@Tarsa Dennis yes! All over Europe. White was for funerals, purples reserved for royalty only, blue and eapecially Lapis Lazuli blue , made from the gemstone was only for the Madonna in paintings, and really blue dye was a later invention. White in most cultures denotes funerals, spirits of the dead, formality and humble attire and shrouding. Bright colors that weren’t derived from common plants and earthtone minerals were very expensive and came later with manmade synthetic dyes and colors. The whole white wedding tradition is very young, mid 19th century in many places! Also up until then, in most parts of Europe, commoners often wore home woven and sewn regional folk lore outfits that they’s worked on and would use later for all festive, formal occasions, colorful and precious, but not forreign silks or imported colors. In Scandinavia a bride tended a myrtle from which branches were used for the crown denoting her virginity. Non-virgins were forbidden crowns. Pure white (and bleach in general) came much later, all was governed by traditions but also strict rules of class. Breaking them was a serious crime.
White dress for a wedding was wearing, if I remember well, for the 1st time by Queen Victoria. It was a dangerous color, for the rich only, because it could get dirty easely (and maybe was hard to get, I'm not sure). Usualy the colors could be different depending time and places.
I think it’s just the fact that white is symbolic of innocence, purity, and being virginal...which ties in with the Bible, ya know... granted I HIGHLY doubt this bride is a virgin. Since when is white traditional? Queen Victoria popularized the white wedding dress, most wedding dresses back in the day were gold or blue for royalty, or what color the bride desires.

Thank You. Biblical my a**.
Exactly!
I’m not supporting the whole “you have to wear white” thing but a lot of people do it because they think a white dress stands as a symbol to show the “purity” of their wife since your supposed to “wait till marriage to hanky” but that’s why a lot of people are so intense about white gowns
Blue is actually the most traditional color wedding dress since the renaissance because mother Mary is depicted in blue
That’s true, white is just a symbol of virginity but blue hits a home run with conservation.
White represents purity and blue represents fidelity. Personally, blue seems like a better representation for a bride.
Mother Mary who?? As in Jesus Christs mother? Super curious about your post.
White dress for a wedding was wearing, if I remember well, for the 1st time by Queen Victoria. It was a dangerous color, for the rich only, because it could get dirty easely (and maybe was hard to get, I'm not sure). Usualy the colors could be different depending time and places.

I think it’s just the fact that white is symbolic of innocence, purity, and being virginal...which ties in with the Bible, ya know... granted I HIGHLY doubt this bride is a virgin. in the indian subcontinent white is for funerals. and red is for weddings.
Before that, brides wore a lovely dress that they could wear again for balls. But with Victoria wearing an impractical white dress, the dressmakers saw a market for a dress that would be worn only once, so they jumped on the 'white to symbolise virginity' thing. Then families wanted to show they could dress their daughter in a dress that could only be worn once. Bottom line, it's a well-documented human construct.

Biblical times...uh huh. This color scheme has more to do with Victorian ideas of virgins and weddings and purity-associations that almost certainly did not exist in the ancient world. So really it's nothing to do with religion, and its all to do with his male ideas of what women should wear.

You stole my words Leo. That thing hurt my eyes 😣😣😱😱😱
The dress would look great on another figure type.
@@nellas1111 I can't imagine any figure type that would look good with a quilt on the back. 😂 The front might look okay on someone else
"It's not really my forte". Well Dad, it's not your wedding.
Who wrote the title? Dad hates "HER" daughter's dress? seriously? :D
Let's wait for them to edit it 😂
The dad is the type of guy who would be mad about of such a typo, I'm kind of loving it.
I don't read everything so I didn't even notice
Cuz dad is in pink
Still waiting for them to change it xD
She looks AMAZING in that “pink” dress!!!!!!
A M A Z I N G.
I’m so glad her father pulled through oh my god. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m absolutely crying at his statements and change of heart!!!!
i literally started crying when she put on that second dress, it fit her whole style and personality so beautifully and perfectly. she looked like a princess and I was so happy for her and the fact that her own father couldn't see that is infinitely saddening
Oh please 🙄
She looked even bigger than she needed to be.
I was proud of Dad when he realized he needed to support his daughter even if he didn’t get his way.
Seemed more like he weighed the pros and cons of how this was affecting his image and decided to look benevolent to maintain the image of control.
The dress the dad chose is horrible 😂😂
Oh yes it was so fuckin hideous😂
It might have looked good on a thin bride with a board flat stomach but his daughter is us size. The tulle ballgown was so much more flattering on her.
Me:*praying that there is someone named Harry in her family*
Same😅
Lol
Why

“My decision would be that I would prefer the white-“
Sir, are you the one wearing it? No? Then it’s not your decision.
He paid for it is my guess.
Lauren has such a fun personality and I'm so glad she stood her ground on the pink one💕
The second dress looked BOMB on her
I love the paddle system. The bride's like "my dress picking day will not be chaotic "😂😂😂
Why is the Atlanta store stuck in the early 2010's...upload recent episodes guys....the dresses are all repeated and look so dated...
I think there must be some kind of licensing issue or something.
These are not new episodes. In the newer episodes I believe Lori has longer hair
She looked so beautiful and happy and it clearly went with her personality so well.
Dad ain’t getting married so ultimately it’s not his decision. I liked the pink dress best as well
She's his daughter so he must to say his opinions
@@noscopexx6791 yes but he shouldn't force her to dress the dress he picked her if she wants the pink dress
True and I respect that...my dad died when I was a teenager and wasn’t there to see me get married...I would of given anything For him to be there..even if he would of demanded I be in that first dress the bride wore in this episode. 🤣 (he wouldn’t of though..he would of been happy with what I picked).
Daddy is far too involved in the state of his daughter's "purity". Creeper.
She has such a sweet and loving personality. If only the world could have more of her
This one made me cry, her dad looks like my dad who passed years ago. Bless his heart for coming around and doing the right thing!
