i live in wellington ive seen alot of crosswind landings, not much better/worse then heathrow in normal weather. A few go-arounds but rarely. If you ask me, i dont think its too windy sometimes in normal weather. Maybe if the clouds go a bit sad they'll start crying, though not every day! :)

"all mountains" Hoho, you haven't driven on our highways. Sometimes it's flat, sometimes it's crazy hilly. If you've been on any of the highways then you'll know. 180-degree bends and 10% slopes are not uncommon. Also about Taupo, the way you pronounce it is how like 90% of people say it. Maori teachers get rage.

As a new zealander, I just wanted to say that all of these places are populated and not exotic XD. Like Timaru and Whangarei they have like 50,000 people and also tourists. :)
Air New Zealand is a very good airline in my opinion but it does not fly 777s to Wellington and domestic flights are commonly flown by the Q300 or ATR 72.

As a New Zealander this is one of the funniest videos I've ever seen! The Wh is pronounced F, for example, Whangarei would be pronounced as Fangarei to a non-kiwi :). They mainly fly to these places as they are towns with either dangerous or tedious roads to link to main cities.

Singapore Airlines 777 200ER visited at Wellington Airport for few years and Now I think the Singapore A350 replaced the 777 route In or out of Wellington Airport less than 2 years ago.
I'm from whangarei and you pronounced it very interesting , I'm surprised you actually landed here the biggest they go is the a320 and they have now stopped
Check out Redmond municipal, high elevation, shorter runway, and A320s fly there.
