Yes..Phil was very knowledgable about music especially (underground)music. We all were the same way. We ALL traded Cassettes then CD's also bands would pair up and record a split 7in. Fun fact. They paid some guy $10 per punch to get that album cover. Story goes he took around 50 punches that day to get the right picture for the cover.
My buddy is 6'6" and at the time immoveable... hed never heard of or saw a pit, he asked" what are they doin' Bub?" I said " theyre moshin' man .." i wanna mosh.." he said..." okeedokee" and it was pretty violent, the dudes with boots and suspenders and shit was spinnin' opposite.... but, about ten miutes in, my dude standing there, arms crossed on his chest looking around like Hannibal on the battlefield... just us two there.... i said " thats uh...thats not really the spirit of a pit bub..." .." what?? we won right?"
True story. They opened with this when I saw them at the international ballroom in Atlanta, it was a big warehouse with a stage on one side and a bar on the other.......the entire thing was a pit.
The album's cover is a photo of a man being punched in the face and was shot by photographer Brad Guice, who also shot the photo for the Cowboys from Hell cover. The band told their label that they wanted "something vulgar, like a dude getting punched". The first version of the cover that the label brought to the band showed a boxer with a punching glove, but the band did not like it, so the label produced a second version, with the bare fist. According to Vinnie Paul, the man on the cover was paid $10 a punch and was hit in the face 31 times to get the right picture. However, Brad Guice stated that the man, who was named Sean Cross, was never actually hit.
Dude, I really like your reaction a lot. Very genuine, and very cool how you go the extra mile to learn about them. Their music and personalities are important to a lot of people.
These guys are e amazing. I've learned so much about them, it's really tragic how things ended. Heres a link to a Pantera project that I've been working on ruclips.net/video/4hpuwDS73L0/видео.html
This song was propably the best thing I could hear as a teenager, instead of spending my time doing whatever the fuck every teenager would do to waste time, I would pop up this and headbang till my neck decided that was good enough or I would have to o to a hospital. I love this song with my heart, the lyrics are a social critique punched right directly into your face and the instrumental feels like a kick into your stomach, I probably spent more time learning the lyrics than studying hahaha.
The shows were amazing. The pits were amazing to be in. Should do Suicide Note Part 2, or both parts back to back just because, Slaughtered, or Great Southern Trendkill. Honestly any Pantera is good for me. Seeing your reaction to them is what got me to subscribe. I agree with what one said about doing Slayer as well. Some of the most brutal pits I've been in.
Being in the crowd during this song was amazing, Phil would get the crowd to sing "Fucking Hostile" and were would all stop in or tracks just to belt it out. Just pure epicness
Great song, great reaction, I loved watching you genuinely loving what you heard. Panthers was amazing. I saw them a few times, the last was in NYC at the Hammerstein Ballroom, a small venue that was 95% standing room. Craziest mosh pit ever, high energy show, just incredible. I made it up to the third “row”, within minutes I found myself in the back and don’t remember moving my feet, just carried by the crowd that was a constantly pulsing. I don’t think I stayed in one place for more then a few minutes at a time. It was the tour Dimebag died on, may he RIP. Shows won’t ever be the same.
Suicide note part 2 is the most brutal song they play. Also, "a new level" was my entrance song in pro wrestling. Also also, your reaction to this song is on point. Growing up in the early 90s some of us felt different. Not normal. We didn't have a place. Outside the norm. We didn't have a place in this world. Pantera told us we weren't alone. And some of us are alive today solely because of Pantera.
Great stuff. Keep the Pantera coming dude. This album is one of my absolute favourites ever! I had tickets to go see them.....then 9/11 happened......gig was cancelled & the world changed. Say no more.
love your reactions man. the thing with pantera is that they have set out to create albums one heavier than the previous one so their last few albums are supreme heavy in comparison to the cowboys from hell. So please do some reactions from reinventing the steel or great southern trendkill. Also songs like: yesterday dont mean shit, uplift, underground in america, war nerve, great southern trendkill, ill cast a shadow. please please please! happy thanksgiving to you and the family!
Bro ! I LOVE that you are gettin off on what I hold dearest. You want even HEAVIER ??? STRONGER THAN ALL First track on the HEAVIEST freakin album ON THE PLANET ! ! ! Far Beyond Driven ! IT is a perfect Metal storm. Enjoy my friend ! \m/
I have been a Drummer for 30+ years my friend. And my favorite musician on the planet is a guitar player lol There will NEVER be another Dime my man. And I'm glad you found him ! And thank you for keeping his name alive in all you do ! \m/
Never had the opportunity to see Pantera live, but I love them. My cousin was a huge fan, and passed away at a young age. I can't hear Pantera without hearing him.
“Something tribal within” is the perfect explanation of what us Pantera fans went through during a show. I saw them twice in the 90’s and the first time was only my second concert ever. I was a skinny kid, probably 120 lbs. I was scared as hell to get in the crowd, but once that first riff from the song “Walk” started playing something inside me snapped and all of my fear left my body. I walked right up front and stayed there the entire show. The city I grew up in had a lot of what we called Heshens, basically jock stoners with long hair. The pit was full of these guys. But the thing is, when they see little guys they’re pretty careful. If someone falls, there’s always a hand to help you up. I was crowd surfing, I had a blast! I caught Dimebags beer when he threw it into the crowd, I caught one of his guitar picks, my buddy got his brothers drum sticks. It was an incredible night. Second time I saw them, I hurt my back. Not because of a fight, just the shear power of the crowd pushing into me, the guy next to me was elbows out, a common defense pose, anyway the crowd pushed his elbow into my back and I collapsed. People helped me up and I was able to walk it off. Good times!
I completely agree with the former comment! Another couple you might want to do along with that one are This Love and Message in Blood! But my friend you have only scratched the surface of pantera and many other bands all of us old school metal heads cherish! How about Sepultura Territory and Machine Head Davidian? Get ready for some ultimate strength!
I am new to your channel but have been enjoying your videos so far! I am glad you are enjoying this stuff. I would like to recommend some early Sepultura, maybe something off of Arise or Chaos AD. Keep rocking out dude
I agree Pantera is a great ass kicking band. I am gonna play their music when i go to beat the person's ass who made the Azhir Cave map in COD Modern Warfare beta. For next reaction please do Slayer - Postmortem from their album Reign in Blood!
You're right. I saw them on this tour & Far Beyond Driven. The entire floor was a perpetual, evershifting series of pits both times. For the era & my age at the time, it was a virtually unparalleled set of experiences.
I've seen a few great pantera pits, but the greatest one was when a thunderstorm came in right as soundgarden was opening for them. By the time pantera came on, it was still raining..the pit was huge..the sod and grass was flying all around. I remember seeing bandaged dudes walkin around all over the place after the rain. It was killer!
I was really lucky to attend the Pantera concert back in 1994 at Brisbane's festival hall, I was on the moshpit fall. Truly one of my most treasured memories. One of.... if not the best live concert I have ever been to. Spliffs a plenty :)
This album was one of the first metal albums I listened to back in the 90s, people would put these songs in BMX videos and MX videos and stuff, always puts me in such a good mood.
I love that you already imagined this music the way I try to describe heavy metal to people. That is, being in the pit and how the energies change tempos up and down and what's going on in the pit had those moments. Pantera is a good example of this, but Slayer is an extra special example of this. As they are probably the most intense mosh pits of any band.
I was lucky enough to be in a couple of Pantera pits, and one time got nailed right in the nose, by a huge Brother! =D...he was all in the mix!...Great to see! =D at the Aragon , Chicago.
Saw Pantera live in Tampa Florida when I was 15... almost 47 now and Still have the t-shirt from the show 👍... Yes... people getting carried out and some coming back in...
Loved these as an angry young kid. The lyrics were powerful. It was good to get together at these gigs and and going hardcore but looking after each other
😢My beautiful brother! I fkin love you and your reaction! God's blessings upon you and yours! 🤘🙏💛☯️🌞🤘 God, 1 love, and Pantera! In the pits we brutalized eachother, but we also picked up the fallen. We see if they're okay to go on, or need medical attention. Then we go back to the brutilizing! Much love & respect from central Texas!
FL Theater JAX 1992. "The pit must be crazy". The theater had bolted in seats, by the end of the show...they did not have seats the first 3 rows. I have seen Pantera every tour, even at a skating rink before they were big. When I say following these guys was a way of life and attitude, it really was for all of us and still is. They really did save metal during the grunge nightmare. I miss those pits, but my back doesnt. Getcha Pull!
Dude. You are hitting it on the mark. You here the first couple beats of any song and you know exactly how much energy is gonna be expected of you. Fucking Hostile was one of them that instantly energizes you. It’s hard to stay in the pit the whole concert cause they don’t have many slow songs and they don’t play many of the ones they do in concert. You either have to have a lot of energy or use really hard drugs to get through a Pantera concert. The other time I saw them though was when they opened for Black Sabbath in Dallas 2000(I think). They had the whole pit filled with seats. The tickets for those seats were expensive as hell for the time($100 or so) and between the floor seats and the wall up to the arena seats was a wall of police officers. Not security guards but actual police, one at every arms reach. And when Pantera took to stage and a few people tried to jump off the wall to the floor the police grabbed them and hauled them out. They were completely set on preventing a pit at that concert. I was disappointed as hell. It was still a great show but it wasn’t the same without the pit. I’m sure they weren’t happy about it either but those old people would have been screwed if people started plowing through to start a pit. Would have been a lot of broken hips that night. Lol. Definitely getting news coverage if that had happened.
They didn’t tend to put it first but usually not long after that. I must have attended at least 15 of their shows from ‘89 to ‘98. That’s the last time I saw them all together. You should check out this Hollywood show from ‘92. The sound isn’t the best, but it’s a great representation of what those early shows were like when they were starting to get big. m.ruclips.net/video/Bluf_jhGZNg/видео.html
Every Pantera show I attended Phil would scream "Tear this fucking place down" we ripped seats out from the floor, crushed row after row like tin cans. Insanity. You talked about leaving the pit during fucking hostile, now fucking way man the whole place was the pit,, it would just explode. Never felt that primal and pumped in my life, and everything is stripped away in layers. Raw energy, bold and disastrous. Weed, whiskey and Pantera, it's god damn electric.🤘🤘
The lyrics to this song are the best regarding teenage rage and growing into adulthood trying to control that rage. This was me and my boys song all through growing up and we were lucky enough to see this band 3 times. Fucking incredible shows and I've yet to see anyone top this band as far as enrrgy and power at a live show and I've seen everybody!
Slayer was also banned from playing pretty much every venue in LA, as well as many other places. Due to the fact that people would tear up the place during concerts. Or just that the mosh pits would get too out of control. Rowdy Slayer fans! I just got tickets for their final show. And they're finally allowed back at the Forum. Somewhere they were banned from for a long time.
That was refreshing! Yeah more interviews going into their attitudes and all else flashes them out..... Dimebag wrote songs about EVERYTHING... he even wrote a song about his experience at a local Taco Bell (well, local if you are here in Texas)..
I remember vividly my first discovery of Pantera. It was their video for psycho holiday on headbangers ball back in the day. They became my go to metal band all through high school. RIP Dimebag and Vinny , shout out Phil and Rex, forever changed my life. Made fucking people up in the pit soooo satisfying.
Pantera is all about aggression. I went to 4 of their concerts across 3 of their tours and I always came out bruised and often bloody from the pits. It was fucking awesome.
My first time I saw Pantera was in NJ. The security would not let anyone mosh and the Phil stopped the show and told all the fans, " If you don't get up for this next song we will stop the show!" The whole place blew up after that. One of the best shows I have ever seen.
I remember back in high school.. you ever heard this blaring from my car, everyone knew I was on my way to serve a bully some justice! Small town, the people knew! Cops too lol.
Most wild metal shows have a big pit in the middle. When I saw Pantera in '97, the ENTIRE FLOOR was the pit. From pillar to post, absolute mayhem. If you wanted a breather, you had to either go in the bathroom or leave.
Vulgar display of power was the first Pantera show I got to see back in 93 I was 18 and full throttle moshpit mode. REAL MOSHPITS elbows, fists flying not like today just shoving like wimps
My memory: I went to Ozzfest in 1997 in Minneapolis. Pantera was my #1 band at the time and I lost my mind there, but that was like my 2nd or 3rd concert so I was TOTALLY inexperienced in the pits. I can tell you from experience they were BRUTAL! There wasn't fun and games going on. It was full on aggression and madness personified. I had to leave the floor because I got beat to shreds and almost knocked to the ground, and that's NOT where you want to be in a Pantera pit. After I left, I saw some poor sap with a shattered nose walking to get medical attention because of how brutal and unforgiving their crowds were. And, to answer a hypotheses of yours and drop a little knowledge here; They always open with Cowboys From Hell. Fucking Hostile was a mid-set song, so you would have to buckle the hell up and brace for impact!
I first heard Pantera in 1995, I've been a proud fan since. Personally I listen to hard-core Punk & these guys upped the anti for me. I have loved this band & their talent for a while now & it's weird seeing other people's first time listening?? I don't find their music something to laugh @ though, like yourself dude. These guys are seriously talented musicians!
You should also check out "Slaughter", "Walk" is one of their more well known songs, but it's awesome too, "Shedding Skin" is brutal, "Becoming" pits were some of the most vicious I ever experienced
Cowboys From Hell was the set opener more often than not. Fucking Hostile would get played in the encore when you were out on your feet and then suddenly find the energy to go off one more time before you expired.
I saw Pantera live a few time in the mid to late 90s. Badass live, tho not the craziest mosh pits I’ve ever seen. Korn. Korn was the most brutal moshing I’ve ever experienced.
First heard VDOP my senior year of HS at a party, late '92. Granted it was playing in the background but what I heard, I loved. First time I heard the main riff to "Rise" I thought it was derivative of the Helmet song "Unsung" (which is a killer tune). But make no mistake: in 1992, the biggest metal band on the planet was Metallica, and when I saw the cover of VDOP, I swear I thought the guy in the photo was intentionally done up to look like James Hetfield. Thus, taken as a whole, the power & aggression of the music on VDOP combined with cover art showing The Mighty Hetfield getting totally clocked was Pantera's mission statement to the rest of the metal world: "We're Panfuckin'tera, we're the best, we deserve the title of Greatest Metal Band Ever, and if you don't like it, suck it." Or, to quote Ric Flair, "in order to BE The Man, you've gotta BEAT The Man". Basically the heavy metal equivalent to Muhammed Ali or Richard Sherman. AFAIC, they made good on that exhortation, and to this day VDOP is one of my top 5 albums. Not just top 5 metal: top 5 PERIOD. On the same level as Floyd's DSOTM and AC/DC's Back In Black- not a single song on there is filler. Saw Pantera twice, both times at the Seattle Center Arena/Mercer Arena: March 1995 w/ Type O opening and Nov '97 with Coal Chamber & Anthrax opening. Front row center both times. At the '95 show, towards the end of "A New Level", before the last chorus, Phil smashed the mike down on the stage. It bounced up & off the stage and the guy to my left actually caught it. With Big Val standing right in front of us (so as to recover the mike when the song was finished), singing along, the guy w/ the mike, me & the guy to his left all got in on the mike & screamed the last lines of the song. The other time I saw them, I had a connection to the show. Definitely in my Top 3 experiences at a concert, SO many awesome memories; and I knew that as it was happening, so my mind was spinning going "shit, I gotta remember as many details about this as I can, I'm gonna be talking about this shit for years!" Finally caught my first drumstick from the stage (actually caught BOTH the first two sticks Vince threw out after the last song but let the first one go since everyone around me had a hand on that one & the second one nobody was fighting over). Got to party with Dimebag & Scott Ian in Pantera's dressing room a little while later, complete with a personal one-on-one lesson on how to properly mix a Black Tooth Grin from Dimebag (he made two, one for each of us) because I asked him to show me. Vince confirmed that he wanted to make sure I walked out of there with a stick because he loved that I was wearing an original Anthrax Among The Living shirt (I KNEW wearing that fuckin' thing was a good idea!). I still have that stick to this day. But the most surreal moment was standing in a rough circle of 5 people, with Scott Ian to my left & Dime to my right, so close I could have held each of them on their shoulders, listening to the two of them talking about what a pile of shit Metallica's ReLoad was. I was considering adding my two cents worth on the subject (I would not have disagreed with them) but I held off. The way I saw it was, either of these two guys could have gotten James Hetfield on the phone if they'd wanted to; ain't a damn thing I could have added to the discussion either of them would have wanted to hear. Not that I held back on anything else that was being spoke of, but that one topic I kept quiet. Best to listen to the masters. Also got to party with Big Val Bichekas, Daryl "Tongs" Arnberger & John "The Cat" Brooks. All of them were hella cool, especially The Cat. Would have loved to meet Grady "Grand Dragon" Champion or Tony "Natural Born" Wiggins just because they seemed like they were cool as shit on the videos. But I ain't complaining. Made it to Dime's grave April of '05. Went with my friend Trish (who'd grown up with Pantera in the 80's in Arlington; she went by the online nickname Metal Syn) and her husband Ryan, and we paid our respects. This was before the metal cenotaph thingy was installed, so it was just ground (and still looked fresh, too). Poured an airline bottle of Jack (couldn't find any Crown Royal at the time) on the ground, then the three of us serenaded him with "Hollow" a capella. Then 6yrs later I made my way to the Alrosa Villa & did the same thing at the back door, only this time I did it properly with Crown. So yeah, those are my memories. Hope you enjoyed reading, assuming anyone actually DOES read it.
I was at more than 15 Pantera concerts. When this album came out the first show I saw they opened with Fucking Hostile and the whole floor was a pit. I’ve never seen anything like it. You could not be out of the pit because the whole fucking place exploded on the “1,2,3,4!” Same concert some fucker jumped off the balcony into the pit and I caught his boot on the rightish back side of my neck...Almost knocked me out...I was seeing stars and trying not to go down in the middle of this insane Pantera pit. I managed to stay on my feet and was good a couple of minutes later but my neck didn’t feel right for a couple of days.
Holy shit! I think one my subscribers told me this story about this guy jumping off a balcony. I was like “did he get hurt” he was like “nah he landed on some guy”. Lol that’s wild.
I saw them in Little Rock Amphitheater. Outside show. I think it was '98? I was 20 feet from Rex on stage, smoking a joint with my best friend and a fellow metal head. Fucking memory core lock. K,that's my story.
I saw Panter when they toured for this album. And I was in the pit especially for this, my favorite Pantera song. I have been to a lot of shows but this one…this song was absolutely insane. I remember this dude walking around the pit with spiked rings on his fingers and dripping blood looking for someone to hit. I ha led split second, knee jerk reaction and punched squarely in the face as we passed (even though he wasn’t looking at me). At the other end of the pit, I saw him wobbling around looking for me when another tattooed, hulk fella kick him in the mouth and down he went. 😆 we tend to be aggressive but also look out for each other in the pit. Strange relationship with metal heads I suppose.
Sounds like some big ass idiot in one of the pits at starplex in Dallas on far beyond driven tour 94. He was big but he wasn't big enough. Got his ass handed to him for sure
You haven't even gotten to Far Beyond Driven yet, their heaviest album IMO. Slaughtered if fucking brutal! I wasn't there but my brother was at a Pantera show in Dallas at Reunion Arena, the old home of the Dallas Stars NHL team. They put down a wooden floor for the show, and before it was halfway over the fans had torn that shit up and had a bonfire going in the pit. Made the paper the next day, used to have the clipping but lost it in one move or another.

When I first saw Pantera live in 1992 in Buffalo NY, this was the song they opened with! And yes, it was utter carnage and bedlam on the floor.

Pantera - Drag The Waters
Pantera - Shedding Skin
Pantera - 5 Minutes Alone
Pantera - Slaughtered
Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill
Go crazy, dude!
Suicide Note, Part II
Walk, I’m broken, Cowboys from hell, domination, cemetery gates....
All awesome pit songs! also "Becoming"
Yeah.knock yourself out on the Pantera.its All good
You want some subs do a whole album review of this album. You will definitely come out of Pantera fan
“I’m Broken”. heavy sets at the gym? The song make me want to Benchpress a Buick
Pantera for weights, Maiden for cardio.
@@IHateNicolasCage Metallica for lullabies
I maxed out at 340 on bench with the help of this song. It sure as fuck helps. lol

That was the main song I had put on as background music for my skydiving video.
Pantera - The Art of Shredding 🤘
The shows were amazing. The pits were amazing to be in. Should do Suicide Note Part 2, or both parts back to back just because, Slaughtered, or Great Southern Trendkill. Honestly any Pantera is good for me. Seeing your reaction to them is what got me to subscribe. I agree with what one said about doing Slayer as well. Some of the most brutal pits I've been in.
That's what they get for having seats at a Pantera Show should be general admission
Hey another W W. Same last too
When I had that on cassette I kept rewinding that ending for, like, an hour. It's just brutal.
Being in the crowd during this song was amazing, Phil would get the crowd to sing "Fucking Hostile" and were would all stop in or tracks just to belt it out. Just pure epicness
Forever one my favorite angry songs of all time
Great reaction man!! please react to more Pantera "Regular People" is a great on is of the same album of this one great song and very underrated!!
🙌🙌🙌🙌
YES!!!! That is my favorite Pantera song!!! Don't understand why it doesn't get more run?
A New Level is one of the heaviest riffs written!! Give that a go!!
Even though it wasnt as heavy as most of their songs I still love hollow. Great fucking song.
Yeah, Hollow is an epic song. One of the band's strengths was its versatility.
I’ll never forget that day
A New Level is a powerful lyrical song & very crunchy !
love your reactions man. the thing with pantera is that they have set out to create albums one heavier than the previous one so their last few albums are supreme heavy in comparison to the cowboys from hell. So please do some reactions from reinventing the steel or great southern trendkill. Also songs like: yesterday dont mean shit, uplift, underground in america, war nerve, great southern trendkill, ill cast a shadow. please please please! happy thanksgiving to you and the family!
Broke my nose in a pit to pantera doing this song.
Regular people is one of their badest songs
Wes Weldon definitely
All of their songs are one of their baddest songs
Bro !
I LOVE that you are gettin off on what I hold dearest.

Mmmmm....primal concrete sledge may be up there with it.
Never had the opportunity to see Pantera live, but I love them. My cousin was a huge fan, and passed away at a young age. I can't hear Pantera without hearing him.
Faith in humanity restored. Awesome reaction.
Love watching people discover Pantera. They’re amazing. CFH for Life
“Something tribal within” is the perfect explanation of what us Pantera fans went through during a show.
I'm down for some sepultura.
I am new to your channel but have been enjoying your videos so far! I am glad you are enjoying this stuff. I would like to recommend some early Sepultura, maybe something off of Arise or Chaos AD. Keep rocking out dude
This song reminds me of playing Doom on the PC. Really the whole VDOP album, but this one in particular.
yes!!!!!
Pantera is an awesome band 🤘 i look forward to more Arch Enemy reactions.
Nemesis, Bloodstained Cross or No More Regrets for example
Yes, do Nemesis with the original singer Angela gossow please
Sensacional ... pantera recarrega nossas baterias desde 1990 ... um pouco antes talvez kkkkkkkk sensacional !!!! """
"""GETCHA PULL """
I agree Pantera is a great ass kicking band. I am gonna play their music when i go to beat the person's ass who made the Azhir Cave map in COD Modern Warfare beta. For next reaction please do Slayer - Postmortem from their album Reign in Blood!
hahahahaha.............
This is the best thing I’ve seen all day😂
First time I saw Pantera.....they opened with this.
It is the only time in hundred and hundreds of pits, where I feared for my life.
I remember walking thru the record store and there it was. I said to my friend this must be a great album. Look at the cover! Wow
Loo
I was lucky enough to be in a couple of Pantera pits, and one time got nailed right in the nose, by a huge Brother! =D...he was all in the mix!...Great to see! =D at the Aragon , Chicago.
I survived Pantera pits at the brawlroom!!!
It was absolutely fucking awesome to roll those pits! I miss seeing them live so fucking much!! R.I.P. Dime & Vin. You guys ruled....CFH
React to Pre Hibernation by Pantera featuring Spongebob Squarepants. Yes, you read that right!
what?? are u serious? Im on my way. lol
Yes! I bought the Spongebob soundtrack just for that.
You should just react to DEATH RATTLE. Pre hibernation is just a shortened instrumental version of Death Rattle.
Saw Pantera live in Tampa Florida when I was 15... almost 47 now and Still have the t-shirt from the show 👍... Yes... people getting carried out and some coming back in...
Loved these as an angry young kid. The lyrics were powerful. It was good to get together at these gigs and and going hardcore but looking after each other
Was at a Pantera show tonight, that song blew the fucking roof off. It was their oncore. Great to see them back.
😢My beautiful brother! I fkin love you and your reaction! God's blessings upon you and yours! 🤘🙏💛☯️🌞🤘
God, 1 love, and Pantera!
I designed there t-shirts back in the day for Winterland Productions
Like in the album cover, you receive a punch in the face when began to listen these master piece!!! R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell.
Sorry for rambling.
Your good man. I love reading these stories
They didn’t tend to put it first but usually not long after that. I must have attended at least 15 of their shows from ‘89 to ‘98. That’s the last time I saw them all together. You should check out this Hollywood show from ‘92. The sound isn’t the best, but it’s a great representation of what those early shows were like when they were starting to get big. m.ruclips.net/video/Bluf_jhGZNg/видео.html
holy fuck. that is awesome.
If you start pantera interviews reactions, it s gonna be nuts!
Love this reaction so much😁
Slayer was also banned from playing pretty much every venue in LA, as well as many other places. Due to the fact that people would tear up the place during concerts. Or just that the mosh pits would get too out of control. Rowdy Slayer fans! I just got tickets for their final show. And they're finally allowed back at the Forum. Somewhere they were banned from for a long time.
Do “use my third arm” off far beyond
Raw Pantera at their peak
Fuck I remember the entire floor was one big pit. Everybody was raging. Great memories!
That's the album cover T.
And thanks for reacting to it.
I remember them beginning Cemetery Gates at a show and seconds in, Phil screams, "fuck this shit!' 1234!....
I had sooooo many bruises when I saw Pantera in 1995. My entire body was black and blue.. The mosh pit was insane. Especially during this song.
When I saw Pantera in Seattle, they played this song as the second encore closer. Fucking amazing show.
React to The Sleep, by Pantera. You won't regret it. Think soul...
Absolutely! A different intensity
PanterA is definitely a band that pumps you up without a doubt. I'll crank up their cassettes at the gym
They opened up with this at a show in Cleveland. Some dude tried climbing up the amplifiers and they toppled down on him. Great start to a concert.
Vulgar display of power was the first Pantera show I got to see back in 93 I was 18 and full throttle moshpit mode. REAL MOSHPITS elbows, fists flying not like today just shoving like wimps
this song is on the same album with mouth for war (Vulgar Display Of Power), you should react to the full album and even to the Cowboys From Hell
cowboys from hell is my shit. but youtube banned it. Still trying to figure out how to upload it.
That’s the album cover. Vulgar Display of Power.
You should also check out "Slaughter", "Walk" is one of their more well known songs, but it's awesome too, "Shedding Skin" is brutal, "Becoming" pits were some of the most vicious I ever experienced
seen White Zombie/Pantera in Hamilton Ontario Canada,it was a fuckin beast of a show
Cowboys From Hell was the set opener more often than not. Fucking Hostile would get played in the encore when you were out on your feet and then suddenly find the energy to go off one more time before you expired.
Shattered gets no recognition it's amazing.
I saw Pantera live a few time in the mid to late 90s. Badass live, tho not the craziest mosh pits I’ve ever seen. Korn. Korn was the most brutal moshing I’ve ever experienced.
One of the loudest concerts I have ever been to!! Pantera and White Zombie, it was awesome!!! Try some Fear Factory soon man, its good shit
I listened to this album before football games in high school.
This was also the first Pantera song I ever heard.
I was at more than 15 Pantera concerts. When this album came out the first show I saw they opened with Fucking Hostile and the whole floor was a pit. I’ve never seen anything like it. You could not be out of the pit because the whole fucking place exploded on the “1,2,3,4!”
Same concert some fucker jumped off the balcony into the pit and I caught his boot on the rightish back side of my neck...Almost knocked me out...I was seeing stars and trying not to go down in the middle of this insane Pantera pit.
Thanks for sharing your story.
Love this guy!
I saw them in Little Rock Amphitheater. Outside show. I think it was '98? I was 20 feet from Rex on stage, smoking a joint with my best friend and a fellow metal head. Fucking memory core lock. K,that's my story.
Pantera - Revolution is my name
i always imagine my father reacting to these songs in this way. cheers
A lot of greats by them hollow studio version, the sleep primal concrete sledge, shedding skin, becoming, new level
