnicky. I'd recommend trying one of the other ways if that's giving you trouble though
Hey Cletus, your house was probably perfectly plum and level 200 years ago when it was built, after a couple centuries they move. You would know that if you spent less time on video games!

I agree! There’s a lot of kooky stuff we have to do just to place things down in very normal places
agree x3
Though I agree, if they tried to revamp it would more than likely be 10x worse lmao
I think it would kinda ruin the building for me. It being hard and annoying to build is what makes it all the more better when u make a beautiful camp
@@Aestheticmh You can't build a beautiful camp if all of the secret tricks were made into normal features that everyone could use? Just think of all the cool camps you could visit and admire.
You always have some seriously funny and interesting plans
thank you!!
Just bought the catwalk, looking forward to building tomorrow
Oooooh yes more helpful building videos Mister Church style !
🥹
Making/using blueprints is a often overlooked tool also. Wouldn't have a nice looking indoor farm otherwise.
Great info. Thank you for this😊👍
Thank you!!
100% agree fellow fallout gamer
🎮💯
I agree that the flamethrower trap requires a lot of running around. However, Abbie is the best NPC in the game and her holotapes are just hilarious. If you're a new player, don't miss out on those.
I do like Abby, rose on the other hand…
I haven’t seen anyone use my method for connecting wires through roofs and upper floors. I use conduit junction variant 11/11 which points down and conduit junction variant 5/11 which points up, the one that points down can be placed through roofs and upper floors which works great on turrets, vending machines and any thing that requires power and when used in combination with other variant 11/11 & 5/11 plus conduits opens up a whole range of applications
Conduits are great! I usually use Jug’s method to get wires through walls and floors, but this one is great too! Less budget
Can't live without the flamer trap! Didn't know the perimeter set will let you place a wall. And! You triggered my memory with the junk wall and I remembered the first Mister Church video I watched was your Hidden Rooftop Camp in Morgantown! I was like, "who tf is this guy?" 🤣😂Been watching ever since ❤
🤣 was that the one when I couldn’t walk up that pole? It’s been one hell of a journey
On adventure I’m at 790% camp budget , I built what I paid for , due to overbudget I can’t close/open my doors , change camp loadout, interact / play instruments or make camp public.
My camp consists of 11 floors of ultimate hours on adventure
I just wanna preserve it & appreciate other peoples visits
I had a camp like that and accidentally moved it 😭
Great video. Thank you
mister church never fails to fill me to the brim with juicey build ideas.
I’m so glad your juice is to the brim!!
Great work
Thanks drago!
🎉🎉🎉
Great video!
I remember when vine walls first came in the atom shop and I said “how useless is that, I’ll never use it”…. Fast forward and now I need them but can’t get them 😂😢
Thanks Mr. Church for this great video! Appreciate you!
thank you! and im sure they'll be back, they are pretty popular!
@@misterchurch666 I hope so! The weird part is they aren’t on the Bethesda support ticket option either 🧐
Until then, I’ll keep building triple walls like a peasant 😂💜
You can get them and any other atom shop item not in the shop anymore. Got to the Bethesda site log in and tou can request to buy using atoms any item. Have exact item name. Takes a few days for a reply. But doable.
@@Gold3nOwlz thanks! Yeah so these came in the “Wall Vines Set” which is not currently offered within the Bethesda Support ticket options. Are you seeing them as another name?
I'm definitely going to use the wall on the side of foundations one a lot. I think I have most of the stuff like catwalks and some build sets. Also, is there a way to cover the bottom of an upper floor with a roof? Do you have another video like this? This was super helpful.
You can simply snap the upper floor through the ranch kit roof to get the ceiling - I actually do it in my colonial build I uploaded recently ☺️
@@misterchurch666 Oh, I'll watch that video and maybe buy the ranch set since it's available right now. Thank you
Ya know, I was starting to get worried...upsettingly practical video. Whatevenisthis!? But then you told me where to stick my vault tec gennie and I felt that familiar mental health issue returning. So thanks Mr. Obviously does not go to Church.
What a relief 😮💨
The restrictions while annoying are there to keep players from making floating bases... impossible to reach or that are nothing but designed to kill players on teleportation. However "life finds a way" and still players found ways to get around those limitations. Some for good and some for evil. But I do support "supported" structures as long as it done properly. i.e ARK comes to mind after certain radius you need support.
Another floating item is the foundationless variant of the glass greenhouse dome.
Maybe worth a try for you as well.
could work! I mostly play on PSN so that wouldn't be possible, but I can look on my PC
truly excellent video! useful info, funny, didn't waste my time, high quality. my only complaint...is that I lost HP every time you said "texture" and meant "model," and I gained a bleed status every time you said "collision texture" 😢
sorry to hear you took so much damage! I will try to texture my words after your advice going forward!
Am too lazy to do 47 steps to make a Stair, but still like to watch this things
Grate video 🎉
Thanks 😁
came for instruction, subbed for the sarcasm.
I got the catwalk from the Bethesda support, today there's the prototype generator :) that's a good month for me
What's the catwalk bundle called in the support request ?
Second vid of yours I'm watching, making me 😂
Thankyou ❤
☺️
could we combine the floating item glitch to float a mat in a destroyed pefab and that floating walls glitch?
like if we put a rug that has been merged with a filing cabinet in the red rocket garage prefab up in the corner, then use a floating wall up against the destroyed wall of the garage and then build out from that wall to "repair" the destroyed garage or wallpaper it?
Yes! I did this in my red rocket video actually 😂☺️
@misterchurch666 oh awesome, I forgot and honestly thought I figured something cool out.
Sometimes I'm a genius...
I should rematch the red rocket garage build. I really loved the ramp/roof.
10:30 You don't need a Mannequin - you can use yourself and then free cam to manipulate the objects being merged.
Well, the mannequin is just to reset the button staying down. Otherwise you don’t need anything at all, just to place it down and move it once. I find this easier just bc there’s less collision with the player’s body :)
Great vid thx!
quick question though, is it normal that building in 76 is more complicated than learning quantum physics? x)
Reminds me of modding skyrim
Yeah that’s normal! For sure
Jesus Christ all the glitches we have to explot to build a nice camp deu to Bethesda's games horrible UI. Great videos!
Great video! Is there any reason why you keep connecting the flamethrower trap connect to power sauce? It can be triggered without one?
Thank you! That’s so I can activate it without leaving freecam mode! Otherwise I have to leave build mode, and then walk over to wherever I’ve ended up building, activate it, then go back into build mode > free cam.
Any chance you know a method to free place those new glass porch railings?
I don’t own them but if they work like the other porch railings, you can place them in the porch piece and then simply remove the porch from underneath them
"...on accident" always makes me laugh.
@@misterchurch666 thanks for the info. I greatly appreciate all of your input.
👀🍿
By putting plants next to walls of a home it can get easier on fire but this is in a game
Eeeeessential 🤔
Omg your bunny is so cute
Omg i love ❤️ rose 🌹
Thank you! And im glad someone does 😂
“Maniquens are classed as NPCs”…
I fking knew it
Take a berry mentat and look at one xD
Snapping down under!
🦘
For number 6 I don’t need this cus when I fast travel to my CAMP I arrive under the map due to where it’s placed, did this by accident but cool glitch
The junk walls are/were sold alone. But I think they leave them in that bundle to make you spend more. Just like catwalks right now in the store 😑
Sometimes you can order them individually by making a support ticket
@@misterchurch666 they cost 500 atoms.
Hey Cletus, your house was probably perfectly plum and level 200 years ago when it was built, after a couple centuries they move. You would know that if you spent less time on video games!
I think you’re on to something. I stopped playing video games for a bit and gained instant knowledge. It seems to be random things though. Last night I learned about ancient Zoroastrianism - I haven’t gotten any epiphanies about the house being made from plums though. I’m going to keep spending less time on video games, and let the gods continue imparting wisdom upon me. I didn’t realize that it was video games keeping me from knowing things. tysm
@@misterchurch666 you're welcome
Why am I having so much trouble moving my CAMP??? It is always the item is floating error. Please, someone give me a clue.
10:47 boom, roasted
🤣 just 📠
I have seen scorched get into the under and at the camp.
They spawn directly on the module sometimes, and sometimes go on the lowest most platform
Real title: Essential items to glitch your CAMP
That would hanging support
You can also use the camp unit to make things float. Doesnt give you a ton of room to work with but anything placed on the unit will float when you pull the camp unit away
Wish you didn't have to know like five million different glitch build techniques just to build a stupid settlement... All because bethesda somehow thinks having all these arbitrary and stupid restrictions will prevent ppl from making "bad" camps... As if there aren't tons of crappy floating garbage camps where you get stuck everywhere already...
