I fell in love with The Return of the King game on PS2. That game played a big part on my childhood. I hope they'll bring it back again as a remaster. Goated game!!!
My cousin got me into LotR through conquest on Xbox. Battle for middle earth I couldn’t find on PS3, so I got conquest for myself and it was one of the biggest games me and my siblings played together
Second take accidentally left in audio. The final editor probably edited with their sound off since it didn't have to line up to anything and missed it. Either that or they're just farming interaction. I suspect they do that a lot cuz Jake pronounces well-known names really weird sometimes.
Crazy timing. Me and my brother just bought this for PS3 and blasted through both of the campaigns in one sitting. Hardest difficulty unlocked, about to go for a second ride. Most fun we've had in a good while.
Yes Lord of the rings conquest was my jam!!! It was the LotR version of OG Star Wars Battlefront. The evil campaign was an absolute blast. Still play this on my 360
@@ianfiedler5575 I really wish EA would rerelease this for modern consoles. All they have to do is bump the graphics up and reactivate the online servers. Kind of like what should’ve happened with Star Wars Battlefront classic collection.
LOTR Conquest is surprisingly addicting. I had a lot of fun using Aragorn and Frodo. Plus the maps were beautiful. another underrated Tolkien game is The Hobbit 2003. Now that one is my favorite

@@rileywatts3067 You had problems with the loading screens? They were pretty quick on my old PC. Even on my 2013 laptop 💻. As for the trolls and spiders. The Troll stealth part wasn’t bad but yeah Mirkwood was awful. Those annoying green poison spiders were the worst. That’s the only level I hate. Plus it was very easy to miss some secret stuff
Conquest is so underrated! But War in the North will always be my favorite LotR game, it’s the perfect balance of inserting a new story into existing canon and doing it in a compelling and interesting way. Maybe you guys could do a series for underrated LotR games? (Or you could actually probably do a whole list video of underrated LotR games, there are enough of them 😂)
I still have my LOTR Conquest disc. It’s beaten to all hell but I still got it. Playing as Sauron during the evil campaign was an amazing experience the first time.
I loved the heck out of The Return of the King on PC, the skill expression of the combos, the flashiness of it, the early attempt to blend between cinematic and gameplay, the charm of it. Still one of my favorites to this day!
Clicked this video without even properly seeing thumbnail image and only really saw the title of the video and once I had I said to myself “conquest” before you even said it. I loved that game.
I was literally just thinking of this game tonight and saw this pop up in my recommended. This game was my entire life for the summer before my sophomore year in High School and I loved it so much. I spent countless hours grinding away with the warrior in multiplayer servers. It was so addicting to me. I was a huge LOTR fan but I also just loved the simplicity of the game. I miss all of the late nights playing with random people, fighting with clans and exploiting glitches that would allow you to see hidden parts of the map.
Dude, this game is peak for me, I remember staying up all night with my two brothers and our brother from another mother. The classic 4 player couch split-screen team, literally turning the tide of the war of the ring, on legendary difficulty. We demolished, and we replayed so many times. This game was so fun, and I have such fond memories. Wish we would get a re-release. I would duo with my brother, he a warrior, me a scout. He would distract the enemy while I would assassinate.
@@LokiBeckonswow Pretty much for the same reason this one did... It was too late after the movies came out! The game was pretty great with friends but solo the AI was so fucking terrible lol
Man i remember playing this as an elementary school age kid over at some friends house back before I had my own console. This vid brought back so many forgotten memories and forgotten nostolgia. What an out of the blue surprise from gameranx, love this channel.
The Forces of Evil were easily the best side when palying multiplayer because of the Oliphaunts. The forces of Good had an answer for everything -- horses for wargs, Ents for trolls, eagles for fell beasts -- everything except Oliphaunts. Though unpolished and unbalanced, it was a fun game.
I loved this game so much. My cousin and I played this game for hours. Thank you for bringing back thousands of memories. If it ever got a remaster I would pay full price.
When I was in 4th grade, I slept over at my best buddys house, and we played 2 games on his Xbox, left4dead and LotR Conquest. We played the campaign until sunrise. It was my first all nighter, and my last memory of the guy befor his family moved to the city's. I'll never forget it. Thanks for the video.
I remember when I was playing this game when it was released. Boy, I feel the nostalgia.... even today every now and then I play this game just the campaign. Really loved this game indeed, I wish more people knew about it and make a remaster version of it!
Nah bro the Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers on PS2. The level with the cave troll, the forest level where the orcs could jumpscare you by jumping out of logs, and how can I forget protecting a door from hordes of orcs. These are all core memories I had from playing the game as a kid. Never finished the game. That damn door you have to protect towards the ending of the game was too fragile imo.
Man I loved this game. The original 2 Battlefront games were some of my favourite games of all time growing up. I loved Star Wars, but I also loved LotR, so imagine my surprise when my older cousin comes to me one day saying, “what if I told you about Battlefront, But Lord of the Rings?” Other heroes also include Isildur, Faramir and Eowyn on the Forces of Good side and Sauron, The freakin’ Balrog and one of the 9 Nazgûl on the Forces of Evil side
This was my first Lord of the Rings game and I absolutely loved it as somebody who was obsessed with battlefront. We need more games like this where are they
Third Age has always held my heart, first game I got on the GameCube, and something about it just never let me go. Played it endlessly on a loop for weeks.
There are people working on a sort of mod / remake of it that could end up turning into a sequel. They have a Discord but are laying low for now because they have already had legal encounters with Warner Bros, but at the same time will try to pitch it to them when the time comes to make it an official release.
I knew this sounded familiar, but as soon as falcon started talking about playing as the opposition being the orcs I remember that I had played this game. It was a very solid game for sure and he’s not lying. This is probably the best lord of the rings game or at least right there with the shadow series.
Stayed at my mum and dads the night before my weeding last month and found my old ps3 and this game, played it for a while game still holds up and was so nostalgic
Another interesting part about Conquest is that the multiplayer servers got shut down only a couple of years later. I got the game in 2011-2012 and the servers were already turned off
Really loved this back in the day, was shocked at how so few people played it. I was real sad when the servers shut down for good. Picked the game up at a sale at a games store, good times. The awesome score and the maps were awesome gotta say that i miss these kind of games.
I LOVED this game! I had it on PC, and it had access to all the maps. I also, never, played online. That was mostly because I wasn't an online player. Everything I played, I played solo. I lost the disk around the time I was a senior in high school, but man I would still be playing it if I could. Probably because I'm a die hard fan of LOTR.
I love this game. It’s one of my favorite 360 games out there. I remember renting it and keeping it for like 2 months extra just because I didn’t want to not play it when I got home from school. It needs a remaster 😅
I’ve been trying to remember this game FOR YEARS, I played this game so damn much growing up and could never remember what it was called, THANK YOU lol
Conquest was literally my childhood favorite game I loved it cuz I was into lord of the rings and it was so much fun in multiplayer and campaign that I got to play through with my little brother

Bro this game rocked! I remember playing the heck out of the demo cause I didn't have money to buy it until my best friend bought it and I would play it at his house... Epic!
This was my favorite game for years. I played a demo and fell in love right away, and bought the full game. The multiple players with unlocking the heroes felt amazing, huge wars, split screen co op for the whole story and just vs modes, I think imma play this with my brother tonight now thinking about it!!!
I'm actually playing it right now. I plugged my 360 in the other day just to look through the store and see if I missed anything in the past 10 years. Decided about 3 hours ago that I'm playing through both campaigns again on LotR Conquest. It's so fun and still holds up like every other game from Pandemic. The evil campaign being not only an alternate ending to Return of the King, but also a continuation is amazing.
I had two cousins come over and play four-player splitscreen games all of the time. So Halo and CoD and the OG Battlefronts were all common choices, and Lord of the Rings was commonly one of our go-tos. We loved that game, where us four could play in big multiplayer battles without going online and I am stoked you're talking about it. We need more 4-players splitscreen competitive games on Xbox. Right now the only "new AAA games" that do that in Halo. Gears did but unfortunately I'm the only one who likes to play it. I'd say Shadow of Mordor/War are the best LotR games, but Conquest will always hold a greater place in my heart.
I was playing the shit out of this game when it came out...And couldn't believe none of my friends knew about it even though we played battlefront together...The fact that you had control of trolls and ents with the mage and scout mechanics...so good, the Evil campaign with the alternate history was fascinating to me
I had that game, loved it. I still got the Xbox 360 disc, I sure wish it was backwards compatibility. My favorite level was the Shire, capture the ring was to easy as an troll/Ent. So I would use them slaughter enemies at their spawn point.
What a great pick for a video! I remember playing this game in coop with a friend. Both nuts about Middle-Earth. Thanks for this trip down memory lane!
LotR: Conquest is still being actively remade in unreal 5. It’s just under a different name now because they were scared of being hit with a decease and desist. I wish I could remember off the top of my head. I’ll update it once I find it lol, it’s not hard to just take a couple minutes of digging.
Yesssss I still have the physical copy of this game. I love this game so much as a huge fan of the movies already. Another thing I was hoping you would have mentioned was the bugs in this game. I'm not sure if others experienced the same thing I have but one bug I found was during an Instant Action game mode like Capture the Ring, when you get to play as Sauron you can be backstabbed. Now in the training I played as a scout and I couldn't backstab Sauron at all. Another bug was if you killed a scout while they backstab a teammate then you die as well. Really hated that bug when I was playing as a hero character.
When I first bought my 360, I bought two used games at a local store, Prince of Persia and Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Needless to say, I mostly played Conquest and I still absolutely love it. It’s so much fun and the villain campaign is incredible. It’ll never happen, but I’d go crazy if they announced a remaster/remake
Throughout highschool and college and well after graduation, my buddies and i would play this game constantly. It was an amazing multiplayer fun and gave us a lot of memories to talk over drinks. The last time we played it was 2 yrs ago. Wish a new one would come out. Or an enhanced version at least
You guys just proved my memory correct, I had a memory of playing a LotR battlefront game couch coop with a sibling and could not for the life of me remember the game name. It was so much fun. Core memory unlocked
I pre-ordered this game, I even still have the plastic nazgul sword it came with it too. What an amazing title. I literally never hear anyone talk about this. I bought a physical pc copy a decade ago just in case, glad I did. Good luck finding this lol.
I used to love this game back in the day. I remeber there was this bug when trying to play 4 player split screen where the last screen was in like really high exposure black and white. Game was so fucn we all still enjoyed even with the wacky screen.
this was one of the first games i remember actually playing competitive online on the PS3. Everyday after school for months me and my brother would play online taking turns, such good "battlefront" vibes. Though I think the 3rd age is still my favourite lotr game. this vid brought back some good memories, thanks falcon!
Lotr Conquest was a lot of fun mainly due to the special campaign where you play as the evil characters. Even Treebeard ends up joining your side as "he now serves as a bonfire", good times.
This video breaks my heart because I never had a chance to play this game and it looks so cool. Every time I hear about it I realise it's not available anymore on PC and the physical copies had limited number of instalations so I'm doomed to long for this game forever
As a lotr nerd, this, along with war in the north and the third age were all criminally underrated. I would play these on my series X still if they were backwards compatible. This game in particular, I was in high school and went to GameStop and the guy said “just so you know this game is terrible” and my 15 year old self said “oh yeah it’s not for me” lol. Needless to say, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
The BFME games are my all time favourites. I spent a ridiculous amount of time simulating fictional as well as canonical battles. The Dwarves were my goto faction.
Dude. Hell yes. I LOVED this game. I've never seen the movies, so all my LOTR knowledge comes from this game. Not saying it's a lot, but it's been enough to hold a conversation here and there. So glad to see a video on this game!
The main thing I got is that "But, yeah, ultimately, "Conquest" is more than the sum of all of its parts." Since a whole section of voiceover was repeated. Oh, amd also that this game looks badass,
I have my PC DVD version in my collection right here (looking at it right now). This game had so much potential. With some post launch support, it could have been great!
One of my favorite underrated games from the 360/PS3 era. Growing up as a fantasy fan instead of sci-fi I always wished for a battlefront type game with swords and this game delivered.
The PS2 TTT and RotK games are both total licensed classics, and I played the hell out of them back in the day, but the one I consider completely underrated is The Third Age. It’s not a perfect game; there are some repetitive bits and a couple characters have noticeably canned lines instead of original dialogue (coughEomercough), but it’s still a fun and creative RPG that runs parallel to the trilogy’s storyline, mostly following in the footsteps of first Gandalf, then Aragorn. You get to play through all the major battles and even have several of the cinematic characters in your party, with their own unique abilities. You can even flip the script and play as evil characters, actively hunting down the main characters of the game! It got average to low-high scores back in the day, but it’s much more fun and strategic than critics gave it credit for at the time. I highly recommend checking it out to any LotR fans out there, especially if you also love RPGs.
I fell in love with The Return of the King game on PS2. That game played a big part on my childhood. I hope they'll bring it back again as a remaster. Goated game!!!

Gameranx you guys kickass
I used to play countless nights until dawn with my brother back in the day. I still remember those days. Think was 2010 or 11, can't tell
2003's The Hobbit for the PS2 (and other consoles I believe) is a super underrated Action/Adventure game!
Conquest is amazing. I played it daily for months on PS3 and played it online often. So fun
This is a classic one. I've got so many fond memories playing LOTR conquest
War in the North was amazing co-op experience with an original story and characters.
LoTR Shadow of War was a mobile ARPG that was shut down a few years ago, but the time I had with it was unforgettable
Me and my friends LOVED coming home from school and booting conquest up. We were gutted when they closed the servers. I wish they would bring it back
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
I used to love this game back in the day. I remeber there was this bug when trying to play 4 player split screen where the last screen was in like really high exposure black and white. Game was so fucn we all still enjoyed even with the wacky screen.
Battle for Middle Earth 2 will always be the GOAT.
War in The North was GREAT!
I stopped playing Conquest because I could not get pass the Elephants.
this was one of the first games i remember actually playing competitive online on the PS3.
This game was my childhood. I’ve been looking for a copy for so long. It was genuinely so much fun to play
Conquest is a very popular game. I regularly talk about it with my brother and friends. Definitely not forgotten
