I've got a Clivia Miniata here in the USA that's nearly 20 years old. She hasn't missed a year of blooming since I bought I her from Lowe's. When I bought her she was just a single plant with a small bloom stalk. Now she's grown into almost 10 plants in one big pot. I got lucky and remembered to keep some seeds from last year I've now got a baby from her. There's no amount of money that I would take for her. She's a member of the family.
Thank you Tanya for all the wonderful videos. Lots of information and inspiration. New sub here from Australia. Please keep them coming. Cheers Cheryl.
Great video,I have one I got from a friend I have it in a cool place around 50 f just wondering when I bring it out of dormancy and when do I start to water and feed it
I live in Redlands CA. I got a clivia plant 9 years ago. I haven't seen any flowers. I have it in a pot under a tree. The plant has brown tips. What can I do?
Hi Anita, they may require a feeding because they are in pots. Water with a water-soluble fertilizer and follow the instructions on the packaging. And you can add an organic pelletized fertiliser around the base of the plant for a slow release
@@TanyaVisserTheGardener thank you I do feed with soluble plant food but will try it with the organic Pelletier fertilliser. Thank you for all the great videos .

Wow I've never seen those other colours of Clivia before!
New York City here. They bloom indoors in February. Multiply by root division. Plastic pots are OK. Yellow clivia are more difficult, not sure why.

I have a young cluvia miniata that has 9 leaves so it's not mature enough to bloom. Does it still require a dormancy period ? Thanks !
Yes they do need a couple months of 50s or below (but above freezing) to get them to bloom fullest.
I've got 4 Clovias in pots. But they haven't flowered for me since I've bought them. They are 10 years old. What can I do to help them? Thanks
