Thank you for this amazing video!! FINALLY your the first person who has uploaded this video that iv been searching for ages... Please continue uploading such great videos
Amazing video. Lots of love. You are the first person on this necked neck chicken and also you explain full details. Greats jobs. Keep it up. Wants more video on farming this naked neck chicken
I LOVE naked necks! I didn’t used to. I used to think they were really weird looking. But after meeting them I really love their personality. Their look is er interesting.
They really are something else! My absolute favorites are the Naked Neck silkies. They are super sweet and really weird! I'm glad you've joined the Naked Neck-loving side! We are few and far! 😂❤
Possibly, doesn’t seem to put them at any advantage or disadvantage here, the only concern I’ve really had with them is the potential for sunburn, but haven’t had an issue thankfully!
Naked necks are not sex linked. You can usually tell if they are hens or roosters by about 5-6 weeks (if they have a single comb like mine do) like with most other breeds that don’t have a naked neck. 😁 You should be able to tell based on comb/wattle color and size. Males have larger more reddish combs/wattles and females have smaller combs that are usually a yellow/pink color. Females also have little to no wattle growth when they are around 5-6 weeks old. 😊 Hope that answers your question! If not just let me know!
Love the knowledge of genetics and the presentation for us lay-people. You took the complex to the understandable on cross-genetics. I fell upon a screaming deal today on 25 Transylvania Naked Neck chicks. Do you prefer the name "Turken" or the UK version of "Churkey"? Speaking of genetics....Is it EVER possible for a turkey to successfully mate with a chicken?!!!!
Thank you! ❤️ So glad it was useful to you! I personally prefer Turken. 😄 I don’t think a Turkey and chicken could ever mate naturally, but perhaps they could do something strange in a lab? I doubt it would make it past the embryo stage if at all. 🙂
Sigrid Van Dort’s Chicken Colour Genetics book is great! Although I haven’t read it, I’ve been told Brian Reader’s Genetics of the Domestic Fowl is a great place to start as well. 😊
Thank you! Yes! You absolutely can breed for color! I have several color genetics videos on this channel. 😊 Which bird’s color in the video were you interested in?

@@CedarShadeFarm thanks for quick response. no Color in particular. Well..... i always liked the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte color. I used to raise Cockatiels but chickens have so many more colors. I am just curious. Thanks.
@@donactfussy9890 Awesome! Blue Laced Red is a really cool color. It’s pretty complicated, so if you’re looking to get it, it’s much easier to buy blue laced red birds as opposed to making it from scratch. If you have any questions about it though, let me know! 🙂
Or one could be heterozygous, and one homozygous for the naked neck. Regular necked chicks are only possible if both parents are heterozygous for a naked neck. 😁

Thanks for the suggestion! What would you like to learn? 😁
I raised this breed for many years and never breed two naked neck and got a regular neck .
We get regular necks from our heterozygous pair all the time! 😊 Yours must’ve both been homozygous naked necks. 😁

Egg hatching naked neck hen
The naked neck Roos are mean.. we had to get rid of ours
Sorry to hear that. 😔 Our Naked Neck rooster and all of his sons are sweethearts. They aren’t all bad! 😉
It's hit or miss. We had two "hens" turn out to be roos. One was very aggressive. The other was a sweetheart. One became dinner. One we kept.
ये बहुत जल्दी तैयार होते है मेरे yanha ये breed खतम हो गए
I love your info. Bit your

Do you know about aseel chickens?
We actually do have Aseels in America! 😁 Really cool looking breed although I have yet to see one in person!
@@CedarShadeFarm i have an infertile female aseel. If possible make a video on reason of female chicken infertility and its treatment 🙂
It's call pealneck
In America, they are referred to as Naked Necks. This is the terminology the standard uses.
It's not call naked neck
They are no match for Luther the white naked-neck Rooster........Just saying. 🤡🐔🕷🤡
