The top soil is wet and a bit messy, she doesnt wear any knee pad or gloves. Naturally kneeling down and getting stuff done without complaining everything. Now thats what I call a gardener!

Grand and Glorious video. You started out with the blue! The only one I want! I'm a very beginner, never tried educating myself, but now my husband is gardening, not very well, so I'm trying to help with info. I LOVE that you actually teach everything, starting at digging the hole. Plus you have basic rules to follow like "prune them all when they finish flowering." I thought it would be way more involved, a different time for each plant. I'm going to see if you dig more holes with other kinds of plants. Thank you again!

Very very informative video. Thank you! Hydrangeas are my absolute favorite flower. I have 8 so far but I didn’t really know how to take care of them until now that I am watching videos like yours. I live in Los Angeles California and here it gets very sunny so the leaves get burn. Now I know they like what you said. Shade. Today I moved them to a different area. I have them for 3 years and although they are growing and blooming every spring they could have been much better if I had watch your video to learn before. I hope they survive now that I moved them. Here they are blooming now so I should be pruning them after summer. I am not sure what kind/variety I have. I buy them at a supermarket called Trader Joe’s. They sell them so you can have them inside your house because they are full of flowers but what I do it’s plant them and they grow perfect in my back yard.

There’s no need to check that the months correspond to “ours” in countries such as New Zealand. I’m just in the process of re-potting my hydrangeas so the guidelines fit perfectly. Next step: purchase the special hydrangea fertiliser. Exciting! Thanks so much for this informative video!

Great video! In Canada they do beautifully during our harsh winters at -40. They come back in the Spring which is the end of May, beginning of June. I have mine in full sun and they love it. However, they must be watered and I put mulch over the earth to keep in the moisture! I also keep the soil acidic for my hydrangeas! I have never seen mould. They are beautiful!

@Animals Are Our Angels - Interesting. What part of Canada are you in? Southern? I also am in Canada, northwest BC, and I have a couple of containers of them bought this spring at Costco, and am wondering about transplanting them into the ground, but am a bit afraid as same harsh winters here as well. What type of prep care do you give them to last through the winter? This is my 1st year of owning hydrangeas...Anyway, thank you, Greatly Appreciated!

    Tanya, hi there.
I love the advice I get listening to your gardening tips. Thank you. I would never be able to do it on my own.
My garden surprises me every season with a colourful array of shades of the rainbow, foliage textures, birds, butterflies and last but not least, ladybirds and bees.
I'd love to send you a few pics if I may?
Our home is open to the road. Should I or my husband be in the garden we are complimented by passers by.
Even youngsters come prancing around my garden even summersaulting on the lawn. My heart wants to burst to be able to give so much joy.
One pretty little girl was fascinated with this little white flower peeping out of the tar on our driveway.
It's Cape Nature at its best.
All it takes is gentle, loving care.
    I sure am blessed.
    WE LOVE CAPE TOWN.
