2:37 You can actually plug an external mic into the Xperia 1 V as it has a TRRS 4 pole audio jack like previous Xperias.
You most definitely can connect an external mic to the headphone jack. In addition, you can attach the vlog monitor to see your footage from the rear camera as you record.
That jack is an out, not a in one??
@@juancarvajalj it's an in also, actually if it's like the 1iv
@@juancarvajalj it's TRRS port, so both
very good point, because audio is so important for vlogging.
The footage from Xperia V looks so good!
Agreed!
The color science is very similar between the two devices.
Lately I have been looking more closely at my video and stills from my Xperia 10iii and my a6400, and also remembering my older a5000. There is a sort of "family resemblance" among the Sony products. I have not gotten around to breaking it down yet, but I noticed it. I think it might be helpful when using multiple cameras.
Worth noting you can see the screen on the Xperia while filming if you use the Vlog monitor! It's about $130
Yep! That’s a great tip to use a monitor!
If you're trying to maintain the 180 degree rule for cinematic motion blur, you're forced to use clip on ND filters on the Xperia. With a mirrorless camera, you'll be able to use a higher aperture or screw on filters.
You can get away with high shutter speeds on slow motion shots but in normal shots, footage will look choppy unless conditions are ideal.
I guess you could get a case for that perhaps.
So with a camera you are FORCED to use an ND filter too. So what's the problem, that's normal if you want pro looking video. In fact my clip on variable ND filter is quicker to use than a screw on camera filter.
Gibt es auch ND Filter für Sony Xperia 1V?
I was considering getting the Xperia just as an everyday carry.
Wow. This is how you compare camera quality. Nice video, Sir
Thanks so much!
I've been taking mobile photos since cameras first happened to them. I've got the 1M5 to actually start photography and videography for short roll vids and portrait photography. Professionally, I'd like to get the larger Sony cameras but one has to appreciate the price weight and accessory inhibitions. Horses for courses really.
Smartphone photography is much more accessible to the public and as a business, if one gets the niche right. 👍😉
Wow... it's really nice to see how you explain and present the video... Good luck from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 👍
There are quite a few things that you said that were way blown out of proportion.
Yes, you can connect an external mic. Yes, you can see yourself for an extra ~200-400 dollars. The mic quality was extremely similar. If you said one was recorded on a phone and one with a professional camera, 9/10 people would guess which one it was wrong. The only way it's immensely worse is if you have the stupidly expensive sound and display equipment to tell the two apart.
nice review, tho I wish you had done some camera comparison as in photo photo. I'm lugging around a A7RM2, and wondering if it's time to let it go, I know it takes phenomenal pictures, but it's bulky, and not easy to travel with, and with the new stacked sensor on the Xperia 1 V, I'm wondering if it's the right time to go "light" on vacations as well.
Only Samsung, iPhone and Google produce phone camera quality, meh quality when compared to real cameras lol 😂.....Samsung fake colors, over saturated, iPhone orange saturation and jpeg quality, only looks good on phone displays ....Xperia is the closest to a real camera....
Good you learn your lesson well
Cause basically those are already processed with ai/image processor, but sony didn't except if you were using the auto cam
Whats cool about Xperia 1 V - it's so much cheaper!
Whats cool about Sony A7R5 - the rest of it :D
Sony also has external magnetic monitor for 1 V ! So that you can use main camera for Vlogging
@Sidney Diongzon you can use vlog set for Xperia. This one that came out for Pro-I.
3:55 you can take one of the Monitor vlog for Xperia - XQZ-IV01
You're 6000 dollar setup looks better but the xperia actually looks really good and comes close in terms of color and also the mic is very good.
Well, when that comparison now i can see difference between sensor for mobile and real camera
The colouring quite close enough but it's soft and mixed background
Other, color clearly, details, separate like real environment
I've watching this through my sony x1v haha
Kindly make a video on photography comparison between A7rv vs Xperia v!
Second...
One question... Xperia 1v how Is in lowlight video?
VERY impressive because of the new Exmor T sensor! Made a review video about it: ruclips.net/video/ax4gA4UoHGs/видео.html
@@SidneyDiongzon THX a lot
Well, it looks like Xperia is the future of vlogging with a smartphone:)
I’m sure you can use the DJI mic via USB-C on the Xperia?
I'm excited for s-cinetone and the better thermals on this than my 1iv
Correct me if i am wrong.
We wont get as good low light footage as from full frame camera ?
But i see from 4k walk channels that Focus is working diffrent on full frame .
Full-frame cameras will always perform better in low light than compact cameras. Bigger sensors tend to produce better low light capability
@@SidneyDiongzon thats correct .And this noise is the diffrence .😋👍
Hi, there is a headphone jack so you can definitely plug a external mic on it, can't you?
Yes, he can. That was a weird error.
@@SupremelyBX probably because mostly no one despite commercials saying otherwisebuses Xperia phones as "professionnal" cam recorder...
Thnks, great video!
wow this is what i'm looking.. with this we can tell how powerfull sony xperia 1 5 camera... sir i hope you make more comparison video after this like night shoot, at theme park or where ever.. :)
Those shots are amazing
Hope it will be available in Dubai next week???
Please let me know the date😊
No, and it's silly to think a smartphone could beat a full frame.
However, unlike all other smartphones (not a lot of them, ALL of them currently, with the exception of 1 or 2 other Xperias), it has 3 advantages over the majority of full-frame cameras:
30fps burst mode
4k 120fps HDR/SDR
3 extremely versatile lenses that cover a huge range which costs you thousands to get on a full frame
Other than that it loses. Obviously.
For a7iv user, Should we buy this phone for 4K 120 and external monitor and sell 20-70 or 70-200? Can’t find any mobile network with Sony anymore.
Question... does it turn into a monitor when using Sony camera's?
Yep!
Does Sony XPERIA 1 IV support 4:2:2 RGB video recording like iPhone 13 Pro and Pro max?
if sony can smash one of their 1 inch sensors into the next phone then it just might be my new phone
In my opinion, blurr makes person and objects to stand out better. For a phone camera it looks really good, but still just because of that blurr - sony full frame camera wins for me.
Wow this is another level what size is the sensor of the camera of the phone? It lost the computerize look of the iPhones
Thank you
Hi can the new Xperia 1 V handle talking on the phone and using data at the same time now? My IV has such a hard time doing both at the same time. Mind you, it is the US model running on cricket wireless (at&t).
would you use this as your top down shot for unboxing in the future and replace your zv1?
No, I think the ZV-1 is only perfect camera to film top down shots
@@SidneyDiongzon taking in your advice! Thanks Sidney!
Smartphone has a fixed aperture. Think of it as point-and-shoot camera, with music playing capability, for folks who like to immerse themselves in their favorite tunes during photo/video hunting.
It supports microphone input via AUX
The only time I use my DSLR is after evenings. Because I low light the phone can’t keep up. ZV-E1 is pretty light .
Holy crap the audio is the most suprrising part. The Xperia could be optimized but just has some low end missing
Better than iPhone's video for sure, but the best option is gonna be the new ZV-1 II...
So maybe the real difference is when cropping.... trimming the imagen or when reproducing it in tv set more than 40', that the size of the sensor is important...?
Ok I’m sold.. where do I buy 😂
Bro I'll making short film
Which one is best camera phone Mack a short film
Sony or iphone???
Ple tell me bro
Waiting for your reply
Not too shabby. Still rather have my phone be my phone and my camera be my camera. 🤙🏽
You can't put a better USB c microphone on the Xperia 1v?
I was surprised you didn't mention if Sony had sponsored this video in some way or not. The results were interesting none the less and stand well on their own but, of course, it's always best to be as transparent as possible. I particularly liked the quality of the kids shown towards the end - very nice filmic look.
Nope it wasn’t sponsored at all lol. If it was, I would mention it
8:15 The Xperia takes better video than the iPhone 14 Pro... ? I haven't been thrilled with images from the new iPhone... Video seems to do less processing, but I'd prefer a more neutral look and it drops frames. If the Xperia bests it at both... that's a big win !
Both are same, but Xperia is lighter smartphone around 5-7 years and A7r5 is 10 plus years and its weights of costly lenses for photographers/videographers. More work to editors for their business, but for commonly people as they need simply Xperia.
Sony xperia 1V world best
Dang apple has us locked into the ecosystem lol 😂 got to carry two phones. Loved the comparison great job as always!
I carry 3 phones now haha. Thanks for watching dude!
@@SidneyDiongzon I need to phone just for my son to play games so he doesn’t kill my
Battery lol 😂
That’s my strat next lol
@@Solo-gx2xc 🤣🤣🤣
I'm in the same boat. But I'm going to get this phone.
You cannot connect an external mic on the Xperia?
You technically could yeah!
I think sony shold now just slap a raw sensor on back without integrated lens an create lenses to go with it like professional cameras.
Well done for speaking the truth…ijustine, watch this. Xperia is the future.
Yeah, I think it’s about time I get a second phone because you know like Kevin Gates said one for the girls and one for the dough
Wait a moment that's not correct man. Your can actually connect an external microphone to the Xperia 1 V thanks to BT or 3.5mm audio-Jack. This have been possible to do with Sony since Xperia 1 first generation. Don't know what you're smoking. Lol good video though
The cellphone's only advantage is its weight.
And for making calls lol
S-Cinephone
Missed opportunity for Sony 🤣
As a Sony shill... sorry 'representative', we expect the same video tomorrow slotting in the ZV-1 ii (ZV-2).
2:33 IKR 😂
WOW 👑SONY GOD FOREVER#1 ✌️ 👑
Hey Sidney! Sure Xperia 1 V shots look good on a youtube broadcast. So do most any other shots from any other iphone. So what does that prove? A few years ago, I shot a bunch of shots of float planes taking off at Lake Hood in Alaska with both an iphone pro max and with a Sony a6000. Guess what, when compared the a6000 shots were 3X better. I couldn't believe the degradation of the images from a smart phone. Maybe, the Xperia with a better sensor would give me equal results, but to tell u the truth, phone photography reminds me of trying to shoot with a pinhole camera--at a million times the price. Now why don't u blow up those Xperia shots onto a wall sized poster and see how your a7rv shots compare. If u are still convinced that your smartphone equals and/or outdoes the a7rv, please package your Sony camera & donate it to me. With your internet website success, I'm certain that u can write it off as a tax write off & we will both be happy campers. 😎😎
Please Sony add good quality 1080P 960 fps back with less compression and longer record time (2-3 seconds) with an end trigger record mode next year!
The best colours in a phone
Another phone for very niche people, we are all amaze by its capability but in the end of the day wont consider buying it
Definitely in lowlight condition, they are different.
Any heating issu ??
Iphone 14 pro max shoot better video, than sony xperia 1 mk5
just hoping you did a screen recording instead of recording your tutorial with your camera. there's too much rreflection
Why they call IPhones the king of video camera phone? Yeah iPhones are good too, but Sony Xperia phone they are just like the professional cameras
Really big improvement over the old model.
Much better processor and image quality but, we saw that there are still overheating issues.
Even so, i already watced other youtube videos comparing with the iphone, and the iphone video quality was better.
Hello what overheating issues does 1V have?, as for image quality I find 1 IV or 1 V the same but 1V has newer software...the new main lense does not impress me much in low light video.
@@JoeGillian0 Not like mark iv. Sony did significant cooling improvements. They claim 60 % better thermals, but the issues that i´m talking is only because the overheat warnings at 6:06 and 6:21
@@JoeGillian0 I have to correct whtat i said about overheating. That icon is for track focus and not overheat warning like i was saying. Definitely there are no overheat issues.
@@u2be2000 yep indeed, overheating warning is a big yellow sign that is hard to miss ;-)
Most of the issue wasn't even Sony's fault to begin with, it was a Qualcomm issue.
This time both Qualcomm and Sony have fixed their part and this phone I've seen reviewers say they recorded 4K for an hour with no warnings at all.
Wow. Maybe for the average consumer, they can't even tell the difference! Is Sony afraid of cannibalism? Neck and neck!
second from South Korea
The phone is far too sharp and can't handle the detail. Still got a long way to go before the two are comparable imo.
Did you even see the footage I showed with Xperia???? Video quality looks incredible for a phone
Well you said yourself you're still going to use your mirrorless and your iPhone...
I don't vlog though so I'm probably judging it for more professional applications.
Imagine iphone and Samsung, they are years behind, Xperia is the closest...others are far behind
@@The-Heart-Will-Testify I always thought video from iPhones was better than their android counterparts historically. Got sent a fair amount of awful mobile footage to edit during the COVID years... 😭😅
Sony make the iPhone camera sensor after all so I guess they would be best placed to lead mobile camera advancements.
But yeah I just want to use a phone to phone people and a camera to take video / photos. Carrying two items doesn't really bother me. 🤷
You can use cinema or video pro with flat profile and do your own post processing. The level of control is really what makes Sony Xperia phones different. I don't see typical mass market flagship phones go for that market (who really just want P&S and overprocessed but punchy images). In addition you can use 3.5 headphone jack as mic input, use external microSD cards and have a dedicated shutter button.
Pls, don` lie, because Iphone in video, much better than Xperia
Burnt by xperia sensor....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣apple fanboy
Sony > apple, any time ;-)
Semoga bisa dpt experia 1 v
Tanx
❤❤❤❤❤
🤯 Sony
first
Wooo! Enjoy the video!
fck the iphone eco system, i barely use i message anyways, im going to switch to sony.
1v is better
😊
😎
First of all it’s a dumb comparison
Is it though?
Can you take in Photo Mode Panoramics?
Can you put s-cinetone and flat Log
in Cinema pro too or only in Video pro???
