I have a 2017 4Runner TRD Off Road premium. Love it. It has been perfect since I got it. Fuel mileage isn't the best but I'll live with that. But I am a Toyota fanboy in general and have thoroughly enjoyed everything that I have had from Toyota.
I been researching Toyota Vehicles for a few mo. There are a number of contenders and reasons why I'd want one or another.. The 4Runner is one of the Top contenders. I rented one twice and I thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Of the ones I'm looking at, it's the worst with Gas mileage. But it's very reliable and the older engine/trans actually appeals to me because it shows that that combo worked so well that they kept it for 20yrs.. it inspires confidence that you can have the vehicle for 10-20yrs with 200k+ miles. The Trim that seems to have everything I want is the TRD Offroad Premium. Then I'll enjoy modding it.
@Rev Nation waiting on a check by the end of the year.. I'd make my purchase whenever it comes in. I'd then be looking to source one. Not sure whether I should aim for new or used.
I have a 22 sr5 . I put 27,000 on it in year one . Other than the gas mileage sucking……The thing is a tank and I actually think it handles pretty well for the size . My plan is to keep it forever. This truck will definitely hit 500k with my commute. I think for 40k sr5 is a steal. Yea the seats aren’t great but I have been in the higher trim models and for 5-15k more it doesn’t feel that much nicer. Interested in seeing what toyota has in store for the new land cruiser and 4 runner but I won’t be getting one. 5th gen will be one of the greats for sure . Cool video !
Yeah man they are the best. Toyota has some big shoes to the fill the next generation. I have my doubts let’s just say haha thanks for watching and please subscribe my friend
Mine was a 2020 SR5 msrp $39K...got it on sale for $36K. for what you get it's a real value. and yes it was on sale at the toyota dealer. In 2020 there was no covid19 vaccine yet and Dr fauci was telling everyone to hide in you basement from the virus, so no one was shopping for new toyotas. except me!😁 They had to discount them to get anyone on the lot. I had been offered up until last year more $$$ that I paid, from the dealer t,o sell it back to them. Nope!
Thanks for the review. My 2023 Sr5 Premium does have a auto headlight and a digital auto dual zone climate control. Here in Canada the auto climate control is standard on the Sr5 Premium. Additional features are the reason I traded my 2018 Sr5 Premium for 2023.
Nice review. I have a 2021 4Runner SR5. I use both Android Auto and Apple Carplay. I think all 4Runners since 2020 have both. Since the latest Carplay update I prefer it over Android Auto.
Just discovered your channel. Great video of a vehicle that’s always been on my consideration list but I always pick something else. I am curious to see how many bugs the next gen 4runner will have and how long they take to get worked out before it becomes as reliable as the current gen.
@@revnation_auto as fate would have it, my Honda remains in the shop due to losing a battle with a semi-truck tire that suddenly appeared in the road. I’d been driving a rental Camry for a few days but swapped it out yesterday for a 4Runner SR5. It’s a blast to drive. I’ll have it for about another 5 or 6 days including a 4 hour round trip, mostly highway. Been averaging 18+ mpg around town in the 4Runner since yesterday, which is better than I thought I would get. It will be interesting to see what the highway fuel economy is on my trip. I wish gas mileage wasn’t a consideration when buying a vehicle but for me it is. Thus the Honda.
I've watched a ton of 5th Gen videos, and this was thorough and concise. keep them coming!
I appreciate it mate!

Most vehicles come better equipped in Canada which is good and bad. You get less choice but often a good value.
I think that dial switch is for the brightness of the dash lights, not for headlight adjustments.

You should find one to test drive and really explore the vehicle. It’s one of my favorites of all time.

I love the look of this SUV. For the longest time a 4Runner TRD Pro was my dream vehicle... I've moved on now because I feel it needs an update lol
Yeah it’ll be interesting to see what they end up doing with it.
