This is crazy...I feel like back in the day we never listened to the lyric's that deep. Wow Tasha is right that is really eye opening and sick. I love seeing our young people break down our music from the 90’s and early 2000’s 😂… You have to put this album and song in context from what life was like at that time. But I love it. Keep going!
Awesome awesome reaction. I’ve personally never have heard this song and not grown up in a hip-hop culture… However, this is very very disturbing especially knowing now with everything that’s coming to light… this is why I have been with y’all since y’all first started this together this channel
Yesss. Also with j z and irv and Dame I'm prettyvsure that's how they got rid of Dame. They took out his love and weakened him. Only punks and cowards go against women and children. They acting like mibsters but mobsters took out men. Not their women or kids. They cheated but u touched their women or kids u were 6 feet under. They weren't cowards
I don’t know why he tryna justify this bull. He need to reexamine himself. I used to love this song until I just listened to it and I had to repent for not noticing it and I haven’t listened to it in years. Like Katt Williams said on club Shay Shay, r@pe is never funny or acceptable no matter who it is. Now when you talk about kidnapping and sa to kids and murder there’s no way that he should have tried to justify that. Sis I salute you for standing your ground and not letting him try to get around it. He is suspect even to not immediately saying what you said. No excuses
I'ma keep it 💯. I remember when Life After dropped.. It was like a Makeveli answer, and it seemed like one or two things. Either every thing was was set up and perfectly produced like a real life movie, or it was a spiritual war was really going on for a culture to witness being played out in real time, but I digress. In "Whats Beef", yall totally missed the fact that Big talked about the Quad Studio, shooting and robbery.. "Your jewelry keep it, that be our little secret". Plus " Actually Yo Man pass the gat to Me ".
I have been patiently waiting for this. Thank you for this, because I instantly recalled the lyrics about the child reference in this song once the whole Diddy drama started. I was ready to do the video myself, lol. I loved the break down and I remember reciting this entire album from beginning to end with my best friend every day like true fanatics. We always stopped rapping on that part because we just couldn't get with that at all. But we still listened which was wild now that I think about it.
I always thought of Puffy as a POS. He ruined hip hop, in my opinion. The talent he discovered is what made him famous. He added no value to the music.....ever.
Biggie is the must dark rapper of all the time please react to Dead wrong, suicidal thoughts , long kiss good night, you're nobody till somebody kills you, if i should die before i wake and who shot ya

Yep. Wolf wanted to take 2 busses of gangsters when Puff said they were going to Cali. Wolf was as gangster as they come and he knew what would happen, but Puff refused. Maybe now we know why Puff didn't want the muscle.
Idk what bro talking about but the line biggie said about kids he was talking about DIDDY cause he knew what he was doing. He had Bieber and Usher young
Facts...to close to home...Gene Deal said biggie was writing for lil Kim and Junior Mafia and Puff and Biggie had a deal where he would write and Puff would get paid...Gene was smoking with Biggs and told on Gene and in turn Gene told Puff about Bigg was writing for Kim and Junior Mafia...Puff lost it and the next day biggie is dead...I think he had biggie killed...And, Biggie Mama yo Mama always know ya know she don't like and don't trust Puff...And, she let it be known she thinks he had something to do with it.I wasn't there but, that is the story that is out there wild yo real wild.
People gotta understand the mobster/gangster persona was entrenched in Hip Hop as it evolved during the 90s. Has she not heard of the story about Rich Porter’s little brother? No one listening to this song back then was publicly condoning this type of criminal behavior, but rap as an art form is storytelling. No different than when we watch rated R movies and horrible things are depicted. *I will agree, Puffy’s ad libs are gross…never paid attention to it when I was younger.
I think it’s a big reach. Not condoning anything Sean did but this song would be no different from what y’all watch in the movies, that stuff is just as sick lol. LL played G o D , Ross said god forgives I don’t. Im pretty sure it’s hundreds of references to ish like this or the devil.
@@meggo329a lot of it was fake. They were inspired by movies , especially in the 90’s. The “ BAD BOYSSSS COME OUT AND PLAYYYYY” was from the movies the warriors, a lot of them may have sold drugs but it was lil ish, they saw everything from other drug dealers and movies.
The two music executives used 2pac and biggy to do their gangsta stuff under the radar but buggy was dropping hints about puffy it was as if both were coding to each other street style but puffy started strategically putting out the music to start a war when u look at it
The great B.I.G.'s album is a top notch MASTERPIECE. It's loaded with double messages. Biggie had lyrical beef with so many different top rappers from new york. That KING OF NEW YORK shit was entertaining. Give that classic a deep listen. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Tasha for bringing balance to this video. You didn't have to perform a brainstorm to easily condemn evil minds. Your conscious articulation and dissecting toxic lyrics spewed by Notorious BIG was excellent. I rejected artists (as Notorious BIG) since first hearing him. Misogyny and harming children was included into hip-hop after early 90's hip-hop. Rapper Big L was the first I've heard say he was the "devil's son". We've all waited for the official judgment against modern hip-hop

That song was not bout her that song was bout Jermain Dupree n Janet Jackson he was singing that for Jermain Dupree didn't have nothing to do with chilli
The worst thing an innocent person would do is try to depreciate an art that they barely understand... Hip Hop from the 90s era was not for sensitive people, so if you didn't live in a time when thugs were the means of subsistence, being meek and soft didn't match the streets so try to decipher things that go against what you can absorb. Even the most insane of all wouldn't actually do what he says in the verse to a child, so it's important to know the true ideology of beef and who he referred to as a child, not in the sense of being but rather in reference to rappers as such…
💯💯💯 We didn't let that part slip by! That's why alot of us didn't like him. There were also some disturbing lyrics that we questioned the validity but it all makes sense now.
Read the lyrics to Skid Row - In a Darkened Room. " a child bought and sold in the name of the damned, angels left silent and cold" I thing they were giving a hint about the industry.
Someone had asked me if this was a "hip hop" thing and I was like no, it exist everywhere in the music industry. Tasha and I will definitely be checking out that song.
They definitely were doing these satanic rituals, and our black men and women aspire so hard to be validated by white people (elites or not) they’re wiling to sell their souls and so the evils they do to obtain an evil accumulated wealth
Y'all gotta realize this was a different time I'm 49 years old I was a youngin when this album came out alot of rappers said things back then that you can't get away with today this is the internet era this is my niece and nephew generation and they think alot of our slangs of that time was suspect and weird
Also I feel like suge n puff orchestrated whole thing so that's why they released makavelli and life after death...it was a collection of songs tupac made while mad at them for setting him up. I doubt biggie even knew they set up pac. But either way they both knew that they would have to leave, but they were already legally trapped. The minute they signed their names.
Big and puff also wasn't cool like that....big was writing songs for other artist behind Diddy back because he didn't trust the guy. They worked together but biggie was planning his exit from bad boy before his demise
I bought this cd and jammed to it. I loved the flow and the music but I really did not understand what Big was saying most of the time. I got to be more careful.
I think it’s a testament to P.Diddys power in the music game that we heard all this that Big said and Diddy In The background.. Yet it’s Accepted Hip Hop world wide that BIG was the absolute Best ever… I was Always More A Fan of PAC 🤷🏿♀️
Biggie was talking about Raekwon and Ghost Face from the Wu Tang in this song when he said "Yall were grimey in the early 90's. Rae and Ghost were jealous of Biggie and told Nas that Biggie was biting his style.
Whoa....Brotha Lynch Hung! A name I havent heard in years....thankyou. I had been trying to remember artists or songs from the Horrorcore sub culture. Thanks again 👍🏽
He's not talking about literal kids! New Yorkers in the nineties called each other kids. Try studying just a little bit if you're going to do reaction videos and spread false information...
Alpo from Harlem kidnapped rich porter lil brother which was a 11 year old kid and killed him. Biggie was speaking in that term. He wasn’t referring to a person saying what’s up kid.
@@HardWerkVisuals who said anything about that line? I could have sworn this conversation was about the "kids" reference. If the conversation is too advanced for you, maybe try not entering it.
Kid was slang back then for another homie, that line had nothing to do with children. Damn I feel old asf 😂 I noticed after her rant biggies lyrics kick in to saying “ I notice the games new to ya”. Quite fitting as she went off on a tangent but got it wrong, even though the meaning behind her message was right.
My brother you dumbing the song down for her she needs to realize that, the song is about beef and when there’s beef everything goes!!!!! She’s like 20 she doesn’t understand that type of music and that era!!!!
Biggie was on a release run when he went to LA. I remember when it dropped they was like he was on his plane heading to Cali. Then played going back to Cali. And I thought he was about to die out there. Sadly it happened.
Right back in the day we were like Cali??? With all that beef at the time all east coast rappers knew it wasn’t safe. As always everyone had to be the “tough” guy!
The lovely lady is spot on ...Diddy definitely had something to do with pac dying and the night big died he was acting weird from the moment it was time to leave the party at the Peterson museum to the point he got in the car and leaned his seat back all the way back on Gene deals legs ...keep in mind Gene is 6'7.
Puffy once said... I have enough songs from Big to last 10yrs... And remember he released the Big album with all the other artists... Dude was calculated
This is what these ppl don’t understand about the lyrics they want to assume the artist is describing his own personality when he is painting a motion picture with words and beats and the video title doesn’t live up to its name they never described incriminating lyrics from puffy on this track
That history fact is important in the perception of the song!! Bigs was snapping!😂 Then you gotta think I know Lucifer is Venus and Satan is Saturn. So him making a comparison of mythological characters based on planets doesn’t stir my soul. It’s all some BS to keep “black people” scary 😂.
I hated this song due to the fact of me knowing this version of him on record did not line up with the person I met and cheered me up like a kind teddy bear during a moment when I was upset with a former associate after his and Wu Tang Clan concert in Philly in 1994 when he was touring promoting the Ready To Die album. During the long conversation I had with him, him draping his big suede bubble coat over my shoulders because I was cold just straight cool down to his energy this song is a lyrical scary movie, a true one some people sadly live hurting others more sad precious children. He may have been intentionally personally known facts. The full testimony of that night me and my former high school friends meeting him, Puffy, a few members of JM etc. is deep very memorable I took his death hard
@@aemermujaddid7671 It's like the daddy d****k line, he got from a Richard prior joke but now ppl are head over heals over the line. Biggie was a great story teller
I think we were all “Hypnotized”. I remember justifying it as “ it’s just like a violent lyrical movie”. It is, but remember it’s all written first(music or movie). What spells do you consume?
I think you're looking at this with a 2024 hindsight and not what was going on at the time. First off no rapper or any other artist was getting arrested for their lyrics and sent to prison for years back then. At the most there was an attempt to ban them with obscenity laws but that battle was already won due to the events around NWA 2live crew and a few punk atists in the early part of the 90s. Around the time this song was recorded the Wu Tang Clan had impacted the scene and their follow up was to spin off into solo and offshoot groups. One of these groups known as the Gravediggaz made a big impact on the scene which briefly led to the horrorcore boom (which burned out as quickly as it came but opened the door to more sinister lyrics in rap) as well as influence others outside of it to go into more sinister lyrics. While not officially part of that scene Bone Thugz N Harmony also flirted with the idea of heaven and hell in their music. So this song was clearly in that mindset. I mean were talking about a time when method man, gravediggaz and possibly redman was going around with vampire fang grillz in their mouth. It also isnt a coincidence that Rza, a member of Wu and founder of the gravediggaz as well as Bone Thugs N Harmony were involvedi n this album. It is a concept album that balances the gritty and light as it begins where the last album song suicidal thoughts left off. So it was probably just a gimmick. The question is whether Biggie was speifically talking about puffy or someone else. Considering he was planning to leave and set up his own label probably but e wont know for sure since the song itself was mainly about 2pac and beefing overall.
6:11 Tasha got a point there Tee no one in their right mind will ever say F kids and throw em over the bridge unless you know someone that does things like that or ya watching too many NARCO movies series facts something did happened to the 2 kids of a Narco Boss GUERO PALMA in Colombia his 2 children got thrown over a bridge while they were still sleeping and his wife got her head sawed off all of this got filmed and sent to GUERO PALMA a whole war came behind that. Now back to Biggie I also think he new stuff was happening back then I believe so.

This is Hardcore Hio Hop at its best not Drill Rap when you tell on yourself. This is Art he was expressing how dangerous it can be if you had beef with him. It was about having hard lines back then not true lyrics that incriminating yourself. Yall too young to listen to real hip hop listen to them autotune crying emotions drug user rappers that don’t make timeless music.

If you really were into 90s rap as you claim you were, then you would know 2pac said loud and clear for fans to listen to what a rapper is actually saying. Don't just vibe with the beat but actually listen to the lyrics. Or how about Public Enemy? Did they have lyrics like this? Stop speaking on 90s rap please bcuz your words make you look clueless.

It was easy to put it on shug bc he was a well known gang affiliate. Puff on the other hand was always spent as a guy who went to Howard and interned for a good label and built his empire. The narrative was very easy to flip between the two to believe Shug was the only one bad ...

To be fair, at the time, the greatest rapper alive was Nas and everyone wanted the title and since he wrote on Main Source's "Live At The BBQ" as follows, "When I was 12, I went to hell for snuffing Jesus.", we all just thought Biggie was trying to top him, successfully. In hindsight, it was a red flag. Another example: on the song "I'm F*ckin' You Tonight" by Biggie featuring R. Kelly, of all people, there's a line that reads, "Now I know you're used to suites at the Park LeMeridian, Trips to the Caribbean, but tonight, no ends." This eludes to s*x workers who are regulars of the hotel being trafficked internationally in exchange for money as well as extortion via blackmail in exchange for s*x as opposed to, at least, paying the worker their generally rate. Bear in mind, The Park LeMeridian Hotel in NYC is on 57th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues on the Southside of the 57th. On the Northside of the street is the Park Hyatt Hotel where Diddy was arrested. This has been going on a long time and apparently long before Diddy got involved. A UMG Office Building is just about a block and a half West on Broadway at 57th Street. Sick stuff.

That's why p Diddy is going down now

It was easy to put it on shug bc he was a well known gang affiliate. Puff on the other hand was always spent as a guy who went to Howard and interned for a good label and built his empire. The narrative was very easy to flip between the two to believe Shug was the only one bad ...
Had to be there … yall reaching lol
Girl i love ur thought process..
.....and this is why rap has gotten soft, she is taking this waaaay to farrrr !!!! Happy iI was able to experience it before this sensitive era
Biggie 4 life. Also make sure you do an reaction video to all Harvey movies.
Eazy E was dark like this too.
New Yorkers use the word “kid” instead of “boy” when speaking . “Yo what’s up “kid”
We’re familiar with NY slang, but that’s not how it’s being conveyed within the context of the lyrics.
@@TheAdventuresofTNT this hip-hop if sensitive listening to something different 🤔
@@TheAdventuresofTNT Anybody that don’t understand that it wasn’t conveyed that way is very very slow and needs to be evaluated smh He spoke about raping a kid in the verse. How can anyone defend that and call it Hip Hop?! That’s child molestation and devil talk, no matter how the the mental slaved people trying to twist and defend it/him smh
Trying to call anything Hip Hop!! That not Hip Hop! That’s The Devil Hop! Know the difference!
He was talking about the outlaws! 😂😂😂😂😂
They are reading into this with the wrong ideals. The name of the song is (Whats Beef)
😂😂😂 exactly
@@CedyouseeibeI’m a Big Groupie and was looking for this comment 😂
I don’t give a fck what the song called. I hope you don’t got kids on nephews and nieces smh you straight demonic. People like you the reason why this world bouta be destroyed. I wish I was around you and you say something like that it’s straight 🔪
Yoooo! Y’all funny af. Glad I found yall channel 😂😂😂😂
Your wife is too cool, bro, i'm about to sub you guys got good energy
Sick stuff.
🤔🤔🤔 something to think about
@@Cedyouseeibe an IV clinic is a block away as well 👀
She grew up in cancel culture.
In the 90's we thought, the more ruthless you are in your raps, the more street cred you had. But at the same time, nobody believed Biggie knew people that was fucking kids in the ass and throwing them over bridges.
I mean c'mon now. Did people really take Emenem serious when he was talking about killing his mom?
Eminem don't claim the be the realest gangsta so obviously not 😂 These dudes were about it. So yeah Imma take them at face value. Eminem is pure shock value.
Well it’s clear you don’t know nothing about biggie life from the street the dude he mentioned named “Gutter” that does that yeah that’s a real person he speak about Gutter on many songs. Most yall in this comment section is just music whores yall really don’t know nothing about
Okay, I'm 43 years old I'm really about to go back and listen to this album cuz I swear to God I didn't remember that part

In New York dudes talked liked that..they say like come here kid..or this kid bugging...It sounds bad on the record if you didn't grow up in the area I don't think it was ill will on Biggie's part
Nah the word kid is used in slang but elf not have been used for that not that way we wld have just said ninjas or mfers etc not kids unless it was actually kids
Smh poor child dont know about 90's rap. First, that was mafia talk. The whole album is a Godfather mentally. Black Mafia music. Listen, it's fabricated stories with some truths tweaked-in. Ya trying to break down a song ya yet to let complete. SMH you do not know Hip Hop. Where was you during 95 How Can I Be Down? Exactly, ya just chatting for views.
Exactly, it was a mafia/godfather themed album. It's no different from Eminem's Replapse, which was a serial killer themed album.
Your man's a hip hop apologist. Dont worry, most of hip hop culture fans are.
Anything goes in hop hop snowflake. It's called creative writing
