Everyone wants their kid to be like Bluey or Bingo, but in reality they are Muffin
I laughed out loud.
Hard.
Mine feels a bit like unicorse sometimes 😅🤷♂️
Aww, Muffin is the best ❤ love kids with big personalities
Well, every parent wants to be Chilli and Bandit, but most of the time they're Trixie and Stripe (not saying they're totally bad, but you know, have more problems in a daily basis)
@@dan_mnght as a parent sometimes I hate Bandit and chili :)
Sleepytime, Camping, Baby Race, Cricket, Onesies and Grandad make me sob.
Onesies wrecked me for an entire afternoon and I knew what it was about going into it.
@@foulrot Oh yes, I should add that one too. So heartbreaking.
Onesies took me completely off guard and I cried until I had a headache
The Dragon gets me sobbing every time.
Not on the same scale but Early Baby was also very good
Random interesting behind the scenes fact:
The soundtrack for Bike tells a story. The composer teaches his students piano using the song Ode Joy. So you can hear the progress in the music as more and make notes are added as the kids are learning to overcome their obstacles.
Damn… Jeff Bush’s music for this show is so genius
Them trying to figure out Bluey animal logic is so fun. We all had the same questions, too.
Basically, all non-canine animals are still animals. We see birds, kangaroos, horses, and cats are often referenced. Dogs are taking place of humans. The "dog dog" you see, like socks, are baby dogs, and they start to walk like "human dogs" when they become toddlers.
And finally the clothes. We don't know either. It's literally just like you said: It's to give context to the people watching
Don't forget the talking horse in season 3 to further throw a wrench in the works
@@gratuitousumlaut1944 yeah but that was a story so it doesn't count. i mean winton was a transformer.
to be fair to that even the creators realized they messed up with socks, i mean think about baby race.
Na na na na na na na Cat Squad!
@@gratuitousumlaut1944That entire episode was a story being told by the characters. If the narration, blatant 4th wall-breaking, and talking horse didn’t convey that, then Winton having bizarre superpowers definitely should. The episode itself is titled “Stories”.
I don’t watch Bluey. But I watch the boys watch Bluey when discord tells me to.
Behold the business model!
Same lol
As a 16 year old brother of two little sisters, this show has helped me be a better sibling, don’t ask me how, it just has. They also take many ideas from this show like the hotel thing and others, and have applied them to our lives. Hell, they had me and my cousin have a horsey wedding. It’s worth it though, there’s a huge age gap between me and them, so this show helps a whole lot.
the best part is you missed Bluey shaking her head "no" to Bingo after Bandit said he used to be cool XDDD it's those little moments that crack me up
The program was created and is produced in Queensland; its capital city Brisbane inspires the show's setting.
Jay you are crazy. This has driven engagement.
Things that do take place in Toronto; Degrassi, Scott Pilgrim, Turning Red, The Sentinel, and Orphan Black.
I feel I should reply to this, to further drive engagement. Also, bilbies are an Australian animal - a marsupial. Oddly, it is neither poisonous nor venomous.
and a certain jean luc.
Baby Race, Sleepytime, Grannies, Duck Cake, The Sign, and Grandad all made me feel all the feels HARD ❤❤❤❤ LOVE LOVE LOVE that you guys are continuing this series!
Edited to add: I am also child free and not sure ab kids in my future, but Bluey just makes you feel good, and I hope you guys continue to enjoy the show!
Barky Boats and Cricket both got me _way_ more than they should've!
I would also add Flatpack to this list
OMG, the Cricket ep is soooo sweet!! @@lackedpuppet9022
Copycat
Onesies and Dragon got me hard.
And Flat Pack has no business being that intelligently written.
Don't Worry Bluey Will Hit In the Feels Even harder soon....
Yea, of Bike had Jay getting misty eyed, the BIG hitters are gonna wreck him
@@foulrot Y E P !
@@foulrotthe term “destroy Jay” may be more accurate
true, makes me sleepy thinking about it
"Good puppetry"....I can't wait for Unicorse episodes. 😂
As a 35 year old father of 3. Hells yes been waiting for this.
So happy you’re carrying on with the Bluey reactions 😊
I show Bike to my undergraduate students when they complain about not having mastered something they learned 2 weeks ago
For season 1 episodes to look out for are Butterflies, Yoga Ball, Calypso, The Pool, The Beach, and Camping. Camping is probably the most important episode for this season.
Camping is my favorite
Camping really got me. Most talk about the show's story, bits and lessons. But also visually it's high quality animation, design, colour and light and Camping is just has so many incredibly beautiful shots.
As an organised mum living with a laid back dad, I absolutely frikken LOVE The Pool
I realised I confused two episodes. Camping is definitely up there and one of my favourites story wise. Also knowing some French from school and understanding what is happening before Bluey does, really got me. But the one I meant was "The Creek". The artists, especially in colour, lighting and layout really went all out on that one.
Sleepytime, grannies, verandah Santa, camping, flat pack, the sign, surprise, rain, duck cake, handstand, baby race, Easter, double babysitter, Christmas swim, dragon, tv shops, bumpy and the wise old wolfhound . They are all so good but omg these eps!
Oh and to the baby dog. They retconned it in season 2 with baby race! And Socks grows more in season 2 and is officially a toddler there!
When Muffin refers to 'my cousins', she probably means Trixie's niblings, who wouldnt be related to Bluey and Bingo. Stripe and Bandit are brothers, so the cousins are both each others paternal cousins, there is no familial relation between Trixie and Chilli, other then Maybe them being friends since they were young girls.
Also, Socks is in that stage between baby and toddler, so that's why she acts like a little feral puppy compared to other kids (why shes on all fours is because this society is still Dog in origin, so if they followed Evolution through Canids then Humans. Being able to walk on all fours makes sense for puppies to do, and adult dogs eventually grow out of it). Socks is only 1, so it's likely her entering her terrible twos. She's a LOT more mild mannered as the show progresses.
Does Trixie have niblings? Does she even have siblings? We don't really know that much about their family.
@@liamwhite3522 No, but just the implications of 'my cousins' just makes me think so, Muffin implying she has more then just Bluey and Bingo as cousins, who have never met them.
But in baby race the other babies crawl unlike socks? Always been something that confused me
@@poppy7599 That's why I said stage between Baby and Toddler. Bluey and the others were babies aged 0 - 18 months, as depicted by the milestones all the babies were reaching (starting while rolling over and sitting, which are 4-6 month milestones, and crawling and walking, which are 7-18 month milestones).
Also, it's on the record that Joe Brumm forgot all about Socks while he was writing Baby Race and almost scraped the plot all together as a result, but his wife really loved it so it was produced 😭
Takeout was the first episode that made me relate on an existential level.
Grannies is some of the purest comedy gold around.
Flat Pack from season 2 though? You are not ready for Flat Pack. It's a long ways off, start bracing yourself now! I will not elaborate further!
We filmed the react to Take Away today. Yeah, it’s an epic reaction from Jay. 😁
The Flat Pack feels sucker punch you out of nowhere too.
@@foulrot Every time I think i'll make it. Then the last minute gut punches me EVERY time.
Music is such a HUGE part of the show's success.
Hotel was the first episode my kid loved (and watched over and over lol) but Takeaway was when I was like, oh, this show is for me too 😂
I reacted the same way as Jay when Bandit said “this is all my stuff from when I used to be cool.” Parenting is VERY rewarding but it is definitely harder to fit in time for all your past hobbies. 😂
The Bluey Try Not to Cry Challenge: Camping, Onesies, The Show, Sleepytime, Grandad, Copycat, Dragon
Onesies gets me every single time.
Add babyrace and Jay might die of crying😂
Am I the only one who cries at the end of Rug Island
@@takemeaway285 Rug island and the born yesterday episode 🥲
Sleepytime gets me 😢
Bike was the first episode to make me cry. And bilbies are actual animals.
Sleepytime is epic. Baby Race. Onesies. Camping. Sleepover. ANY of the Grannies episodes. The Show. Unicorse.
The next two reactions have two of my absolute favorite episodes Take Away 1x14 and The Claw 1x19
Here's me in Australia going wtf is a Flat Stanley. Also a Bilby is a burrowing marsupial its roughly rabbit sized.
The first time I saw “ Baby Race”. I called my daughter-in-law right away. Every mom needs to see Baby Race!
I do get confused sometimes with the continuity because it'll show them folding clothes but they never wear clothes
Wow, that is true 🤯
OMG THEY DONT! What are they washing all the time!?
@@jayschmidt9727same with the underpants from that episode with bingo in the hospital- they never wear underwear why do they exist?
Not gonna lie. Subscribing solely because of the Bluey reactions. Keep em coming!
They live in Brisbane Australia.
And If "Bike" made you cry........
all I can say is WAIT FOR IT
Faceytalk was the first episode I saw all the way through, that and because it shows Muffin at her worst/best, it has a special place for me.
One explanation I've seen for the clothes thing is that from the POV of kids, they'll remember laundry being done a lot but not remember what clothes anyone was wearing on any particular day. So they may always be wearing clothes, it just isn't animated.
Also just from an animation standpoint, it's likely a lot easier to animate the characters without clothes.
If Bike got you in the feels Baby Race will destroy you.
I expect sobbing.
Yoga Ball, Camping, The Creek, The Dump, Copycat, Daddy Dropoff, Army, Sleepytime, Grandad, Bin Night, Baby Race, Curry Quest, Rain, Onesies, The Decider, Stickbird, Cricket, The Sign and Surprise all have emotional resonance (which isn't to say that others don't and I left some out that really get me out) It's just a quality quality show. There are others that are just pure comedy like Stumpfest, Family Meeting, Granny Mobile and Grannies. The thing about this show is that there are layers in these 6-7 minutes and the art is so beautiful. It's just wonderful.
Don't forget Flat Pack, the emotions on that one just suckered punch you out of nowhere
Rug Island 😭
I feel like there's some tension between the concepts of letting your kid figure out how to do stuff and encouraging climbing on water fountains and lapping water off the ground like some kind of persondog.
I'm just patiently waiting for Unicorse
The dog-baby thing gets retconned later in the series.
Socks herself gradually moves towards bipedalism, suggesting that originally puppies would start as almost entirely canid and move towards human as they aged. By the episode Baby Race this was no longer the case and puppies follow the same development as human babies. I'm told the creators forgot.
It wasn't scrapped as much as they said they just flat out forgot how they portrayed early Socks.
Oh that is true about Baby Race.
@@foulrot I don't take Ludo and Joe Brumm as being a very forgetful or careless group. I feel like they intentionally changed it (in part because Baby Race wouldn't have worked well in the original puppy > baby format.)
@@lackedpuppet9022 no, they have actually stated that they forgot, that's not me just making it up
@@foulrot Oh I see. I've never seen/heard that before! Learn something new everyday I suppose.
Sleepytime is THE ONE
SLEEPYTIMEEEEEE. It’s Season 2, but I’m a patient man.
I am living for this reaction series
SLOP IT UP, BLUEY GOBLINS!
HOORAY, MORE BLUEY!!@
Bob is a bilby, a very cute burrowing marsupial.
“Baby Race” (S2E49) is going to make Jay bawl. I really love “Rain” (S3E18)
you never see a hand for Bob, because he floats. "We all float Down [Under]."
I love these reactions with all my heart
I had such a terrible day, this feel like this upload is specially for me ❤
YAY MORE BLUEY this is primarily what I'm here for but also I saw you do Doctor Who reacts too! That's two whole things! I'm invested now!
i LOVE bike and bob bilby, always makes me cry
Ill take the engagement bait... They live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
I live in Toronto, and my dad lives in Perth Australia, so I feel oddly seen by Jay right now 👀
17:49 Oh, the Dad Feels! THE DAD FEELS!
Thank god for this! Just spent the last 45 mins with the youngest still up watching some Bluey before trying bedtime again (it’s currently 22:28 in the uk) once he’s down gonna catch up with this 🤩 thank you sirs!
Ah yes, the bedtime reset. Sometimes it's gotta be done 🫡
Bilbies are an endangered Australian animal. In Australia we've replaced the Easter bunny with the Easter bilby so most Aussie kids know what they are. Kind of look like a rabbit but cuter.
8:26 "Freedom. Responsibility."
Ah you are so going to appreciate "The Claw" and how Magic Claw spends his days.
engagement train for my favorite series on the channel is once again leaving the station!!! choo choo, babey!!! 🚂💨💨💨
Yay! More Bluey! Also Sleepytime is the best of season 1.
Sleepytime is season 2
“The ones”.
Oh dude… “Copycat”, “Baby Race”, “Double Babysitter”, “Sleepytime”, “Camping”, “Cricket”…
And those are just some of the adorable and/or emotional ones. I didn’t even list the ones that are simply HILARIOUS.
Holy crap, I forgot “Onsies”! I should be ashamed!
"Who wants night bacon!" has become a rallying cry at our house thanks to Bingo... LOL!
Hey Guys! Thank You So Much for doing Bluey! Please don't Stop🎉
I really CANNOT wait for Jay to meet Winton.
If you think Bike brought the tears, wait until you see Baby Race.
2:01 Adam noticed the plushy falling on the floor and his face dropped 😭
The city in the show is Brisbane in Queensland Australia. It's actually an accurate depiction. We call our God Wally Lewis. It was the Allied HQ for the Pacific Campaign in WWII and the town that invented Punk Rock. A bilby is a rabbit sized native marsupial.
Cricket got me. The rusty just loves cricket man 😢
22:24 Bandit used “dad roast” on Jay, it was super effective. 😂😂
Baby Race, and Onsies do me in almost every time.
What I love most about the episode “Bike” is that we don’t see if Bluey learns how to ride said bike until the next episode when everyone’s biking/skating with Billy Bob.
Something nice about this show is that there are subtle hits of their reality progressing as the episodes go on. Sometimes, they’re found in flashbacks…other times, you see stuff that hints at future episodes. There’s a history and continuity to it all which, while confusing at first, does iron itself out as time goes on. For example, if there are characters important to main cast who don’t appear for a while (or even appear at all until their episode), there are in-world reasons that are both silly and heartbreaking as to why we don’t see certain characters until the characters themselves either are brought into the narrative or decide to enter the narrative on their own.
For a show advertised to be for kids, it’s surprisingly smart and really engages the adults who decide to watch it.
Bluey! I ❤ the reactions.
Definitely set in Australia, guys. Brisbane, specifically, in Queensland (where I live). My brother was an editor for a dozen or so of the episodes - he’s basically royalty to my children now 😜
Also, they make little bob bilbys!
Sooo excited for you guys to see Grannies and Bus
Bilbies are marsupials, native to Australia. And Bluey's family lives in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. A lot of the places are based off of actual Brisbane and other locations in Australia.
I think a running joke is you always see them do laundry but they dont wear clothes. Like...despite no one wearing clothes you end up always doing laundry for some reason.
What a better way to enjoy previewed.. but with a scoop of chips.. steak and cheese pie.
And bluey... hell yes
The show is so wholesome. I had my kids young, so they’re teenagers at this point, so I don’t get this kind of interaction with them anymore but they still actually showed me Bluey and we still enjoy watching it together.
I can't WAIT for you to get to Calypso, Camping, Mums and Dads, Early Baby, and Takeaway. those are just my favorites from season 1. after that, there's Sleepytime, Bin Night, Babyrace, Rain, Duck Cake, Born Yesterday, Relax, and Cricket. and that's just the ones I can think of right now. what I'm saying is: this show is brilliant and your reactions so far have been amazing! thanks so much! 🤩
BLUEY!!
I’m so glad that a top-tier reaction channel is reacting to Bluey. There’s a woeful lack of Bluey reactions out there. I simply cannot wait for you guys to reach the “oh, I need to go talk to a therapist now” episodes.
Teasing, promises, army, Sleepytime, grandad, flat pack, baby race, tradies, turtleboy, space, stickbird, dragon, cricket, ghost basket, the sign, and surprise are what you'd call, The Ones
ah the simple times where Bob Billy was the only hand puppet in the show
Can’t wait for Camping…
Love how confused you were of what bob bilby is. Its a bilby 😂 like a rabbit-bandicoot. very aussie very cute
“Before this gets any weirder…” Oh Adam, that ship sealed in LONG time ago
Never gonna fail to love this show 🥰
I love watching you guys. Not only are you watching Bluey, which is my kids favorite show, that i also enjoy, but you guys have better chemistry than other reactors on youtube.
Bilbies are small marsupials like lots of Australian animals (kangaroos, wombats, koalas). As they have long ears like rabbits, sometimes they use them as a replacement for the Easter bunny.
What Bluey episodes I think are "the ones": creek, camping, sleepytime, rug island, flat pack, rain, cricket.
In Bluey they explicitly live in Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland. Lots of Brisbane locations are referenced in the backgrounds. You can even find maps that point out some of the locations. It's also a huge Australian Army town, which will be important when you finally meet Rusty.
Bob is not an armadillo or an aardvark. Bob Bilby is in fact, a bilby. Also, they live in the city of Brisbane, which is the capital of the state of Queensland in Australia.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THEM TO WATCH the “stories” episode
They're hung up on knees and head towels, but what throws me off are the headphones.
If it helps, I've heard everything in Bluey is viewed by the memory of a child. So minor inconsistencies are just because of how memory can be fuzzy, especially as a kid.
24:10 The show is set in Brisbane, in the state of Queensland, Australia. We often see Brisbane landmarks, you can find comparison photos on the web.
A bilby is an Australian animal that’s basically a mix between a rat, a rabbit and a kangaroo. They used to live all over Australia, but when European settlers brought other animals, bilbies began to disappear. They often get killed by cats, dogs and foxes, and rabbits have destroyed bilby grazing lands, and compete with them over their burrows
12:52
Muffin said it, twice “Horses can’t talk!”.
Bike was my first episode of Bluey. I was at the pediatric urget care with my son, then four, who had slipped and fallen while running around the house and smashed his teeth into the floor. Being a waiting room, I could not hear the sound. But I didn't need to. I had heard of Bluey, but I didn't know what kind of show it was (I mean, I had also heard of Paw Patrol). That episode told me everything I needed to know.
with all the knees conversation, I just can't wait until they notice that the Heeler's hang out a lot of laundry for not ever seeming to wear clothes...
Don't even get them started on the continuity/layout of the house. They'll explode!
This is a show that lets you welcome the tears as they are teas of joy.
Honestly can’t wait for their reaction to Lin Manuel Miranda’s Major Tom character with all this animal logic talk 😂
16:25 oh, you have *no* idea the foreshadowing you accidentally walked into
a bilby is a long-eared, rabbit-like mammal native to Australia. It lives in burrows and is active at night, feeding on insects, fruit, or fungi. The bilby is a marsupial and carries its young in a pouch. Threats include habitat loss, disease, and introduced predators such as foxes. Formerly widespread, bilbies are now restricted to arid parts of northwestern and central Australia.
It is commonly called bilby after the lesser bilby became extinct in the 1950s. Other names include dalgyte, pinkie, or rabbit-eared bandicoot.
Lol guys Bob Bilby isn't an advark or a rat, he is ....**drumroll**.....a bilby! Its an entirely seperate marsupial. "Desert rat" was oddly close those, they are absolutely desert creatures.
