My favorite Kimi-moment is when he crashed out in Monaco and instead of going to the pitlane for the debrief, he went straight to his yacht to drink with his friends.
Yeah Max was definitely more blunt when he was younger. I can imagine how annoying it must be to answer leading questions like that all the time when your 19 years old. I also feel some drivers come across more savage when English isn’t their first language and are sometimes criticised for that too harshly. When you don’t speak a second language fluently and have to communicate using a limited vocabulary, you’re gonna be more direct. Adding nuances or substantiating your opinion requires a higher level of proficiency
"Kimi, did you have any temptation to go to drive the simulator to get better settings for you?" Kimi: "No" *Awkward silence* "Okay, that's pretty clear" Kimi's simplicity is so authentic and funny. He also doesn't take bullshit. I think he's probably the realest guy the grid has ever seen. As he himself says "Why do you have make it so complicated?"

Hes 25 now and i start to get serious Kimi vibes :D
I think Lewis sometimes appreciates other drivers being savage because he can’t get away with saying the things they say, so likes it when they say it for him. Imagine the huge blow back Lewis would get if he communicated like Kimi or said he would headbutt a journalist. His feet are held to the fire differently than others. People still get frustrated that he’s so PR driven now, but can’t seem to recognise why he feels the need to be like that.

Even if I like to watch this kind of compilations, I always feel Kimi is being misunderstood by many because of language and cultural background. I want to explain my thoughts on one of the Kimi moments: Kimi telling Rosato to f* off when he comes to tell that the boss of Ferrari came to suprise visit isn't as bad or "savage" as it looks. a) Kimi is good friends with Rosato (he's actually Kimis sons godfather) b) Kimi respects the interview he is doing. He might not like interviews but he respects the journalist by not cutting it short just because of suprise visit from boss. c) He's smiling/laughing the whole time. So you must know it's totally said in a joking way even if he means the message. Kimi don't laugh often in interviews. 😃
You should really watch the Sebastien flirting compilation. He goes from flirting with women during his single years to flirting with other drivers after he got married haha

Kimi is such a BOSS and Seb is a very close 2nd. F1 is much more duller without them both. The call about Daniel not wanting to be confrontational just shows that you don't understand Australians. Alot of people seem to either not understand or actually believe that some Europeans are rude when they are actually just being blunt and straight forward. In the US people care if they offend, in Europe your feels are your own, offended get over it?
4:05 - Max didn't lose control of his emotions, what you are seeing is typical Dutch directness. We generally don't have time for bullshit, so when people start being bullshittish, we tend to shut it down really quick.
About Kimmi.. Many people say he's actually very nice, just doesn't like the media circus. He's lso known for really love to race (whatever it'll be.. F1, Rally, snowmobiles, boats..)
8:41 That's Nico Rosberg. That moment was after Lewis was crowned champion for the third time in 2015. Although a lot of people like to belittle Rosberg's achievement of winning the Drivers' Championship in 2016, 2015 was the only season where Lewis actually beat him by a comfortable margin. Say what you will about Rosberg getting lucky in 2016, but you don't take one of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport to a end-of-season title decider twice in the span of three years without some skill.
If you need some recommendations: The official F1 channel has a playlist called "What F1 Feels Like" which has some nice short videos with the drivers on different topics, and if you want to watch videos of driver pairing there are great so-called "Grill The Grid" videos which is like a quiz with both drivers (you see their chemistry very well in those), and there is also that one cool video called Rookie of The Year 2019 featuring Lando Norris and his 2 friends (they, combined with Charles Leclerc form the so-called Twitch Quartet, because they were streaming on Twitch during the beginning of the pandemic). For your reference: Kimi retired a year ago (he is 43 y/o now), Seb Vettel retired this year (time w/ family, more philantropic work) Lewis is a 7-time World Drivers Champion, Max a 2x WDC, Kimi a WDC, Seb 4x WDC Just for fun you could just search on YT: "leclerc verstappen inchident" spelled exactly like that and watch the short clip (top result).
I do feel like this really speaks to how every culture has a different way of communicating as well. Max is dutch and dutchies like us are very direct by other people's standards. Some of those are from the Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and when you watch them in that you get a better perspective of the comments being made and the reasons behind them. However In highlights like these, they can be very misleading due to the way they've been edited. These F1 drivers have basically been racing each other most of their lives from carting right up to the top in F1, they know each other, and what buttons to push to get a reaction. Best friends off track, and total enemies behind the wheel. As for Kimi... well he's always been Kimi. Takes his racing seriously and is, as you know, also well known for short and "curt" responses in interviews, when in truth, he's actually a funny person, turning up in unscheduled races under the pseudonym of James Hunt as well as boat racing in gorilla suits with his friends and at parties too. The F1 world has a lot of respect for Kimi, even the press too, but in clips like these he seems savage, and yes he can be. The one at the start with Ferrari. [1:08] Kimi tells Gino Rosato to "fuck off" in that clip taken from an interview. Not savage at all, they're very good friends and he's actually the Godfather to Kimi's son.
That guy sitting on the couch is no other than Nico Rosberg, the only F1 driver who beat two seven times world champions in equal machinery. More respect is required.
@8:00 lewis laughs because lewis would never dream of talking like that.... hes 99x more open, but what comes out his mouth is not what he feels. unless its in written statements or board radios. lewis has a mask on when the camera is on his face, scandinavian and german drivers are just built different.
7:15 if he's anything like me i don't think there is much information he doesn't want to disclose, it's just that most of the things, he does them because he wants to and because he likes them. I always hate it when someone asks me why i like that person, movie, sport... Most of the time I never asked myself that question, I just like it and am happy with it and don't really feel the need to think about the why.
Coming from a fellow dutchie, when youre younger you dont want a million bullshit questions, thats why max replied the way he did, when you get older you start to realize that it all doesnt really matter in the end and its better to answer very political to avoid any other drama Also: its very normal for dutchies to be very straight forward, its just how we are
I commend Lewis for staying calm all these years when dumb questions are asked by the journalist , look at Max he seems irritated cause of those dumb questions , Lewis never speaks out cause mainly he's from UK where they make news of every little thing. And secondly his personality isn't of that type either. I honestly believe he's much tougher than others cause he didn't grew in a sheltered environment like others , his childhood was harsher than others and his strong mentality proves that.
I wonder what most of the ESL drivers are like in their native language? Are they more savage because they have greater confidence in what they’re saying and the nuances of how they’re saying it?
Did you recognise the guy Lewis shoved in the snow? That was Mika Hakkinen, the original Flying Finn before Kimi took over - very very similar character, and a world champion too!
Sebastian Vettel went from being one of the most hated drivers on the grid to being one of the most beloved drivers by fans and team members (including other teams). The guy often stays after the race and cleans the trash from the grandstands. And he earned himself a nickname inspector Vettel also for checking out other cars when he feels other teams might try to bend the rules.
You also have to take it into account that most of the drivers don't speak English so well. They don't feel so confident with their English. Some of the words or sayings are raw translation from their naitive language as the construct the sentence.

Max when to RB and Kvyat to their sister team at the time torro rosso now know an alpha tauri. If the rumours are to be trusted Kvyat and Max's current gf broke up in 2019 and Max and her started dating in 2020. Max's gf is about 8 years older then him and people joke that she comes with the RB seat (people don't really like her). Also there is a funny press conference video right after the switch happened someone thought it would be awesome to sit Max right next to Kvyat for that conference. I always felt bad for Kvyat because he lost his seat then his baby mama and now his kid lives with Max and he isn't even in f1 anymore 😮💨
“That dude on the right”, about world champion Nico Rosberg (only person to win a championship against LH in equal machinery).
Kimi is such a BOSS and Seb is a very close 2nd. F1 is much more duller without them both. The call about Daniel not wanting to be confrontational just shows that you don't understand Australians. We are a messed up bunch of people. "Cunt" has so many positive and negative meanings and when we smile and say "Fuck'em" we really mean it. We have checked our pockets and are just straight up out of fucks. If your in a confrontation with an Aussie bloke and he smiles at you then watch out because shit is about to go sideways.
Yes max is more in control now except when he is around daniel xD
With regards to 'Max has matured over the years', you need to check out his radio comms during the Hungary 2024 race.
The 'suck my balls' comment was between Magnussen and Hülkenberg. They are now team mates and get on really well.
At 11:29, that is just a very Australian thing, to make fun of someone is easily the most common bonding
1:43, Daniil Kvyat, "The torpedo"
Finish men are simple.. we do what we do and that's it. We also do what is need to do and no stories.
2:48 exactly, that’s why we love Kimi haha
ahhh you’re missing out on fernando alonso!!! he’s literally one of the funniest drivers because of his bluntness 😂 you should react to him please
„Who’s this dude??“ literally his name and team on the screen
the name doesn’t mean anything if you’re unfamiliar with the sport generally
If you need some recommendations: The official F1 channel has a playlist called "What F1 Feels Like" which has some nice short videos with the drivers on different topics, and if you want to watch videos of driver pairing there are great so-called "Grill The Grid" videos which is like a quiz with both drivers (you see their chemistry very well in those), and there is also that one cool video called Rookie of The Year 2019 featuring Lando Norris and his 2 friends (they, combined with Charles Leclerc form the so-called Twitch Quartet, because they were streaming on Twitch during the beginning of the pandemic).
For your reference:
Kimi retired a year ago (he is 43 y/o now),
Seb Vettel retired this year (time w/ family, more philantropic work)
Lewis is a 7-time World Drivers Champion,
Max a 2x WDC,
Kimi a WDC,
Seb 4x WDC
Just for fun you could just search on YT: "leclerc verstappen inchident" spelled exactly like that and watch the short clip (top result).
"he's very quick witted and he can turn on the charm when he wants to" yep thats seb alright
I highly recommend doing a video on “on the sofa” Red Bull series with Daniel & Max. I bet you’ll enjoy it too!
Kimi doesnt give a sh*t and says what he thinks. I absolutely love it
I do feel like this really speaks to how every culture has a different way of communicating as well. Max is dutch and dutchies like us are very direct by other people's standards. Of course personality and experience play into it as well but you can really tell what part of europe someone is from by the way they talk and its not just the accent. At least to me its clear since im european myself
1:00 That's Hulk. They'll be teammates in 2023 so I bet it'll be a ballsucking party every day at Haas lmfao
Kamui's smile 😢 I miss him in F1, even after 10 years
Maybe Fernando Alonso needs spotlight here

"dude sitting on the couch" 💀
He's just a monaco based youtuber. Why would he know who he is?
He's Nico Rosberg, F1 champion in 2016 🥳, against Hamilton
Max started at 17 Imagine being in the spotlight at that age
i think being a communication skills coach is a geographically dependent job, like your coaching or understanding on how people are serious, funny, or mad, is not always there because people from different countries act differently
I think for the most part you’re right
That was Mika Häkkinen (F1 champion) who Lewis pushed to the snow bank.
Kimi is basically the quintessential finn, doesn't take shit from anyone, not a man of many words, very good at what he does and likes to party! 😅
One off the best was Max chrashing a intervew an TV chanal with Riciardo.
12:55 it was great to see Lewis and the legendary flying finn, Mika Häkkinen together
Lewis and Sebastian moments together are the best! Please check them out.
Coming from a fellow dutchie, when youre younger you dont want a million bullshit questions, thats why max replied the way he did, when you get older you start to realize that it all doesnt really matter in the end and its better to answer very political to avoid any other drama
Also: its very normal for dutchies to be very straight forward, its just how we are
I commend Lewis for staying calm all these years when dumb questions are asked by the journalist , look at Max he seems irritated cause of those dumb questions , Lewis never speaks out cause mainly he's from UK where they make news of every little thing. And secondly his personality isn't of that type either. I honestly believe he's much tougher than others cause he didn't grew in a sheltered environment like others , his childhood was harsher than others and his strong mentality proves that.
Just to correct you that Kimi's background was very poor and he grew driving cars around Europe alone, sometimes taking care of children as his job.
I wonder what most of the ESL drivers are like in their native language? Are they more savage because they have greater confidence in what they’re saying and the nuances of how they’re saying it?
Vettel is friends Lee McKenzie, the journalist who asked him what he was doing.
every f1 driver has a person just like you who helps them with PR, ngl you'd be pretty good in a job like that with a racing driver
Did you recognise the guy Lewis shoved in the snow? That was Mika Hakkinen, the original Flying Finn before Kimi took over - very very similar character, and a world champion too!
Younger Max was more brash and Kimi-like, just younger.
I always thought his bluntness reminded me of Kimi 😂
Haha this was brilliant
Sebastian Vettel went from being one of the most hated drivers on the grid to being one of the most beloved drivers by fans and team members (including other teams). The guy often stays after the race and cleans the trash from the grandstands. And he earned himself a nickname inspector Vettel also for checking out other cars when he feels other teams might try to bend the rules.
I heard tht Kimi almost got beat up in a montreal restaurant for being irrespectous to one of the waitress
The thing with Daniel: he doesn't have a straight face.
Max is the nearest to Kimi in terms of how honest he is
What about Fernando?
@@maxpbeaumont I still think Max is more direct. Fernando can be savage at times, for sure.
That second clip? Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg. They're team-mates now.
The hat throwing contest with Hamilton that’s with his teammate Nico Rosberg
Thank you for an awesome show I really enjoyed this one 👏👏🇿🇦 Melody
I mean I've read somewhere that Kimi is dyslexic and that's why he wasn't talking much during interviews 😭
0:55 the legend😆... Hulkenberg 🫶
Kimi is just our favourite Ice man 😂
8:32 this was during the year of the "Silver Arrow war" (Rosberg-Hamilton)
You also have to take it into account that most of the drivers don't speak English so well.
They don't feel so confident with their English.
Some of the words or sayings are raw translation from their naitive language as the construct the sentence.
Ferrari needs a communications coach
Kimi is my spirit animal
6:38 as a Max fan, yes. A million times yes.
