@@SmartIndian_7337 That accident put Sabu and Jose closer together at the end of that scene which gave the impression to the audience that maybe Jose will remember the incident through Sabu. But later, we see that Jose began to remember the situation when he saw a man coming out the police station with an umbrella.
@@josephpendleton4927 idiosyncratic? Meena can choose her dressing according to her choice. But this particular dressing style really looks off for that character.
@@harikrishnan2713 We are not talking about Meena's personal dressing choices. Our focus is on how Rani is dressed in Drishyam 2 which is decided by film costume department after consulting with Meena. There is nothing wrong with dressing style of Rani. It goes perfectly well with the context of the film's plot. Yes, I used the word idiosyncratic. What's ordinary for a person may appear strange to another person.
@@josephpendleton4927 You serious mate? It's Meena who was obstinate in sticking on to that make-up style which looks really odd for that character. Even Jeethu owned up this reason in a Manorama Online interview. It might look fine and blend in well with your perspective of that character, but it awfully sticks out atleast for me and people like me. As for the word Idiosyncrasy, it means "a strange or unusual habit, way of behaving, or feature that someone or something has". Don't tell me you have used that word to describe that character and not Meena.
@@harikrishnan2713 There is nothing wrong with Meena having makeup and wonderful dressing style since it fits perfectly well with the context of Rani's character in Drishyam 2. Rani’s wonderful dressing style and makeup work perfectly well with the plot of the film and it also helped in concealing the internal feelings of Rani (which is driven by fear, loneliness, and tension) as much as possible from people outside her family. It also goes perfectly well with the religious context of the character as well. Georgekutty wanted his family to conceal whatever happened in their past associated with Varun and move on as happy as possible as if nothing happened. Georgekutty strongly insisted on concealing fear and tension since fear and tension can lead them into danger. You can see that when the police come to see Georgekutty and Rani on the issue about the quarrels between Sabu and Saritha. If Rani (Meena) expresses sadness, misery, fear, etc. in her face, then people outside will start thinking that something is bothering her. This will only increase their suspicions. So Meena's makeup and her wonderful dressing style for the character of Rani work perfectly well with the situation. Another point is it is the duty of the parents to cheer up Anju (who suffers from Epileptic condition which is caused by fear and tension) by trying to give her a joyful atmosphere. Depressive atmosphere can make the condition worse. If Anju sees her parents (Georgekutty and Rani) depressed, then she will become more depressed. So Georgekutty and Rani tried to make the atmosphere cheerful for Anju. I know what idiosyncrasy is. Some people use the word "peculiarity" instead of idiosyncrasy. It all depends upon the context and the location. You find Meena's dressing style (including make up) for Rani to be peculiar to you. There is nothing peculiar about it since it fits perfectly well with the context of the film's plot-line as mentioned above.
