    Did these for over a year. Read Back Mechanic and Gift of Injury. Had a video call with Brian Carroll. Saw a McGill Master Clinician in person for the 3 hour assessment and follow ups. Spent thousands of dollars. All this did absolutely nothing for my L4/L5 disc bulge. I am still in daily pain.

    Makes me want to cry too. About 8 years ago my balance started being weird and it was after I had horrible back pain for years. Nothing that ever needed surgery. No one believes me or knows why my balance is off. At least none of my doctors. It isn’t coming from my head and the back doesn’t hurt much any more. I weigh 126, no diabetes, no heart disease and I’ve walked or ridden bike for transportation for years until lately. I am getting these books and I’ve watched Dr McGill’s videos in the past. Rewatching them now.

    Dr’s don’t care about people in pain, they just give medicine that doesn’t work and send people on their way, some years ago I hurt my back on the job couldn’t stand up straight. MRI said stenosis, facet joints, basically they don’t know. I was only out of work for a year sent back when it was nothing else they could do, now just live every single day in pain, and can barely walk 10min without having to sit, use any and everything to help me move through life, tables, counters and cane. Just waiting to be gone and hoping it’s not a long drag out thing. Pain changes who you are and being in pain is just exiting it’s definitely not living and only those with money can get help that’s needed.

    Hi Dr McGill, or anyone that can help.
    These past few days I have been studying your work and gained tons of great information. All the core exercises I will be doing from now on. I am an athlete and Im big in football, Also i had a knee ACL injury and i recovered from that without surgery and now I'm great and stronger than ever, however i need to maintain a lot of hamstring strength and stiffness. I do a lot of hyperextensions and Nordic curls and glue ham raises and goodmorings. I have read some of your work on the hyperextension and how it puts a lot of pressure on the discs but i couldn't find a alternative. What are exercises other than the bird dog you do with athletes for the posterior chain that can be overloaded for athleticism. Should I stop doing hyper extensions? And also are hanging leg raises bad for your spine? Thanks

    • @ariking26
      @ariking26 6 лет назад +1

      T.athletic You can do a banded bird dog, bird dog with ankle and/or hand weights to increase the overloading important for athleticism

  • @smiechu47
    @smiechu47 6 лет назад +1

    I feel like he's over extending his lordosis during the deadlift. Should the lower back be straight or should you keep that natural curve in your lower back when deadlifting?

  • @woojinjoo241
    @woojinjoo241 8 месяцев назад

    not sure if I'm understanding correctly. Did Dr McGill recommend ditching the straps? As in, no straps when deadlifting?
    Does that mean you'd do alternate grips? hook grip? Isn't there a point when the grip becomes the bottle neck?

    • @Nmdresser
      @Nmdresser 2 месяца назад

      Double overhand to lock in the lats and get symmetry. Then hook grip for heavy sets. Pick your battles at higher weights.
