It’s actually pronounced Cliv-e-a as in the family name Clive. The first one was named for Charlotte Percy (née Clive) one of the governesses to the future Queen Victoria, later the Duchess of Northumberland.

Do the seeds have germination inhibitor or something like iris seeds do? I feel Peter when he's saying that it is about healing and coming forward to make new stuff and recover, as well as how addictive it is once you get interested in one genus and everything else starts fascinating you!
since 2005 they've just been everywhere, oversaturated ... always just thought of them as a gaudy orange agapanthus with less reliable flowering ... the red dwarf one I like
