Joe Rogan, no question. Chuck didn’t pick up grappling until later in his life so either joe is fighting an 80 year old man, or a young man with no ground game.

Leopards do not hunt Silverback Gorrilas. In this video it was about the Silverback. A young gorilla can be prey for many other predators, just like any young animal.
A Silverback gorilla can lift 4000 pounds . And is 10 times stronger than a human . Grizzly bear lift about 1200 pounds . 3- 6 times stronger than a human.

@@jahseh8194 i can do that for reps now! I expect the strongest gorilla on the planet to easily beat any and all worlds strongest man records in any event involving upper body strength!
Grizzlies/Brown Bears have literally decapitated fully grown Moose. There is no way on God's green earth a Silverback Gorilla walks away the winner in a fight between the two. Silverback - 400~450lbs, Brown bear - +1500lbs. So many people on here keep saying dumb stuff like "the gorilla might have a strength advantage." They aren't stronger than a brown bear. They look strong because there's less fur and so the muscles are more defined. But it's not like a bear is weak! They're some of the strongest land creatures in existence and they have PLENTY of muscle. There is no contest.
i don’t know.. there was one that climbed that real big building in new york one time.. even knocked some planes out of the air.. i’m betting that he could beat a grizzly bear up..
i think the gorilla would have the edge in striking, not necessarily more power but more coordination, but the gorilla is fucked if he hasnt worked on his takedown defence well enough then the bear can take him to the ground and dominate. bear is way better at jujitsu and are known in the animal kingdom for their awesome hip tosses and ability to dominate in side control and bypass guards on the ground. id give it to the bear in round 3 by submision or TKO. but who knows, if steve mazzagatti is referee then anything could happen.
If you ever seen the true strength of a girzzly in person, no way a gorilla could even hurt a grizzly. The skull if a gizzly is so thick most calliber bullets cannot even crack it let alone pierce it. Grizzlies can kill 12-1300 pound moose with one blow sometimes, and they are no docile animal themselves. Seriously having seen both. A silver back makes a man look like a infant, but a grizzly bear has super hero level strength. You seriously cannot measure that level of insane strong. It is clear if you watch a grizzly bear up close, those claws can take down full trees with a hit....
I'm high, so I'll try this... Grizzly bear kills a gorilla any day of the week unless it's already injured or starving. Grizzlies can rip fucking TREES OPEN. I'd pay to watch a cage fight between a silverback and a grizzly. I'd put my $$$ on the bear though. As for the cat... well... pound for pound... I think cats are probably the most powerful animal on the planet... right behind the weasel family. Imagine a fucking 900 lbs wolverine.
True, but a lion I feel like it would be more agile, besides having sharper claws. If the lion gets a good opening at the neck is game over. Even more if it's a tiger since they are basically the biggest and strongest felines in the world.
@@unfortunately010 Gorilla is more interesting though as an opponent to a bear, in my opinion, because the bear clearly has size and strength on his side, but the gorilla can grab and is much more intelligent. Whereas with a Lion or Tiger, at the end of the day it's claws vs. claws and bite vs. bite; with the cat being a little more agile, but the bear being way stronger, heavier, and more resilient. I'm pretty sure one or two well-aimed paw strikes from a bear would crack a lion's head like a walnut.
Bear claws are sharp yes but not razor sharp. People have this mis conception that bears can cut shit in half when in fact the only thing to back this is some Russian guys tale. Theres never been any proof of a bear cutting anything in half or decapitating someone or something.
thomas rodriguez no. I think the gorillas will always lose. But people exaggerate the power of a bear. The most dangerous mammal on American land, yes highly possible but definitely not out here cutting moose in half with a single strike.
thomas rodriguez I never said that. I speaking straight to their motor skills. Do they have the tools to dominate?? Absolutely. But the motor skills to utilize their offenses to the best of their abilities?? Idk.
I just saw a video where they compared the two; bear wins like 95% of the time. It’s not just that bears are noteably bigger, stronger and with a more powerful bite. It’s fighting style and muscle type. We prime apes have a more structured fixed in place muscle system. While bears , cats and most predators have a looser more slideable system. So a good slash to us will cut us open while for a cat or bear the skin will slide and absorb most of a blow leaving a shallow gash. But the big bear advantage is fighting style. Gorillas got nothing more than a slap punch and biting. Neither would be devastating to a bear. However the bear has a bite and claws that will rip a gorilla open.
@@oskain from a technical standpoint...hes not wrong. Gorillas can lift up to 1800ibs of dead weight (crazy to think about) and BARELY has a stronger bite force. But of course I dont think that would really factor into the fight seeing as the Gorilla is going against a literal monster lol
I mean are you discounting the mobility and strength and intelligence of a gorilla a little bit? You think a bear wont care about the punch and bite force of a gorilla? Think again, gorillas can box and if they grab you you are getting chokeslamed or slammed upside down to break your neck. Id say gorilla vs grizzly depends on circumstances most of the time.
It’s like Godzilla vs King Kong. I don’t give a fuck how smart the ape is, the animal with more weapons will kick his ass when it’s already stronger and/or faster.
@@toadisgod3617 have you ever heard of koko? He was a gorilla who knew 1000 words in Sign Language and understood over 2000 englisch words. Gorillas are highly intelligent.
Here’s the thing. The Grizzly is a predator, and the gorilla is a herbivore. Experience here matters greatly, even at equal weights a full grown experienced carnivore that kills for a living is going to beat a herbivore. The predator is designed to attack, kill and eat meat. Sorry, I love gorillas, but they lose to predators of equal size. Gorillas fighting for mating rites or territory is just two huge beast that are trying to dominate the other, not a life or death fight. Grizzlies are like the old Mike Tyson, they want to beat your ass, kill you and eat your babies, except Grizzlies really do this.
Heres the big thing. Grizzly have like 6 inch claws.. but Gorillas have been known too pick up logs and toss em. Id pay PPV prices to watch this match.
@@PeterSedesse Someone needs to give Dana a call, "Fight Island" is supposed to be finished in july, a Grizzly VS Gorilla main event would make billions for the UFC!
The log the gorilla picks up is probably from the tree that the grizzly snapped. Bears have Size, speed, and power over a gorilla and they have foot wide paws with 6inch carving knives for claws. Bears are active hunters that kill heavier prey than gorillas. A gorilla would just beat his chest and flick some shit at the bear before becoming his next meal.
Big grizzlies are bigger, heavier, faster, stronger AND have experience and some skill at killing other animals, when required. Their claws are better weapons too. Gorillas generally do not kill to survive, their strength and aggression is used to establish or maintain social hierarchy. Grizzlies also keep coming, even after sustaining serious wounds like gunshot too, there's documentation of that.
I'm going with the Grizzly on this one! Every video I've seen of Silverbacks fighting, their movements are awkward, stiff, and lack a certain dexterity that's needed to take control in a fight. With a grizzly however, the fight looks absolutely terrifying, majestic, and technical all the same. If I didn't know otherwise, I would have thought that bears have taken Martial Arts training at some point in their life. They employ techniques from Judo, BJJ, and Olympic Wrestling in order to grapple, pin, and control their opponent. Not to mention their bite and claws. A gorilla seems to want to hit you one time and then storm off. A grizzly seems to enjoy a good fight, and won't leave until it has successfully enforced its will upon you. And then there's the size. Sorry Donkey Kong, but Banjo is murdering you.
Now you know why khabib wrestled with a bear and not a gorilla Yes gorillas cant throw a punch to save their life And I do mean that literally in this case Bears storm in for the legs Swipe at the belly And gnaw at the nape of the becks with the type of aggression that is beeded to win fights But a small bla bear and a chimpanzee is much more of an interesting fight

you guys do know a bear is almost 3 times bigger than a gorilla right? and twice as tall. It's not even close. @@Jackaroo. Leopards have been known of killing gorillas but not Silverbacks. Silverbacks are just too strong for a leopard even for surprise attacks. On the bear vs gorilla I think the grizzly has the advantage of winning though.

thumbs and primate intelligence would definitely prevail gorilla also has huge teeth would probably immobilize the bear then bite it's neck from behind. If just a battle of physical prowess, however, I think a large grizzly is more powerful than a large silverback
If you’ve seen footage of 2 grizzlies fighting, you know a gorilla wouldn’t stand a chance. The hide and fur of a grizzly is too thick for a gorilla to effectively bite, and the grizzly’s weight advantage, 2-3 times the weight of a gorilla, would negate the gorilla’s strength. Plus the advantage of the grizzly’s claws…the fight would be one-sided
A grizzly is not 2-3x the size of a large gorilla. Griz are def heavier on average, but big gorillas are well over 400lbs and can lift over 4000lbs. Gorillas also have more bite force and accelerate faster. Add on that grizzly claws are nowhere near as sharp as people are saying and I think it'd be more competetive than people realize.

It also has a much larger mouth and can do devastating bite damage up close. What can the gorilla punch or tear for damage? Only the face. What can it bite? Only the face. Is the gorilla ever gonna reach the face of a grizzly? No. Gorillas are not predators, grizzlies are - apex predators.
Couple comments: 1) brown bears and grizzly bears are the same species. The brown bears are just larger I think because of the diet (more fish and meats near the coasts vs more berries inland) 2) gorillas live in harems of one male to like five females. The reason for the imbalance is because of fighting for mating rights among the males. So gorillas absolutely do fight. 3) I think acceleration/agility is more relevant than top speed in a fight. 4) I’d probably still take the grizzly in 5
Yes they are the same species, idk why everyone thinks they're different. Like what, do ppl think there's like a magical line between the coastal brown bear area and the inland grizzly bear area? And what do the brown bears and grizzlies say "okay we won't breed with each other passed this point between coastal and inland?" 🤣🤣🤣??? It's all location, just the more inland brown bears are called "grizzly" and the more coastal/Alaskan brown are called "brown bears" for whatever reason. All the same bears but the more coastal you go the bigger they usually are. So how close to the coast/ how much bigger does the bear have to be to be considered "brown" and not "grizzly." Then there is the brown bears that are trapped on Kodiak island and are called "Kodiak bears" because they live on Kodiak island. Again it's the same bear but in a very food abundant location, and very isolated from anything that could be a threat, which is the reason they've prolly gotten so much larger than other brown bears. I guess I really don't understand the difference between any of these bears cuz there's really no line to draw that sets them apart. So since the brown bears that live in Alaska close to the coast are called "brown bears" and the brown bears that live inland are called "grizzlies" what are the brown bears that live between these two called, Brizzly bears maybe? And at what point is it a Brizzly and not a brown or grizzly? Is there some magical line in between that doesn't allow them to breed with each other? And yes I agree the bear would beat the gorilla 100% of the time
Grizzly bears are a type of brown bear. There are brown bears that are not grizzlies. As to point two, gorillas fight each other. But it is more show-fighting than anything else, they don't typically fight to kill.

I was hunting neither moose or bear. Was about a hundred yards downwind from it. A really big grizzly exploded on that moose, taking it straight to the ground and tearing the hell out out it. Never even heard it until it hit that moose. Didn't know it was there. Moose never stood a chance. I was very well armed and still shit myself. Was 5 miles from any improved road. I stayed downwind and hauled ass. I can't see anything standing up to a hit like that. That grizzly had that moose on the ground, by the back of its head and was just ripping it apart. Never stood a chance. Especially since he never knew it was coming. That moose was 4-5 times the size of a gorilla . It was rut season too. The two don't even fight the same. Grizzlies are a lot faster than people realize. Once its committed, everything from them claws , paws and jaws are a kill shot. Luckily, the two will never cross each other in the wild. They just have to contend with the real killers. Us.

However, with changing climates extending grizzly ranges north, the two species are increasingly encountering one another. Our results indicate that grizzly bears are socially dominant during interspecific competition with polar bears for marine mammal carcasses during "autumn." Journal of Mammalogy, 24 November 2015 Put more bluntly, when polar bears and grizzly bears are both competing for food, its the polar bears that are more likely to walk away from conflict and leave the prize for grizzly bears. @@viper2148 thats not the bottom line at all. It just means the polar bears are less interested in conflict, doesnt speak to their strength whatsoever. If an MMA fighter walks away from a fight was he therefore less likely to win it?
I just did a little research. It has been documented that a Silverback gorilla can not even win a fight with a leopard (most of the time) so a Grizzly would undoubtedly own a gorilla.
Large male Leopards get lone juvenile and senior gorillas occasionally. And the adult gorillas are shy and peaceful so we think they don’t retaliate. Also a leopard is more densely muscled and more endurance than a large bear. A silver back male gorilla has incredible endurance cuz of its upright lungs and it has killer force strength if for whatever reason he is enraged and actually wants to fight a bear (which is a forager more than a killer) the gorilla could make light work of even a polar bear
@The Pack gorilla vs bear is not apples to apples so the bears superior size is not as big an advantage as it is with humans. Gorillas are extremely peaceful but an abused one in a Chinese zoo killed a moose with a single punch. A gorilla could do the same thing to a bear
Grizzlies are bigger, faster, have claws and fight each other often in the spring mating season. They take down very large game easily and they’re more aggressive all around. Silver backs do have a heavier bite force, but it isn’t much and probably wouldn’t matter with the grizzly/brown bear. Gorillas do fight each other, but are mostly calmer and they don’t usually hunt except smaller animals but mostly eat vegetation. Also, gorillas actually don’t climb in trees once they’re bigger like chimps can, and certainly not as fast a bear. Also, Brown bear and grizzlies are the same species, brown bears are just larger grizzlies that live usually in Alaska.
Actually all grizzlies are brown bears. Brown bear is a overarching term. Yes, there are larger brown bears in Alaska but you might be thinking of Kodiak bears.

Gotta agree with rogan, a grizzly is strong as hell too, and it has built in knives on it's, hands, and a jaw built for crushing. Silverback would put up a good fight, but I think the predatory nature of the grizzly and it's natural assets would give it the advantage.
The problem with this discussion is that they haven’t even mentioned the fact that gorillas will bleed profusely from a bear claw. There is literally nothing a gorila can do to stop a bear from clawing it to death. The reason is that unlike a gorila and humans for that matter a bear can move within it’s skin. A gorilla like humans have tight skin bears have thick fur and loose skin backed by thick fat. No way a gorilla will have a chance.

Not only that but Grizzlies have been know to kill animals as massive as a Moose. While Gorillas have been know to be killed by Leopards. Grizzly take this fight no issues.
Grizzlies have also been known to be killed by wolverines something that has no right being able to kill one, yet it happens. Maybe it’s Rock Paper Scissors and gorilla beats wolverine beats bear which beats gorilla. I’m just pointing out that power isn’t everything and wolverines show it
Could maybe work though, if they built something that was able to withstand a lot of force yet also be able to read that force you could probably figure out the animals pulling strength. You would just have to find the right incentive to get the animal to really want to get to whatever would be underneath the sensor. But at the same time this only works with animals that can grab stuff so it's pointless for a bear.
The only thing a gorilla might have over a grizzly is it’s ability to finesse (using it’s opposable thumb to grab the bear or environmental weapons) but even then gorilla are no where near humans in accuracy in motor control so throwing rocks or eyegauging would be very difficult if not impossible, especially since it is a gorilla we are speaking about and not a tactical minded human.
We humans are the only primates that can effectively throw rocks around. Look how other big apes throw shit in zoos or nature, they don't put a lot of force, and then usually fall over. It's because of their bone structure, they don't have a good stance for support, or good levers for more power
Gorillas form of fighting involves mainly up-close grappling and mindless slapping/slamming type motions. Useless against a 500lb tank with killer instincts.
Gorillas weight half or even less than a grizzlie . They have scene Grizzlies move 800lb to 1000 lb boulders in search of food . But with that said Silver Backs are one of the strongest animals pound for pound , in some cases Gorillas are known to lift 8 to 10 Times their Body weight. . The claws are advantage but THUMBS WIN OUT! Especially when theyre attached to a 500lb, snap trees like twigs with articulation that even (Barbies squeeze) Ken cant manage! @@hamonryechinaski180 Bruh u could look up a gorilla charging people right now LMAO. Anyway all the grizzly would have to do is claw him good and gg ez no re. Plus gorillas rarely use tools like chimps do. They swing and bite and grapple. And the whole argument of “Oh well gorillas can lift 4000lbs is completely false. So when they meet it’ll go like this. They stare down then the grizzly gets on his hind legs and the gorilla rushes in and tackles the bear. The bear out of instinct rolls over as the gorilla attempts to bite and grab. However the bear throws him off stunning the gorilla to which he mauls and kills it. :)
@Bhim Biswa aside from that has anyone forgot what it looks like when gorillas slam his fists? Those huge bricked hands would send the grizzly through 3 walls.
Bears can wrestle, would smack a gorilla over if it charged, could whack a gorilla out, rip its inferior skin and muscle types open and just utterly destroy it. Back in the day people hunted gorillas easily but bears where feared greatly. Leopards kill gorrillas nine times out of ten but bears kill tigers seven times out of ten. Not even a close fight in my opinion and I've been researching unbiased for the last 2 hours. Edit: bears are also built different, they bite and scratch each other to no effect. They have different muscle fibres which help them to sustain much more damage. Gorillas have the same as us. Also bears are known to withstand multiple gunshots but I highly doubt gorillas could do the same.
Speed. Grizzly : 35mph Silverback : 25mph Weight. Grizzly : 600lbs Silverback : 350lbs Weapons. Grizzly : Large jaw. 1250psi bit force. 20 claws. 2-4" in length. Silerback : Small jaw. 1300psi bite force. 10 fingers, including 2 opposable thumbs. 10 toes, including 2 opposable big toes. I'm going to give it to the grizzly.
the biggest attribute you're leaving out is bone density. Back when people used to watch exotic animals fight for entertainment, grizzlies would always just use their paw as a club that would instantly shatter the skull of whatever it was fighting. People said that grizzly fights were boring because it was never a contest.
Bite using going to do shit on a bear with that size of mouth it would just be a chunk of hair it would be close and I'm willing to risk the lives of both of these animals to put this argument to rest
The gorilla has a lot of issues actually fighting other types of predators. It lacks the defense bears and big cats have on its skin and fur. Bear hyde is like most other animals whereas gorillas have skin and fat like humans. The skin and fur of a cat is detached from the muscles, the gorilla skin is not loose at all and tears easy.

Bear claws are sharp yes but not razor sharp. People have this mis conception that bears can cut shit in half when in fact the only thing to back this is some Russian guys tale. Theres never been any proof of a bear cutting anything in half or decapitating someone or something.
So you really think a blow from a Silver back gorilla can't knock out a bear? Oh btw they also have sharp teeth.
thomas rodriguez no.

Big grizzlies are bigger, heavier, faster, stronger AND have experience and some skill at killing other animals, when required. Their claws are better weapons too. Gorilla muscle is more dense! They are stronger
This is no contest. Grizzly would destroy a gorilla. Can't believe this is even a question.
A grizzly is not 2-3x the size of a large gorilla.
Griz are def heavier on average, but big gorillas are well over 400lbs and can lift over 4000lbs. Gorillas also have more bite force and accelerate faster.

2) gorillas live in harems of one male to like five females.

Several years ago I was watching a full grown male moose , easing thru 4-5 foot growth on the edge of a clear cut. I had a 45-70 rifle across my chest and an 454 revolver on my waist. Us.
Exactly. The world record brown bear had paw pads the size of a manhole cover with 13” claws and 7” canines, it stood 13 foot 9 inches on back legs. Would absolutely obliterate a pack of gorillas.

Polar bear destroys a grizzly
@@Taharqo.saved.the.Hebrew
A study from 2015 looked at interactions between grizzly and polar bears. Historically, grizzly and polar bear territories haven’t overlapped. However, with changing climates extending grizzly ranges north, the two species are increasingly encountering one another. Especially along Alaska’s north coast, events like beached whales create environments where the two bears will compete for very large meals.
Here’s a sample directly from the study.
Our results indicate that grizzly bears are socially dominant during interspecific competition with polar bears for marine mammal carcasses during "autumn." Journal of Mammalogy, 24 November 2015
Put more bluntly, when polar bears and grizzly bears are both competing for food, its the polar bears that are more likely to walk away from conflict and leave the prize for grizzly bears.
The bottom line: in a fight between a polar bear and grizzly bear, the grizzly bear reigns supreme.
@@viper2148 not more simply put in reality though because we haven't seen them duke it out before. damn really? i thought a leopard was weak
@@NavoTheTrueGod Leopards are monsters, they kill gorillas even at a huge weight disadvantage.
@The Pack Joe Rogan mofuggin references it in this video !

Lmaooooo foreal and then how giggling at the end why would i think a gorilla is a giant dog these guys are loaded lol
The only thing a gorilla might have over a grizzly is it’s ability to finesse (using it’s opposable thumb to grab the bear or environmental weapons) but even then gorilla are no where near humans in accuracy in motor control so throwing rocks or eyegauging would be very difficult if not impossible, especially since it is a gorilla we are speaking about and not a tactical minded human.
gorillas have 0 sense of fighting, grizzlys are built to fight
We humans are the only primates that can effectively throw rocks around. Look how other big apes throw shit in zoos or nature, they don't put a lot of force, and then usually fall over. It's because of their bone structure, they don't have a good stance for support, or good levers for more power
Gorillas form of fighting involves mainly up-close grappling and mindless slapping/slamming type motions. Useless against a 500lb tank with killer instincts.
Gorillas weight half or even less than a grizzlie . They have scene Grizzlies move 800lb to 1000 lb boulders in search of food . But with that said Silver Backs are one of the strongest animals pound for pound , in some cases Gorillas are known to lift 8 to 10 Times their Body weight. . Yup, a gorilla's skin can be cut easily by sharp objects which is why they avoid jaguars instead of fighting them.
