If you like racing you should check out the Isle Of Man TT.
you need to react to Kimi Raikkonen interviews
I think the thing with the eurovision stuff is that it's still a bit early for it. Personally I don't want to know about all the songs beforehand, makes watching the actual show much more enjoyable imo
You know its on yt right put on the sky news barain
8:08 Singapore is a separate country (city state). Not in Japan.
And formula 1 is global not just European.
Not to mention that Singapore is not even close to Japan.

These cars are designed to absorb impact energy by breaking into pieces, except for the cockpit as you can clearly see Robert Kubica's crash at 5:00. In the crash that you started with, from Romain Grosjean in 2020, he was actually on the other side of the barrier; the cockpit and the driver had gone through the hole that you can see. He walked away with some burns on his hands and foot.
“The Italians are supposed to know how to drive” 😭😭😭😭
Nah, that was a violation. 😂
"Singapore, in Japan, I thought it was European". Give this genius a trophy.
4:34 that's not the announcer saying "what the fuck was he doing". It's the driver. That's the team radio
That was added later by Netflix along with a lot of the commentary that wasn't on the live broadcast.
That frame above and around the cockpit is a safety feature called a halo.
... and it saves lives.
Some of these accidents could have been fatal if not for this thing.
A lot has been done in recent years to improve safety in F1.
@@arthur_p_dent yeah big time,so glad they added it.
The one she was asking about was actually the roll hoop, not the halo
Grosjean was against the introduction of HALO but i think hes glad that they did.

In 2014 there was a huge accident in Japan in which Marussia driver Jules Bianchi crashed into a recovery vehicle and lost his life after a 9 month coma. In 2019 we also lost the Formula 2 Driver Antoine Hubert in Spa. The Bianchi crash helped a lot in safety of the cars by adding the halo which is a titanium thing over the head of the drivers. The sport will always stay dangerous but it has made huge improvements in safety. In the 70s it was normal that one or two drivers died in a season but now we haven't lost a f1 driver in 9 years
i sincerely thought that bar over the head was added after Massa's accident (when he got broken piece in the helmet)
recently dilant van’t hoff died though sadly
The bit that protects his head is the air box and on top is a roll over hoop for added strength. They now also have halos that go over the cockpit and it has proven to save many live since being introduced
Zhou's crash in silverstone is the clearest example
@@maximiliannguyen1162 and grosjean in Bahrain 2020. Would’ve lost his head without halo that day
@@joeknight6151 to be fair aswell so would zhou as it was shown in the investigation and on video the roll over hoop failed.. not discrediting grosjeans crash tbh were lucky there still here
singapore is not in japan. it is its own country in asia located near malaysia - small (mostly just a very big city) but very important and rich. keep watching the f1 season and you will learn about geography as well.
Those cars are so safe. I rather crash in one of those than my own car 🚗
... as long as you don´t collide with a recovery vehicle like Jules Bianchi, you´re right
Roman Grosjean not only survived that inferno he returned to racing the next year here in America in Indycar. Where he is currently racing Marcus Ericsson also came over to Indycar winning the Indianapolis 500 in 2022.
On the subject of F1 accidents, I recommend the movie "Rush" about Niki Lauda, who burned in his F1 car at the Nürburgring, received last rites from a priest in hospital and was back in the cockpit after just two missed races to take second place in the world championships after James Hunt. Very realistic with Daniel Brühl, is believed to see the young Lauda.
Niki literally told the priest to "PISS OFF ... I am still alive !"
It's not that each country has its own F1 but F1 visits all these countries with the same drivers but on different tracks.
3:45 the suspension isn’t weak, it’s just the forces involved are very high and you hit them in a direction they weren’t designed for they break
The guy who was just standing on the side of the road, is a Sport Marshall. They have to be there, to give informations to the drivers, with different colours of flags(each flag have a different meaning), and if anything happens, a crash, they have to rescue the racers life. Like fighting with fires, all the time informing the Race Director what happening, at each section of the racering. 😊
We don't go to see the crashes, we want to see great racing and amazing overtakes :)
You need to go back and watch just that first crash! In my 20+ years of watching formula 1, I'm still amazed at that outcome! (Roman Grosjean Crash)
Agreed, it’s absolutely insane.
San Marino has had some much larger crashes than the one shown here (not including the 2 fatalities in 1994) Piquet 1987, Berger 1989, Barichello 1994, Schumacher 1995....
There are between 18-24 races each year. Used to be less but now there are more tracks a year. The USA has 3 races next year, 1 in Miami, 1 in Texas and 1 in vegas
Modern F1 cars don't have clutch pedals any more. You do select the gears manually, but you shift up and down by pressing buttons on your steering wheel. It's a semi-automatic transmission, if you will.
The day and age when stickshift would allow faster lap times are long gone. Even in F1. If in 2023, cars in a given racing series still use stickshift, it's either because the racing course is an oval and you don't need to do a lot of shifting anyway, or because the regulations don't allow anything else than a stickshift.
F1 cars costs around 15 mill $ pr car.
Cars are very safe and the reason why tires and everything come loose is to soften the crash. Where they sit is realy a strong "cage"
You should react to the grosjen crash you saw first, he crashes in 150 mph remains in the fire for minutes and then goes out on hes own
he was actually 27 seconds in there not minutes, if u watch dts that would be minutes but it was not
The first video, it's Romain Grosjean, French driver
He got out of this quickly, no very big injuries, but his hands burnt
After this he decided to retire from F1, and is now in the US playing with Indycars
Without the Halo, I don't think he would've suvived
Reporter on Alexander Wurz in Montreal 98: "What did you think when you rolled over several times and ended up upside down in the gravel?"
"Hopefully they'll have my spare car ready when the race restarts."
He made 4th place with the spare car.
Alexander Wurz in Monaco 98: "I came out of the tunnel, missed the chicane, touched the crash barrier and raced down the rescue lane at 200 km/h. Luckily there was a concrete flower pot there that stopped me and prevented worse things from happening."
It's a racing series where after each race, drivers get points for their position. Winner gets 25 points, runner-up 18 poins, etc, down to the tenth-placed, who still gets 1 point. Also, there is 1 bonus point for the fastest lap.
You could call that a tournament if you will, I guess.
@@module79l28 championship, racing series, tournament - none of these terms is wrong.
But yes, its official name is "world championship".
With "World" being a little redundant here of course - after all, it's not like there are separate national or continental F1 championships. There couldn't be, considering the insane cost of running an F1 team.
F1 is all over the world!! And Singapore is not in Japan
I have seen alot off races.
Crashes you see here are rare.
Maybe ine or two in a season.
The rest are not to heaven crashes....Maybe once per two races.
Favour: "Michelin!!"
US GP 2005: "Allow me to introduce myself..."
Btw the orange people are marshals that are meant to help on the track for eg to put out fires
the suspension isn't particularly weak, it withstands an incredible amount of force, just not the type of force you'd find in an accident. Everything is made to fit within a specific weight limit and reduce drag for speed. The "survival cell" is basically a carbon fiber bathtub the driver sits in which is stupidly strong and is one of the many safety precautions to make F1 the safest motorsport in the world.
Also "singapore? In Japan?" C'mon now...
The number of races per year has increased, with some countries dropping out (South Africa, for example) and more affluent Arab and Asian countries joining.
As an F1 fan its so fun watching these videos🤣🤣🤣
that one in USA actually in texas
There are actually 2 F1 races in the US this year: The "Miami Grand Prix" in Miami Florida, and then the US Grand Prix, which like you say takes place in Austin TX.
@@arthur_p_dent 3 one more in Las Vegas
@@OfficialMeep you''re right, I overlooked this one
Yayyy more F1
That first crash happened in 2020 btw. I wish this video showed how long he was in the fire and when he got out. There's a whole where he talks about it.
The amount of G force in these crashes is insane, form 3 to 11 in almost an instant.
There has been some deaths in formula 1 due to high speed an example aytron senna in imola Italy spun out the car and crashed and died in 1996 and he was a 3 time world champion
Niki Lauda that was got in a similar crash for Roman Grossan but Niki had a very bad accident his body was burned half of his body but he died in 2019 sad for legend’s die
Formula cars are never cheap ,they are very expensive
Suspensions are made of carbon fibre, and when u go 300+ km/h into wall, usually they brake like paper xD
Michelin inadvertently caused the worst F1 Race ever back in 2005
You have to remember they are driving on the edge every single race. You cannot win on just doing 99%, you have to give it everything....the wheels are now designed to detach easily, because wheels before have bent over into the drivers cockpit causing serious injury or deaths
they don’t push 100% every lap
you should basically know how a formula car works to protect the drivers, the halo saves the drivers heads (added in 2018) and the cars break on impact to absorb the energy, basically they cant be hit hard twice, like what happened to hubert
You will see also that all modern F1 cars have what they call a halo over the drivers cockpit to prevent things like tiers and other debris from hitting them.
Lewis hamilton drives for mercedes and had 40 million $ a year. And they get alot of sponsors.
Going to watch theese races is really expensive.
It is not that those cars are fragile. It's that they are running over 200 mph. And those accidents are usually more survivable than a 40 mph accident in a normal street car, partly because the car, by destroying itself, absorbs a great deal of the energy.
2:22
The driver isn’t meant to break there, it’s a very quick corner and if you break going through it you’ll lose too much time. The issue was he caught the kerb and so lost control of the car, at that point he’s just a sitting passenger
There is something called a roll bar to protect there head
@@singlecell2498 that's it couldn't think of the actual name
6:08 depends but some get paid $50M+performance bonuses and others make $$15-20M+bonuses while some drivers pay up to $30M to drive for a team but that only happens with bottom teams which aren’t that wealthy and are desperate for money you won’t see teams like Ferrari,Mercedes or Red Bull having pay drivers since they are already very wealthy
GIRL, YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD CHECK WRC RALLY!!!! 🤣🤣😁
4:15 Real ones know what happened when Michelin was last involved in F1...
Lmao
I think it's a bit early for Eurovision. People will be more hyped closer to May.
"singapore... in japan?!" had me dead
Those call-outs you hear like "f*ck" are not the announcers it's the driver. They can speak with their team during the drive so it can be broadcasted.
F1 is worldwide. This year 3 races in the US. It goes from Austrelia to Japan etc. The price of one of those cars had to be limited by the FIA because it whent to over 120 million for just one car (they have 2 per team)
you have to remember 90% of these cars are carbon fibre to save weight
You must see Romain Grosjean crash full, from different cameras and how safety teams react and save on RUclips( you see this crush on 1st seconds here) . This crush also included to "drive to survive ep3"
No Airbag !!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Thats the funniest I have heard from a crash in F1
there's a great video called formula 1 explained for rookies. might be an idea to check that one out.
Some Fun facts Love
0 to 100 and back to 0 = 5 seconds
1 tyre = £25,000
Drivers seat for him alone = £80,000
The steering wheel = £250,000
The Bits that fly off are supposed to it dissipate impact energy in all the small pieces.
the wheels are tethered by cable, so they stay with the car and not fly off into the crowd.
The driver sits in a protective Carbon fibre tub made just for him the same with his seat.
front wing 150-300k
dawg you pulling numbers out ur ass a steering with in not 250,000 it’s like 50k
3:14 they have even more head protection now. I think that’s an older race.
These cars are way safer than nearly everything else in racing
There is free healthcare in most of the hosting countries, and as sport athletes your team and or sponsors are gonna fund everything you need in case of injury
just a little fact, it's not that their suspension is weak is that they lose more grip as they torture their tyres and eventually they crash completely when they decide not to pit to change their tyres.
and everyone shown in the video was safe and werent fatal crashes.
in 2018, the fia (who basically controlled formula 1) added halos to the top of the car which protected the drivers' heads and could held on 2 london double decker buses.
and no, the cars in formula 1 are not cheap. they cost a minimum 12 million usd to make and the drivers ge paid from 1.5million-50 million for their salary. michael schumaker once earned 100 million dollars in 1 year from driving a ferrari.
well i'm glad ur getting into formula 1 and i wish you could really catch up with the on going 2023 formula 1 championship!
The Italy one is a because they touched the grass and lost grip
All the crashes in the video aren't fatal by the way so don't worry. Also Singapore is nowhere near Japan.
1:42 is Roman Grosjean in 2020 a miracle he survive that with just a few burns on his hands
he sit like 30 second in the fire.
2:34 this part of the car called air intake for the engine
3:34 Daniil Kvyat lost control on the outside curb
4:59 Robert Kubica hit the wall with a 75g impact a normal person would die in the impact
6:10 he lost the rearwing and without the wing u have no downforce anymore while braking
7:04 this was a bit iconic ^^ the half of thr grid got dnf
9:24 Alonso and Stroll, stroll push him to the side and he got airborne the funny thing is these two are teammates this year XD
The halo is the shield to protect the driver it was first release in 2018 after 2 deadly crashes in 2015 Jules Bianci and a guy in indycar lost her life, the FIA invent the halo for safety and it save a few times a live.
love the video ^^
Grosjean also burned his back and hes left foot after hes left shoe got stuck in the cockpit and he had to leave it behind, in the full video clip you see he missing the shoes on the left foot when he jumps over that barrier. He hit the barrier at 119 mph and with full fuel load thats why the fire was so big and intense, impact was 67g´s and like you said he was in the fire for 27 sec. Grosjean was against the introduction of the HALO(safety bar in front of the drivers head) but i think hes glad they did this time it saved hes life for sure and that he only passed out for a short time or he would not survive no one would be able to reach him and help him out of the car whit that kind of fire and heat.
7:42 Marcus Ericsson during friday practice at Italian Grand Prix 2018 at 220 mph he´s DRS failed to close under braking...
luckyly for you they left out the most devastating crashes,
lots of pilots lost their lifes in the history of F1, the last being 3 times World champion Ayrton Senna in 1994
or being left scared for life like 3 times World champion Niki Lauda
Incorrect about Senna being the last F1 driver to lose a life. Jules Bianchi lost his life after crashing into a recovery vehicle, in Japan and is now the reason we have the Halo. A safety feature which if we are being honest is the only reason Grosean is actually still with us today.
The car is ment to crumble the driver sits in something that isn’t ment to crumble
Favour you do realise these are the most expensive technicaly advanced super cars in the world. This is the elite race in the sporting world.
The same 20 drivers race in a world championship with races held around the world..this year it’s 23 races
the reason the cars break easily is because all the broken piece reduces the impact felt by the driver. opposite of a regular car
Cheap? No it costs like 15 million
So it’s actually the G forces that should have you covering your mouth at these, not so much the damage on the cars, the more force the car takes from an impact, the easier it is on the driver. But if you have a sideways or frontal crash from 250mph+ to 0 in less than half a second. That’s what’s dangerous
By the way, All F1 cars have no Anti-lock Brakes, which makes braking the car more challenging.
3:06 its the "cold air" intake for the engine
3:29 the car cost between 12 and 15 million dollars to make
5:32 the suspension is made of carbon fiber because they want to make a very light car and carbon fiber breaks down quickly
9:20 he couldn't brake because his front tire was flat and they want to get through the corner as fast as possible
3:09 Thankfully, there is now a halo built in to the car that goes above the drivers head. It has definitely saved a few drivers lives
I think f1 removes videos of crashes if the driver dies
fortunately fatalities are very rare in F1 these years. There has only been one single fatal accident since RUclips started, Jules Bianchi in 2014. The second last fatality was Ayrton Senna back in 1994.
9:41 fun fact the green car that wrecked the blue car are both now teammates in 2023, blue is also a green car now💀🤣
You need to react to “Formula 1 explained for rookies”. To get the basis of the sport in order to understand more when you react to videos like these
I like that video, but it doesn't really explain or show actual racing much.
@@Zerok147 yeah but she could build her knowledge up from there. Reacting to crashes without even understanding how f1 racing works is just not it
Certain parts of the car are designed to break a certain way in the event of a crash so that those parts absorb most of the force to keep thedriver safe
F1 is a Grand Prix. Different teams with two drivers race on different racecourses for points. The driver with the most points receives the trophy of the corresponding season
They seem fragile but the car and its parts are designed to break easily so they absorb the energy from the crash instead of the driver's body. Road cars are designed the same way.
As for the lack of airbags, it's unnecessary weight and a potential hazard since the driver has to exit the car in about 5-7 seconds.
F1 car Cheap? they cost 12-15M each + Formula One vehicle development typically costs between $150 million to $400 million,
Check out the races on the island of Man?
RUclips will not demonetize your video because all of them are alive, relax about it
The cars are indeed designed to 'fall apart': crumple absorbing the impact. Drivers are made safe in the cockpit aka 'the cage' and they wear flame proof clothing. They are paid millions per year and most cars are made in the UK despite international brands and engines.
OH NONONO ONONIRNIEJRORNDJJE WE DO NOT NEED MICHELIN AGAIN PLEAS
Current cars are automatic and paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel
Marlboro is not a gasoline brand 😂
The cars are build to lose the tries etc. to lose energy on the impact.
The pointy roof of an F1 car is the vent for the engine
the health insurence is mostly 50 million, im not sure which curency but for the one it is its 50 million
They're supposed to break apart easily in crashes while the driver is protected by a reinforced tub.
Singapore is NOT Japan. F1 is worldwide. Every year they race in around 25 different tracks all over the world so everyone and every team etc travel for this to do one race on each track listed for that year. The teams are global but it's an extremely expensive sport so I don't think there's any teams originating from South America, Africa, or the poorer areas in Asia.
If you going 180 there isn't much with braking 😁
Formula 1 cars are extremely expensive and extremely strong the cars suspension are designed with a failure limit of pressure required to break them
