Kpop's always been cringe, it's part of the charm! People only act like it's a bad thing when they need a reason to say bad things about someone they already dislike. It's also super alarming how a single unsubstantiated rumour can ruin someone's career as an idol. Like it only takes one weirdo that decides to lie on your name being taken at their word and it's over.
A lot of the idols that are hated for being "cringe" are usually young (like in their teens) which sucks, considering they're being hated for normal behavior. Most teens I know are cringe, I was cringe as a teen and every other teen was cringe as well. Most of our faves have cringy clips, photos or accidents buried in their idol career but that's what makes them human. Realizing we were cringe at some points in our lives is a part of growing up.
Honestly, I became a moa after I saw Hueningkai doing something so cringe I had to close my laptop for a couple of minutes. He stole my heart right away. I don't know, there is something about cringe moments that can be really charming for me. And idols having to pretend to be perfect in every aspect is a little disheartening. (English is not my first language so if something doesn't make sense, sorry :-P) Like in Wonyoung case, when I saw the strawberry thing, honestly, I laughed. But I thought she was cute, I don't why it got people so mad at her. Pd. Jay is also my first pick. He is talented, charming and funny... He has to debut.

When idols act cute and cringey people are upset because “they’re grown” and “they should act their age” but when an idol is calm and has no big reactions people call them rude, cold, boring, or run around claiming they hate their members when we all literally don’t know what these idols are like off camera and behind closed doors.

And then cry wolf once the person is actually kicked out and was innocent. They NEVER learn, it’s like a game for them to ruin people’s livelihoods.
