I couldn’t afford $28k for a JD 1025 or for a BX, so I went with Kioti. My local dealer has been selling and servicing them for 20 years. $8k is a lot of money for me, so I’m very appreciative that brands like Kioti are available.
@@garydouglasstewart8731 I regret not getting the backhoe now. I actually could have gotten the tractor, loader, belly mower and backhoe for $1,000 less than the JD with just the loader and mower.
I bought a Massey Ferguson for the same reason, saved literally 6 K for same on same comparison. I was in shock as to the price change because I can't see where the 6 K was on the John Deere.......
Mahindra 1635 here. 2 months and 50 hours later, no regrets. Cleared 2 acres of planted pines. Regraded the entire 2 acres. Pulled stumps, and used it to level my house pad (9 loads of clay mix fill).
Same. I went with the Mahindra 1640 hst cab model. I’m only on 8 acres and got an auger, box blade, backhoe and 3rd function with grapple. It’s plenty for me and the dealer is 8 miles down the road. I’m happy so far and I’m 40 hours in.
Bought a TYM T494 Cab tractor, which was a great deal at $37k compared to JD and Kubota models around 50 hp. Zero issues over the past 2 years. Love it.
Yanmar is the Best for your money. Unless you're constantly going forward and reverse, gear drive is much better than HST. Also keep in mind that just about all Deere tractors under 100 hp have the Yanmar motor. I compared a Kubota 3901 & 3902 vs Yanmar YM 342 and am so glad I went wth the YM342. Much more robust... 16:30 To each his own, but im so satisfied with Yanmar. Deere is comparatively over priced, and there are more implements at better prices for the Yanmar.
Everything yanmar puts out just flat out works and works very well. Very excited to see their new ctl that they’ve partnered up with ASV to make come to dealers.
I did my research for almost a year. Green and Orange priced themselves out of my reach. Looked at the LS at the KY farm show, but they had no dealer within 80 miles of my farm. Looked at the Massey, almost bought it, but saw the Rural King RK55. It has the Yanmar 55HP 4 cyl turbo diesel, Bosch injection, rear remotes, lift capacity and lots of other options for less than any competitor. Been happy with it now for over a year. Zero issues.
That's awesome. I tried to get a RK one and they wouldn't finance me even with money down. JD dealer is only other option and they have taken care of me. Love my yanmar diesel and enjoy deere
I did a lot of research and buying of tractors for my job, and when I retired, I did the same for my personal use. I have established Deere, Kubota and Kioti dealers within 20 miles of me. I ended up with a Kioti CK3510SE that was about $10k less than a similarly spec'ed JD and Kubota.
I started out with a used 20 year old Kubota. Parts were readily available, and the dealer supported the machine. From that time I have only bought Kubota equipment, including 3 tractors and 3 diesel zero turn mowers. So I guess dealer support and the equipment reliability are my motivating factors in premium machinery. I have no doubt that other manufacturers make quality machines at a cheaper price, that's just not the route that I took and feel comfortable with.
My experience exactly. I bought a used low hours Kubota L3010 twenty years ago and have never regretted it. Another option was a low hours Long for sale by a bankrupt landscaper who needed cash badly. What a mistake that would have been. Long is gone, the dealer is gone and where would I get parts? Another option brand new was a Branson selling under another name by a different importer. Same deal. The dealer is history.
I have run John Deere and Kubota and I am one of those I HATE the treddle pedal on Kubota tractors. I really like John Deeres two pedal control so much better. Your heel never moves and you just pivot the front of your foot back and forth it works so well. With a treddle you have to pick up your foot and move it to the rear of the pedal because you cannot bend the front of your foot up enough to get reverse, at least I can't. Many hours on both cutting grass and plowing snow .
@@scrambler69-xk3kvbrother, I know what you mean... but I found that I don't put my foot on the "pegs" themselves. I rest my entire foot just 3" to the left, on the longer bar that those pegs jut out from. Then, instead of having to move your foot (you'd need a size 18 shoe to reach both heel and toe simultaneously), just rest your foot and rock back and forth for reverse and forward. Hope that helps, man!
As a Kubota owner, my next tractor will be a TYM. I love my Kubota but you just get a lot more bang for the buck with TYM. For the price of similarly specked tractors (especially lift capacities), I can almost buy 2 TYMs to the price of a Kubota.
And these are the reasons why I choose a TYM, in the same category of tractors I’m getting twice the tractor and I’m saving about 12 grand. It’s a no-brainer 🤷🏻♂️
Service Manager at a Bobcat dealership here. I agree with your assessment about the state of parts and service. We have improved considerably since I started in my dealership a year ago, part of that was because we did manage to get a really good technician last summer. We have improved our lead times to get a machine in the shop to about 3 days at peak, often we get machines in the same day. Parts availability is all over the place. Generally improving, but still not good enough. I understand that pretty much every brand is in the same boat.
I had the worst customer service from Bobcat (in Australia). The dealership was 130km away, but i was still keen on one. Kioti is in my town, and the customer service was so bad at Bobcat, i turned my attention to the Kioti
I have a Kioti ck3510 with 500 hrs on it. I work it hard!1 i have a small hydraulic leak by the lift arm. I sometimes seem to have an issue with the regen. It wants to regen 3 to 4 times before it cleans itself.. The dealership service is limited in my area! I do think it is a good tractor for the money!!
I just messaged you yesterday about the stump wrecker. I ended up with a bad boy 4025. I wanted the 4035 but here in upstate NY my options were limited and could only find the cab model. My tractor came with the loader and backhoe for under 40k. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I’ve put this thing to it’s limits almost. clearing 8 acres, grading, filling, and bringing in tons of rocks on my new property. I’ve moved huge boulders building a retaining wall and have moved tons of fill dirt. Pulling stumps is tedious with the (any)backhoe but it works. This machine has had zero issues and the engine manufacturer also builds the Cummins diesel so their an established manufacturer. I was quoted way too much from JD and Kubota for a tractor with more hp but incredibly less lifting capacity. I highly recommend bad boy.
JD 2210 have the same driveline failures, parts alone cost me $900. So i did the work myself. My big tractor is a Mahindra 5555 Fwd with loader, very easy to work on, parts is affordable and i can even find parts online direct from India. It was also $15000 less than the JD. Heavy built and strong. Enjoy your videos.
During the fall of 2021 I decided to purchase a tractor primarily for snow removal and tree removal with grass cutting an additional duty. I purchased a Kioti CK2610 with Kioti KG2054 grapple, Flail Mower, Titan ballest box, a 66" bucket and Pirhana Bar, Edge Tamers and rear 72" blade. I am very satisfied with this tractor and equipment. I'm in Valparaiso, Indiana, with two local dealers for support.
I bought a kubota l2501 last year mainly because of the close dealership and afraid of parts availabilty with the cheaper brands. probably nothing wrong with the cheaper brands tho. having said that my kubota has been amazing and has exceeded my expectations.
I would dump my deere, for a Kioti CK2620 in a heartbeat, if I had the money to do so. Talk about a fantastic "bang for the buck". I went to the farm machinery show, and absolutely fell in love with the Kioti!
Solis and Summit are by far the best value in 24-25 horse tractors. They come ready to work. When they get their dealership network established, they will become the standard IMHO. My dream tractor would be a Summit or Solis in a Branson/TYM big frame 2515 with their lifting capacities. And don't forget the phone charger, blue tooth hook-up on the TYM T25. Very nice. I'm getting old. Gimme those side steps, arm rests, and suspension seats. Crap, started to rant, sorry.
I have the micro tractor you referred to as the Massey 'GC'-something model. It's actually made by Iseki and is pretty good. We have larger Massey tractors for the vineyard so it's not our only tractor, There are some questionable design choices, but we run it pretty hard and it's holding up.
Like the video, I have a 2020 Massy GC1725 and have 400 hrs on it so far not a single problem yet. It seems to be a well built tractor and has done everything I need it to do very well, It's not Green or Orange but it makes my life easier! Keep up the good content
Loved this video Courtney. Just sharing your heart on this one. Making a difficult situation to talk about just sound very logical, thank you. In regard to the pickups on this video. In Japan all the Koi breeders up in the mountains use these pickups exclusively. The country of Japan sells them these trucks at discounted rates because they are Koi Farmers. In the Nagasaki Mountains they have a lot of Koi breeders and you see these trucks running up and down the mountains traveling to their mud ponds each and everyday. So interesting that you were able to pick up some of these pickups, haha. Just so you know the most expensive koi sold to date so far was 1.7 million dollars. It’s become such a huge hobby and thousands go every year during harvest in October to buy Koi or see how the koi they purchased years ago are growing in Japan. Thought you might like to know.
I went for a 1025r. I love it. I bought it bc i used to have a Chinese farm pro and learned my lesson. It was used and either miss treated or just built to not last but it broke at every opportunity. I felt jd was a safer way bc they are so common i could easily look up issues on forums if need be. Thats my take. Same goes for my trucks.
Yanmar!!!! I don’t know why people buy another brand. They make the engines 7 other tractor brands. Including John Deere. They have amazing fit and finish, include all the bells and whistle’s, out perform comparable brands and the only company that gives you a 10 warranty, because unlike everyone else, they build the engine and tranny and every other part on the tractor and stand behind their product. They are the best
I don’t have a dealer close by either, I had to pass JD and Kubota dealers and go 2 hours to the closest Yanmar. Worth it. I thought I had broke something 3 months after getting mine. I called the dealer and no questions asked they scheduled the tractor to be picked up and repaired for free. Lucky Yanmar Corp tech support reached out to me and it was an easy solution. So the tractor didn’t leave my property. But that is fantastic customer service. First 2 years will send a tech to you or transport your tractor to a dealer for free.
I agree on getting anything repaired takes a lot longer. I purchased a used John Deere. It was from a private sale. Once owned I discovered it needed service. I called the dealer was told two to three weeks turn around time. Took it there. Three weeks later I call was told it was it was going to be looked at in a couple days still had two units ahead of it. Week five I drive to dealership to see it hadn’t been looked at. Interesting was units brought in after it had been serviced. Six years earlier I had the same dealership actually charge me for my parts then use my parts to repair someone else’s tractor. The guy in service was we had a better customer need them for his repair. The owner of the dealership wasn’t happy when I called him to tell him what I was told. I suspect they happened to do the same on this repair moved me lower on the list. Bad thing is now you can’t go to another dealership because they are all owned by the same group
@@isaacrishel636 yes they are. I’ve test driven one. I thought it was a well appointed and made machine. I was seriously considering to buy one but ended up with a Kubota MX5200. Go figure huh?
Man I remember when I started watching your channel you were 50/50 on the cheap tractors and now you’re coming around to them pretty well. I like it, from Indiana and might head that way for a zero turn and compact
I run Oliver and Ford tractors, I can still get OEM parts from my local Massey Ferguson (AGCO) dealer and get OEM parts from New Holland (Ford). Not only that, but there are many good aftermarket parts available from places like Napa, Steiner, and other dealers. My tractors are mostly 40+ years old! But I am looking at New Holland and Massey now for a more comfortable tractor with a cab. Cold winters hurt my bones, and summer allergies drive me into the house for relief. A cab is going to keep me going longer as I get older.
I have 2 Kubota's, the M5700 is 18 yrs. old and never a problem. The 2650 is 5 yrs. and zero problems. My way of thinking is you usually get what you are willing to pay for. I do take very good care of both and that makes a great difference on any brand.
My dad has had a Boomer 40 since 2012. It has a 2.5L Mitsubishi 4-cylinder vs the 1.9L LS 3-cylinder used in modern LS, New Holland, and Farmall 35/45C Series II tractors. He's close to 500 trouble-free hours.
@@Noah_E I have the 2012 boomer 40. 270 hours. All trouble free. I had my fuel pump turned up for even more power. Everything on the tractor is the same as a boomer 50 right down to the part numbers. Messicks said the only difference is the setting on the mechanical fuel pump. On the PTO dyno we set it to 45 hp vs 32 (about 57 engine hp) with NO problems or “rolling coal”. Fantastic tractor.
My son just bought a 2023 Kioti DK4710. He got it with no cab, adding a grapple bucket, auxiliary front hydraulics, and hydro/throttle interlock. Came in at just over 28k. The dealer has been in business for over 60 years and is only about 15 miles from his house. A similar equipped green tractor would have been half again as much.
I bought a JD 1025r because its turning radius was much better than any other brand. I bought it to mow and since I have a lot of trees this was a criteria. I really like the drive on MMM deck too. IF I were to do it again, I would have looked at a little larger tractor with more lift capabilities.
My experience with the local John deere dealer in Plant City, Fl has made me consider another brand. They had my mower for over 4 weeks to fix a hydraulic leak. When I finally got it back within a month the leak was back. They charged over $600 and ultimately did not fix the problem. It doesn't matter how many dealers they have if their service sucks.
I looked at JD and Kubota and ended up with a Kioti CX2510H and love it! For my property and need it's perfect. I use a bucket, grapple, tree puller and 3 point finish mower with it and it works flawlessly. Easy to work on for maintenance and comfortable to operate. Highly recommend Kioti.
Bought a pretty well used bx2230 8 years ago with 750 hours on it. I have used that little beast for waaay more than I ever thought it could do, and it has been a real pleasure to own. I’m going to retire the little guy and buy my first new tractor, and though I’ve got other options fairly close by, I’m one who will drop the coin for the reputation. Kubota has earned my respect with that little bx and the local dealer is top notch. Everyone has their own experience, but in the end these are all good, heavy machines that will hold up with care. Great video!
I bought a Kioti last year for $22k, where a JD was $32k and not in stock. My local family Kioti dealer (who was awesome) sold out to a larger firm this past spring, dropped Kioti and is now Kubota. Now i've gotta drive 1.5h each way to get my tractor serviced. As an aside, I don't see Summit as a cheap or value tractor - it has a lot of value for it's price range compared to others. It just needs more distribution and service locations. That's a friggin hard thing to do in 2023.
I have a ym342. The gear drive model. Built like a tank. Only 200hrs on it but I don't see any issues in the foreseeable future. Paid 28k vs the JD or Kubota equivalent at 40k. It's not fancy but is a workhorse for sure.
This time of year, I don’t expect my Deere dealer to jump on the repair of my tractors. Their focus right now is on the farmers so they can get their planting and harvesting completed. I live in big wheat country so I respect where I stand in the pecking order.
I shopped far and wide between a Kubota (B01) and Kioti (CX) TLBs... Got quotes from over a dozen dealers. I wanted the Kubota, but it was $4000 more for less capabilities. But the bigger issue was availability: Kubota had no end in sight, no ETA for backhoes. Ironically they're the one part of the package that's US sourced. I tell everyone who's shopping: if it's not on the lot and you can't take it home today, look elsewhere... The unknown ETAs are not worth it. Very happy with my Kioti (my second)
Shopping around for my first tractor I watched this channel, Tractor Time with Tim, and Messicks Equipment to learn the most. What I came up with was that too much research gets you back to square one. I was originally deadset on Kubota and about 40hp. Now I’m leaning towards Kioti because it seems to be the best behind Kubota. They’ve been in the US for 40 yrs so not going anywhere and they make all their own tractors top to bottom so supply shouldn’t be much of an issue. TYM seems to be good too but the dealer isn’t too close except for the Bad Boy Tractors. I’m just gonna go to the 3 dealers and see which is like sitting on and operating the most. The Kubota dealer near me is great, I have quite a few Kioti dealers around me but gotta find one I like, I may also sit on a Bad Boy just to cover my bases. Another thing about Kioti is that you get so much more at a lower price. Especially if you get an SE model that has the extra hydraulics from the factory and other little things.
Bought a Kubota from a local dealer. Reviewed JD, LS & Mahindra. Mahindra dealer too far away, JD close but they have restrictions on who services them. Kubota dealer had a bad reputation but I didn’t find that to be true. Courteous, responsive & customer focused. Just had 400 hour service. They picked it up & brought it back for $100. It was washed, the finish mower was cleaned & blades were sharpened. They even took my wife’s Toro garden tractor & serviced it.
Both Kubota and John D are within the same distance from me. I own two Kubota now because each time I walked into John D dealer, they where talking to me like they are doing me a BIG favor At the end of the day, the service and parts availability is the most important
That's funny, I had the EXACT opposite experience 6 years ago here in Biloxi MS. The Kubota dealer was disinterested in my $$$ even though I actually wanted to spend more than we originally discussed! The BX23 TLB was too small so I wanted to move up to the next series, with a backhoe for a substantial premium nonetheless. I asked him to get me a package price but I wanted to ink a deal that day! I also discussed purchases with the JD dealer in Gulfport a few days earlier and had options there as well. I really thought I was going orange but at the end of the day the Kubota dealer didn't return my call until AFTER I bought the JD 1025R. I never looked back and love my JD SCUT! Green paint is expensive but orange paint has become obnoxious! As they always say: "your results may vary".
Bought a kioti RX 6620 cab, very nice especially in winter, chain on front, beast tried to get it stuck not happening on hilly roads. Lots of hydraulics front and rear, camera fwd, rear for box & quick hitch works great a must. DPF not so good, but can regen when needed. Loader with grapple a must, will put that on my JD. 270 hrs. Kioti And not problems. Winch on top of box scraper good addition. Changed out all the cheap work lights for LED’s . Enjoy your truthfulness about equipment. Cheers from N.idaho
I bought a Bobcat CT2040 because I have a good relationship with my local dealer. I've purchased from him previously and that determined my latest tractor purchase, not seeking out a particular brand.
I was a nervous wreck when I traded my green tractor in on an LS. What was I getting myself in to? But I got a lot more tractor for the same money (including a cab). And I've not been disappointed at all. 3yrs now and I still love it more than my green one and never had a problem. The comment on more metal had me confused. My green one had a plastic hood and fenders. The LS has metal.
Your spot on with dealers, I'm in a municipal background we have name brand equipment starting with the letter B unfortunately the reliability is terrible, we take care of our equipment, dealer support is empty the fact that filters are proprietary and expensive has soured the brands name and integrity. There are neighboring municipalities they run some other import brands and have very good luck with them the parts are available and filters are common making maintenance much easier plus there are reliable. Nothing is more frustrating than breakdowns on the job site.
I did a good amount of online research to right-size my tractor purchase. I now have 477 hours on my Kioti CK3510 HST (non-cab) and just love it. With loader and backhoe a Kubota was $7k more (quote from dealer). I don't care about resale or dealer work because I do my own repairs. That $7k has gone for a canopy, front bucket edge, grapple, pallet forks, stump grinder and used tiller. I have had no issues with my Kioti. You need light green or darker orange go for it. You want a quality tractor for less, do some homework. They're called "value brands" for a reason.
i had an LS MT347. i didnt have it all that long, but I loved it. it seemed very well built and it was a beast. it was seriously twice the tractor that you could get from kubota or deere for the same money. when i priced them out, that 47 hp tractor was the same price as the kubota and deere 25 hp models. it was 4500 lbs compared to those being around 2500 lbs, and it had a loader lift capacity of like 2,750 lbs vs their 1500 lbs.. and it had all of the exact same features. it wasnt lacking any of the goodies the name brands have. i couldnt justify getting such a smaller tractor for the same money just because of the name. it seemed like it would have lasted a really long time and was built very well. the loader was a beast. the only reason i sold it is becaused i moved to a property that i didnt think i would need a tractor for, and i dont have a shop or anything to keep it inside . i actually wish i would have kept it now that i have a couple projects in mind. o well. i didnt have it long enough to expereince any issues, but i am definitely a fan of that tractor
We have a Mahindra 4540. Not for everyone but fits our needs perfectly and has performed beyond my expectations. We needed FEL capacity, 3pt capacity, 4x4 and weight.
Interesting comments. I am a computer nerd, small pot of land and bought a JD 3032E. I bought it because, drive through the farms around here, and they are all JD!! I took mine in yesterday for a 3 pt hitch problem. They put it in immediately, and I am a nobody. Meanwhile, my job alllows me to have Kioti as a customer. They have recently moved into the number 3 spot for mid-market tractors and are aggressively looking at number 2. They acknowledge there is a challenge with parts and service, but they state the challenge is getting dealers they can depend on. My local Hardware/Outdoor equipment provider, brought in the Branson line carried them for almost 6 years, and now they are going away and TYM is no keeping the promises. The Tractor supply industry has some real issues, seems to be the MFG, dealer and supplier are all experiencing challenges. Not sure how to fix them though!
Question for you I have a cub cadet 7305 tractor and I was wondering what issues these old tractors have? My biggest complaint so far is parts availability. I have just over 1,000 hours on it right now just want to know what to look out for. Thank you.
Good/bad dealership is the way to go. When shopping for my tractor I really WANTED to buy at a local dealership, I could have driven the tractor home it was that close. I went in and talked to the sales “manager” telling him what I wanted and asked to get a quote. He was “busy” at the time - strike one. Said he would put a package together and get it to me - never an email or call. Strike two and three! If they are too busy to even help you out I can only ponder what happens if there are service issues! There are good and bad dealers even with green or orange; don’t be fooled! Buy from the best dealer you feel good about, my green dealer is one of 4 in our metro and the furthest from my homestead; but was willing to go the extra mile to make sure I had what we needed.
You didn't mention brand, but that sounds like the JD dealers near me. If you are buying anything less than a $300k combine don't expect an email or call back or more than "the specs are online." When I asked about a 2038R one dealer totally ignored me and the other said they might be able to get me one in five months if I left a deposit and paid full MSRP upon delivery. Like they were doing me a favor to sell me a tractor sight-unseen.
@@Noah_E nope, it was a New Holland dealership. They still to this day have never returned an email or phone call. I had some bad JD dealerships too…found one outside the metro and they were happy to accommodate me. A salesperson who actually listened and has been out to my property 3 times.
I really like your channel, I have recently bought a Yanmar tractor, I did a lot of homework and decided this was the best tractor for my application. I did find that John Deere and Kabota were much more expensive in comparison to the horsepower and size of the machine.
I also just bought a Yanmar. The 20 year old JD I am replacing has a Yanmar motor in it. If Yanmar is good enough to put in a JD it’s good enough for me. The price was amazing.
Yanmar owner here the price vs what you get was way better then the JD and kubota dealers near me luckily I had a Yanmar dealer near though they don't have a big network the warranty was a big factor they where willing to give it a ten year something no other tractor comes close to.
I was a dedicated fanboy for John Deere tractors after watching Courtney here on this channel and Tim on Tractor Time with Tim. Well, when it came time to buy I priced the JD 1025r and the Kubota BX. JD dealer is 15 miles from my house. The Kubota dealer was 6 miles. I went to the Bad Boy Tractor dealer 21 miles away. I fell in love with the BB 1022 immediately! I bought the 1022 with FEL, backhoe and pallet forks for the same price as a stock tractor from JD or Kubota. My only issue is aftermarket accessories are hard to buy as small manufactures don’t try to address this market segment. JUfabworks is coming out with a Master Workplate that will fit my BB. It would serve all these guys well if they would think that Bad Boy, Branson and TYM are the same. I need front tie down points, side step and other cool accessories just like JD and Kubota.
Kubota jacked their prices 3x in 10 months. The new LX20 series sounds awesome, but you might as well spend the extra few grand for the Grand L and have twice the tractor. Very happy with my Kioti CK2620se cab. Dealer is 10 minutes away and has been around for a while now.
I bought a TYM and apparently they had a major input shaft issue (it was this odd 20 piece design with ball bearings) and stress would destroy them. I'm in that boat now, waiting a month for the second generation shaft with universal joints. Problem is there's no anticipated delivery date - everything is backordered!!!!
@pmaint1 I believe the shop said pre-2014 compact and subcompact models. The input shaft was a spring and ball bearing design with more than 20 pieces. In 2014 they switched to a solid shaft with 2 universal joints. Much simpler, and far more durable
Looking at the tree behind you, did not know deer hunting season is on in Michigan at this time of year. 😃 I had a Mahindra 1816HST for 12 years until last April. Only problem I had was I had to change the glow plugs, which was a self-inflicted wound. That's it! 600 hours of free trouble. But I wanted quickhitch and a bit more power for the snowblower. So I bought a Kioti CX2510 HST. Very satisfied so far.
LS tractors are excellent even when one forgets about cost comparisons. When you bring cost into the equation, it is a no-brainer. With a farm background and many tractors of all makes, I am on my third LS (moved from an open station compact to a cabbed compact and now a utility with nearly 450hrs on the clock). All have been highly reliable and a pleasure to operate. Funny thing was before I bought the cabbed compact, I thought I wanted a 4066. JD dealers hardly paid attention to me at their shops and none followed up with me even though I left my contact info with them. I guess if you are not spending a minimum of $500K, you are just a distraction from real bottom line profit. My LS dealer knocks himself out having been responsive both before and after the sale. Go figure.
Came here to say this. I’m on my first LS and very happy with the dealer and the machine. Courtney drags an LS in this video but my impression is that LS has really upped their game in recent years. Their value pitch odd the strongest out there
Same here, I bought the LS over the green machine. I also left my info with the salesman, no call back, nothing. Im glad he didnt call me back! I feel ad if I have a much nicer, and just as good or better tractor in the LS.
Totally enjoyed this video. In the sub-com world, I took a lot of time looking, watching, but mainly listening. Grew up Wheel Horse and IH with nothing in the middle, too big/too small was always the case. After all the dust/fog of war of again looking, watching, and listening to my fellows with all the tasks, comfort, parts, and reliability questions/scenarios. The JD 1025R won. So far ... hint ... I believe I can go on record and say I could not afforded NOT to go with the 1025R. My case, still want an "as light as possible" mow rig while desiring a "reasonable material relocation management" of course with safe ballistic capabilities. Didn't grow up JD just saying now this one is it. It's my Swiss army knife.
Five years ago I purchased a Nortrac 35xt and towards the end of the first season the hydraulic gear pump went out stranding it in the middle of the woods. Northerntool support was great and it was a learning lesson in trying to figure out which parts were the correct one for the engine model I had...not as easy as it should have been, which is the downside to the manuals that come from the manufacturer in China but eventually with the support person over the phone did identify it. It was during covid so it took 4 months to get the no charge part and in the mean time I was able to find another one in about 2-3 weeks. After reviewing all the other tractors out there I'd say I'd love to get a John Deere but they are simply out of my price range. Even the used ones are priced either at or close to where the value tractor prices come in. As long as you're handy and there's no major engine work that needs to be performed and can get parts, value is a great way to go. I'm looking forward to when Summit Tractors comes closer to my area. That will be my next one.
My grandfather has a 2015 nortrac 35xt and it breaks down In stupid ways on a regular basis. I won't buy one. I have a 1997 ford 1920 that will do more work with far less problems.
I was shopping around for tractors and had finally decided on a Kioti. Went back to get it and the dealer had closed. Called the next closest dealer and they said nobody knows why they closed. One day they were open the next they weren't. At that point I didn't have a dealer closer than 3 hrs 1 way so I went with a used deere. The 2210 I bought has the driveshaft problems as well.
If you use your tractor in your business and bid jobs, brand does matter. People in the tractor world may have moved beyond the big two, but most people haven’t done research into these other brands and it makes a difference on how customers perceive your company.
I lived in Ohio for 20 years. Everything up there was case, John Deere, etc. No one even talked about Yanmar, Kioti, Mahindra, etc. Matter of fact, it was a very brand loyal area. I love in Texas and picked out a Kioti. The thing has been incredible and is just as good as any big name brand. It also has a killer warranty and was about $6,000 cheaper. If im not mistaken, some JDs even use yanmar engines.
The guys at Summit may be on to something by selling through retail outlets and having a network for parts and service. I like the Summit tractors, but i still think it is too early to know if it will succeed. Just one other thing to add to the discussion is resale value. I don't know about the other brands, but I do know that JD and Kubota hold their values well. Many of us might have a change in needs and the resale value will come up. I did look up Summit, because they are available in our area throught Atwoods. I found it interesting that many of their King Kutter attachments are available in that Summit green.
I bought a kioti rx7320 power shuttle transmission with a self leveling loader I was seeing what you think about a the tractor,it cost a lot less than a john Deere and my Massey Ferguson both cost around 70 thousand dollars kioti around 54.000 thousand, just wanted to what you think about it
I have a 2021 Kioti 7320 cab with same transmission. I enjoy it. So far been a very reliable tractor and way less expensive than a Kubota and JD. Dealership is 2.5 hour drive though. I do all servicing myself.
I’m trying to decide between the Kioti 7320 and either a Kubota M7060 or M4D071. I have 3 Kubota dealerships within 35 miles. The closest Kioti is an hour away. But I can get the Kioti with the upgrades (clutch button, extra remote, adding a 3d function, etc for less $ than the Kubotas. Decisions Decisions.
I got mine for a little over 63k includes taxes and other fees after discount and 4500.00 trade in also that includes loader grapple and third function
Tractors are essentially tools. I learned many years ago to buy proven quality tools from life experience. I have purchased cheap tools and regretted it. I now pay more for quality tools. JD and Kubota have a good reputation in general… for now but may change in the future. All my tractors were Kubotas because they’ve exceeded my expectations. I’m not a fanboy. If Kubota let me down I’d switch in a heartbeat.😊
I used to read a lot of posts on tractorbynet and am aware that everyone has problems with every make. I guess I’m lucky for now so no desire to change.
As a big channel fan, I can honestly say I never saw the poll on witch tractor would I buy? But I’ve owned JD and I know own a Kioti! Way happier with Kioti because it allows me to buy more accessories!
In retrospect, I should have done more research, but I went with Deere because the dealership is a local, family run small business and they’re 4 miles from my house. I’ve had it serviced and a warranty repair (improperly installed gasket from the factory) done at the same time. It took 3 months to get my tractor in, and they kept it for a month, and it was $100. for them to transport it. When I got it back, there was corrosion on the battery terminal, so I’m wondering how thorough the service was. But what has disappointed me most is the loader arms are made in China. So, in the future, I will definitely be looking at the “budget brands”.
This is the thing most people fail to recognize. Every manufacturer uses a GLOBAL supply chain. The final assembly may have been performed in the US but those components were manufactured in factories all over the world including China, Taiwan, India, etc. Very few things are truly 100% American made. Most who claim it are actually sourcing their components from suppliers in the US who get their raw materials from overseas.
I'm a small full-time farmer and bought two new Deere utility loader tractors one after the other, in the 70 HP range. Why not Kubota? Some of the features were behind Deere and the folding ROPS would not fit into my barn stables without torching it off. The primary reason I bought new Deere was that my livelihood depended on the tractor starting and running everyday, I'm not a "weekend warrior" . The Deeres were comparable in price new with other major brands but the resell value was greater at trade-in time. I also was in the market for a used 90HP tractor with cab for serious field work (do not have a farm large enough to justify this new). I looked for Deere, CaseIH, New Holland. No "value" or "minor" brand was even considered. If I wanted on-line parts diagrams and ordering, substantial aftermarket parts choice, online help forums, and dealers that weren't "fly by night" shuffling brands, I stuck to only the major known brands.
Bought an LS XR4150 shuttle shift and cab for 29k before pandemic very smart move on my part 445 hrs except for a from the factory burnt wiring issue has been a great purchase, dealer support great
I went and looked at a Solis H24 today and had some concerns. The buckets seemed thinner, and the shifting levers were already coroding an inch down from knob. It is a new tractor on lot so I thought OK maybe just one. However, the other 2, same issue. But on these the paint was already chipping off the top of the bucket and rusting. Rust spots the size of a baseball. The salesman said, "Go look at any tractor out there they all have Rust. They carry TYM and also LS. When you said summit is made by same company as Solis, that phrase of cheap metal got my attention. What's your take on this Solis issue I see. Here in Canada they have the tractor on for $26k loader and backhoe included. Approximately 10k cheaper then most.
Long story short. I was looking at a John Deere. Then, I ran across a 1 year old LS 4145 deal that I couldn’t pass up. I couldn’t be happier with it compared to most of the JDs. It is now 8 years old and still doing its job. Caveat. I have a service dealer very close to my home. If I had not, I would have went with the JD for that reason.
I was in need of a tractor with a loader, I have a 2003 Cub Cadet 7305 and is my main mowing tractor. I looked at the Mahindra 1626 Mitsubishi built, did not like the E-throttle setup/governor. Looked at the John Deere 3025D, did not like the build quality, fit and finish. I ended up with a Kubota L2501DT because it was in my budget and the financing. I'm happy with my purchase, and the brands I was looking at are based on the dealers locally to me.
I do not know much about tractors. I am looking for a small one for a plot of land I plan to buy. When I looked at Summit's website, they say you can buy from Home Depot in TN. When I look at Home Depot's website, they do not have them anywhere on their site.

I couldn’t afford $28k for a JD 1025 or for a BX, so I went with Kioti. My local dealer has been selling and servicing them for 20 years. $8k is a lot of money for me, so I’m very appreciative that brands like Kioti are available.
Great tractor
My fil got one and I’m working it for him this weekend. He got the backhoe attachment, and I’m digging a pond for him.
@@DavisShopworx green paint
The “less steel” comment is pretty funny. My TYM has a cast iron rear axle and steel hood while the Deere tractors are aluminum and plastic. 🤷♂️
Just purchased a bad boy 4035 a few months ago. 15 hard hrs, so far so good. Smooth excellent machine. Doing mostly land clearing.
Dealers, dealers, dealers. Support, support, support. No JD or Kubota dealers within 1 hour. I have a Mahindra, and TYM dealer within 20min.
But I only have a Kabota dealer so I got to pay up I guess,
I started out with a used 20 year old Kubota.
Kioti has the dual peddle as well. @@scrambler69-xk3kv
Love my kioti dk4210se cab so far. Its been a beast the front end loader capacity has impressed me.
Same. 5310se here
My massy 1825E is a beast of a tractor! My dealer support is fantastic! I can't say anything bad about my little massy it's super capable!
Got the same machine with a backhoe and third function for my 6 acres. Does everything I want it to do.
@P Fe I should have got the backhoe!
Mine has been fantastic as well. Got a nice grapple with it, and other than trying to push it beyond what I should, it hasn't let me down yet.
Mine is similar MF1834e. It is simple but as everything I really need, durable(steel not plastic) no issue and good services!
@@utetopia1620 Sorry to hear about that experience.
I've already mentioned this on your channel. I bought JD, only b/c the Summit simply isn't available out in Oregon.
Look underneath and see if important things are protected....
They’ve been around for over 100 years too. Just wish they’re biggest tractor wasn’t a 59hp. A 74hp tractor would be awesome from yanmar
For me, it’s the only brand that I don’t have a dealer anywhere near me
I don’t have a dealer close by either, I had to pass JD and Kubota dealers and go 2 hours to the closest Yanmar. First 2 years will send a tech to you or transport your tractor to a dealer for free.
lol, they are the most plain Jane poor fit n finish that you can buy. I just looked at them and shook my head, can’t believe anyone would buy one.
I bought Kioti and I love it! Out lifts the Deere and the Kubota! Just an all around great machine
My massy gc1725 is amazing I’ve had no issues. I shopped all the brands and massy definitely has the best bang for your buck.
The little Massey’s are high quality Japanese made machines. I almost bought a larger Iseki tractor which are very similar.
I love my little Massey it's just a handy little tractor
Love my Yanmar. Not many dealer’s though. Tractor runs great, lots of power
Love my new holland boomer 40! Only 40 hours so far but I’m very pleased with it.
Traded my Kubota in on a New Holland Boomer, looked at LS, but when you dig deep NH was a better choice.
Thanks for the look at this issue.
I've had nt Massey GC1720 nearly 5 years. Going on 400 hrs, and no problems. Great local dealer also.
It will take a long time to spend 10k driving 1.5hr
@@DonnieDarko727 it's gonna cost about 6k for a trailer here to take it to the dealer now, plus the time when something breaks to get parts. :(
@@6point5 gotcha
What about Yanmar? I don't hear much talk about them. I would like to hear your thoughts regarding those tractors. Thanks.
LS, tym, kioti or summit. More for attachments. I had the exact same thing in mind. Parts and service availability. Common parts. Some interchange.
😊Thanks for being honest and straight forward! Nice job!🇺🇸🚜
Both Kubota and John D are within the same distance from me.
I own two Kubota now because each time I walked into John D dealer, they where talking to me like they are doing me a BIG favor
At the end of the day, the service and parts availability is the most important
I bought a kioti ck3520se cab recently and so far it has been great
I was a nervous wreck when I traded my green tractor in on an LS.
Haven't heard too many people call them value brands except the people that is trying to sell them.
i had an LS MT347. i didnt have it all that long, but I loved it. it seemed very well built and it was a beast. it was seriously twice the tractor that you could get from kubota or deere for the same money. when i priced them out, that 47 hp tractor was the same price as the kubota and deere 25 hp models. it was 4500 lbs compared to those being around 2500 lbs, and it had a loader lift capacity of like 2,750 lbs vs their 1500 lbs.. and it had all of the exact same features. it wasnt lacking any of the goodies the name brands have. i couldnt justify getting such a smaller tractor for the same money just because of the name. it seemed like it would have lasted a really long time and was built very well. the loader was a beast. the only reason i sold it is becaused i moved to a property that i didnt think i would need a tractor for, and i dont have a shop or anything to keep it inside . i actually wish i would have kept it now that i have a couple projects in mind. o well. i didnt have it long enough to expereince any issues, but i am definitely a fan of that tractor
We have a Mahindra 4540. Not for everyone but fits our needs perfectly and has performed beyond my expectations. We needed FEL capacity, 3pt capacity, 4x4 and weight.
Wait, what did he say about the JD 2305? (Around time stamp 6:40). I have one. Can I avoid this expensive problem he speaks of?
As you said, “You get the tractor it’s the start of everything”. That is the key and where all your money will go.
You will love the dihatsu trucks. Great for many chores. Bed is easy to reach into. It will replace your utv/atv for chores.
Solid video Courtney. Well done
Some of the kubota L series, mine included came from the factory with no front axle oil. Be sure to check that as it couldn’t hurt.
Kioti for the win 100%. Beat bang for your buck and great performance
Great informative video! Looking at the field in the background - I'm really curious about those mini trucks!
Just got a Mahindra compact and absolutely love it .
@daved8551 What model and year TYM had this issue?
@pmaint1 I believe the shop said pre-2014 compact and subcompact models. The input shaft was a spring and ball bearing design with more than 20 pieces. In 2014 they switched to a solid shaft with 2 universal joints. Much simpler, and far more durable
Looking at the tree behind you, did not know deer hunting season is on in Michigan at this time of year. 😃
I had a Mahindra 1816HST for 12 years until last April.
Go figure.
That’s my experience at both JD and Kubota dealerships. Stewart Martin and P&K Equipment.
LS and New Holland are the same tractor pretty much.
I've got an LS XR4150 and it's been everything I wanted in a tractor 3 yrs old 445 hrs on it, was 6-8 grand cheaper than a green or orange one
I have a lawnmower shop near me that just moved into ventrac and Mahindra. I would look at summit if they had a dealership in eastern PA
This is a very good video. Thank you!
It's a lot cheaper than the kobota and John Deere
It also comes with a self leveling loader too
I got mine for a little over 63k includes taxes and other fees after discount and 4500.00 trade in also that includes loader grapple and third function
Fantastic video as usual a fair assessment
You should become a kioti dealer
I was in need of a tractor with a loader, I have a 2003 Cub Cadet 7305 and is my main mowing tractor. I looked at the Mahindra 1626 Mitsubishi built, did not like the E-throttle setup/governor. Looked at the John Deere 3025D, did not like the build quality, fit and finish. I ended up with a Kubota L2501DT because it was in my budget and the financing. I'm happy with my purchase, and the brands I was looking at are based on the dealers locally to me.
Can we get a kioti on the channel would love to see that
For me, there are three or four Bobcat dealerships in my area, and they came with a good price tag. Easy choice for me.
I do not know much about tractors. I am looking for a small one for a plot of land I plan to buy. When I looked at Summit's website, they say you can buy from Home Depot in TN. When I look at Home Depot's website, they do not have them anywhere on their site.
I'd like info on those white trucks in your video. I think you said they are dump trucks. What brand are they and what do they cost?
