For what I understand the main gears on a 767 are very complicated in design, due to some restrictions that LaGuardia Airport in New York used to have/might still have. They had to make the gear spread out a bit or something like that while keeping the gear bays in the same spot.
Hey Swiss!! I am from Romania and i live right next to the BBU airport where the 767's gear collapsed! It's good that it stopped in time and no one was hurt. The runways condition wasn't bad either They moved the plane to our hangars here to repair it and we got to see another 2 rare Omni Air 767's come here and that was amazing. One time the 767 after it's takeoff he lost 1 engine and had to come back HEAVY to land. The flights are back to normal right now. I am amazed and so surprized you talked about this since especially here in Romania we barely getattention of our Aviation news i guess... lol . I hope you see this :)) ps that Ikea in the backround is from a Comercial Complex called Baneasa Shopping City ;)
The first plane i flew across the atlantic on was N172DN which had a landing gear collapse in 1995, I flew on it in 2018. 767s in general are great though.
A FedEx 767 had a gear failure at lax last week. Pilot jumped out of the cockpit literally one second before the air stairs were there and broke his leg
