Epic review on this one. Solid work and cheers for the mention at the end, knew you’d love it! 😎
Thanks man, and no worries :)
No one in the UK hates the mk7 ST. One of the most loved cars.
its the owners people frown on. They can be knobs (Not all, but some)
No we hate them
@@WingsOfNovaaris and such the insurance on them is a bit more expensive cause of the demographic of people that buy them
@@gamesmaster1060 yeah agree. I’m 20 and have one so I’m probably part of that demographic on my age. But I drive like a granny most of the time. If I want to drive my car like I stole it, I’ll take it on a track day but because it’s done 19k miles, I don’t want to rag it.
@@WingsOfNovaaris Yeah lol, I'm 25 but I drive calmly most of the time. Honestly I am tempted to buy a mazda mx5 as I don't need 4 seats atm but they seem to get a lot of rust issues
Yank, here. I have a '17 that I bought new. With some intake bits, an intercooler and a custom tune, it makes 210 hp and 276 tq at the wheels.
These cars are pretty rare in the Americas. Only car guys notice it at all, and even that's pretty rare.
I don't worry about it getting stolen. Most Americans can't drive a manual, and there's no demand for these cars in chop shops.
Anyway, this thing is an absolute joy on a twisty road, and I'll never sell it. I even bought a second car to keep it out of the snow and salt.
Don't worry about what other people think. It's your car, you like it, and that's enough.
Peace from the USA!
I’ve heard they’re very rare over there! Thanks for your comment and enjoy!
Absolutely love the edit style here mate - awesome review as always :)
Thanks mate :)
Had one for 7 years and had 120k miles when I finished with it. Even with the stereotypes 😅
Super reliable, probably because I didn't mess with it. Highly recommend if you are in the market for an all round fun/cheap hatch.
Awesome man! Yeah they’re great little hot hatches for the money
Great car, i had my white mk7 ST 215 for 7 years and just recently traded it in for a mk8.5 ST 3door, and it’s been brilliant so far.
I couldn’t bring myself to go to the 3 cylinder!🤢😂
I used to be a hater of ford always been an Audi man but I got one 2 days ago a 2016 mk7 with the mountune upgrade so 215ps, now I love these little cars I know why the st gangs rated them. Brilliant car constant smiles every time I put my foot down.
It is brilliant fun! 😁
As a long term prospect the engine is much more likely to last than the mk8
Superb cars- loved mine as standard and tuned. Viper 106v is a solid bet, had one in both my Mk7 and my Mk4 Focus. Great review. Haters gonna hate!
Thanks mate, they’re really lovely to drive these cars.
Fantastic cars👌. The majority of haters will never have driven one.
They are little pocket rockets. Especially when even slightly modified. I'm 51 and I've been driving a Revo stage 2 one for the last 18 months. Absolutely smiles per miles as a daily.
That said I recently drove 370 miles on a journey.I could hardly walk when I got out of it 😂😂
100%, the haters don’t know what they’re missing 🙌🏻
I am a bit of a lump and my hips used to ache a bit after driving mine ! 😮
Had my 2015 mp215 st-3 for nearly 10 years and had zero issues and a lot of fun. Finally going to trade it in for a GLA 45s AMG.
Any pics have still got it
Why? Sure the ST is old now, but what a culture shock going from something so chuckable and entertaining
@@Diamus101 I just wanted to get something a bit more premium. The ST was a great car, but the GLA AmG 45s is on a different level. I'm a bit older now and the ST's suspension was getting to me a bit.
@@Crazen2 Enjoy I respect what you are saying. I'm 59, loving my mk4 Focus ST. Defo a drivers car by any definition so I cannot lie and say it has anything like a soft ride.
I like the standard Zetec spec of the mk7 Fiesta, I agree they look nicer than the mk8
Great handling car. Super light so it’s fun to throw around a corner but still pretty stable and higher speeds. Also love the tuning of the suspension. Absorbs bumps and potholes super well but is tight enough to do well in the corners 👍
Perfectly described!
I had one as a daily for a couple of years when they were still quite new. Not bad cars but I never found the driving position very good. I had a GT86 after it and that was soooo much more comfortable.
What didn't you like about the driving position ?
@@thurmanmerman9099 I found either the pedals were to close or the gearstick was too far away. Ford just slapped the sports seats in but didn't consider how it effected everything else (as the reccaro seats are a different height and thickness). The amount of forward tilt on the headrest was also weird and really uncomfortable.
In the GT86 you sit quite flat and they have positioned everything just right, so it was a lot nicer to sit in for long drives.
@@BlatentlyFakeName ok, i was gonna buy one as a daily runabout, i wanted a sporty car that's cheap to tax and good on fuel
Had my 2014 st2 Mountune in spirit blue from new ( also added auto lights, wipers, style pack, climate control, folding mirrors). Just gone past 90k miles. It’s been perfectly reliable. Just had cambelt and water pump done, other than that tires and some brakes etc, general maintenance. Does all I need whilst making it fun! Get some security though.
They are fantastic cars! Yes my next purchase will be on the security
I have a viper 106v, a tracker, a disklok, a pedal lock, relocated OBD port, a fake obd port and have disabled the boot handle ( still works on the key).
@justincork3838 nice! I currently have the disklok but I’ll probably get the viper 106v next. Do you know how to fit them or where to fit them? I also need to disable the boot too
Mine was done by GAP security who do nationwide installation.
Safe and sound in Essex are highly rated too
@justincork3838 I’ve heard of safe and sound in Essex but that is quite far from me. Does GAP come to you and install it?
How do you feel it compares to the Toyota 86 as a daily?
The Fiesta is much more of a daily. It’s a quieter and more comfortable place to be, it’s got all the power you need, and is relatively practical for a hatchback. The 86 on the other hand, you could definitely daily, but don’t expect to have the same comfort and practicality. It’ll be louder, less comfortable (stiffer suspension setup) and definitely less practical. Looks better and is a RWD car that likes to get its ass out round corners though… so it’s a hell of a lot of fun 🤣
Check his hard drive
🤣
I don't know about his hard drive but I do know that he drives hard.
Just bought a 2014 with 107,000km on it. Is that low enough to get some time out of it?
Definitely 👌🏻 you should get plenty of miles out of it
@@CarCultureClubthanks bro! Loved the vid.
Absolutely loved mine , hated that scumbags smashed the windows trying to nick it !
Ahh I’m sorry that happened to you, my worst nightmare!
Trackershop do nationwide installation on the 106v
Ahh yes I’ve looked at them! Thanks for your help mate
No problem! Got to keep it safe! Also knocked my insurance down, £348 full comp this year
i was gonna buy one last week for 3 grand but i'm 53 and people will talk
Have fun while you can!
Im 40 and have one. Standard looking but fettled to about 245bhp.
Economic. Handles well. Goes well. Fun to drive.
Hated by all. The seats, i find them really uncomfortable. Cant get comfy in them at all.
Really? I find the seats pretty comfortable but I am a rather small individual
Yeah, I'm not big. Average sized. I can't get my lower back comfy. My old focus st had lumbar adjustment. I just find I have to constantly wiggle
@@oliverp4115 Which year do you have? I heard that the seats were changed after a certain year
@@ketz555 nah the seats are all the same for the Mk7. It's the mk8 where they changed during the facelift from recaros to fords own seats.
one ting i will never get is people mocking other ppls cars, thats something they have wored hard for and they love. Like cant ppl just keep opinions to themselves.
Mmmm rollers 😍
With thanks to you ;)
Cant be arsed with a manual 🤷
No one hates the fiesta st- what a silly tag line
But it obviously gets you some clicks
A lot of people hate the Fiesta ST, you’d be surprised
@@CarCultureClub a lot of people dislike the yobbish nature of some owners but that’s not the cars fault
@Shooting-Up no definitely not the cars fault but also people don’t like how they’re modified either. The hate is associated with both the car and the owners
Most hated?? Nah. Even you would hate me and mine. 😁 It is interesting what you say. Mk8 Fiesta ST new became expensive and the Mk4 Focus ST more so and now at £42k+ is for the very well paid working man/woman. There were grumblings in the Ford Community "oh you just bought that thing off the shelf" was quoted at me. Well someone has to buy new don't hate me for it, how else can you buy yours second hand?
2020 from new Orange Fury mk4 Focus ST with the boy racer maxton full bodykit, stickers and badges and the obligatory Mountune M330 (330PS 515NM on the box) remap. In my city I think she is on the whole liked. Never been cut up indeed I am given way to pretty much all the time, I wonder if that is out of respect and a liking or there is anticpation of lunacy on the part of her driver.
I think the "hate" can come from any quarter and be directed at any car and marque, no shortage of reasons.
I hope you enjoy your Fiesta ST, great cars I know them well. Chalk and cheese comapred to the Focus ST esp in mk8 vs Mk4. I could have/would have should have got a mk8 Fiesta ST when they were still available as a second car for the lanes and town. Big regret. Got an ST-Line instead, for a friend.
Look after yours and you won't lose any money on it.
Oh btw I am 59 and three quarters. 🤣
Thanks for your comment! Interesting to hear about your car too. I’ve been having a blast in this car and continue to enjoy it everyday. When it comes to the hate, I think there’s definitely a strong community of people who dislike them and I’ve seen this through various other videos and online platforms. But they’re great cars to drive so I don’t care aha!
@@CarCultureClub They are such great cars to drive there is nothing about the car that can be hated. People don't like it when we drive our cars within the limit, but to them they think we are breaking every rule in the book. Mine looks like its doing a hundred when at 70 simply because of the colour.
You are right, but then I am sure there is for the M and RS product owners too.
Just ignore them, or take them for a drive. 😁
Drives round schools and goes to halfords eh what ?
Wet Belt....no..no
No wet belts on the ST…
@@CarCultureClub
I used to be a Ford guy I still ❤ my Escort and Sierra Cosworths (wish I ACTUALLY owned them lol) but did not know the ST lines didn't have the dreaded wet belts thank god...
👍🤜🏽
@Leehuss5582 Escorts are cool! And yes apparently only the 1 litre Ford engines have the wet belts 😅
The 1.6 st "ecoboost" has it's origins in the old zetec se. It's a fairly solid engine. Definitely no wet belt
@@oliverp4115
Hallelujah!....I was thinking about a Fiesta for my Daughter but thought again after the Wet Belts...what do you recommend as a car person for a new driver has to be small engine but one that's reliable used and not going too be costly
Thank you
👍🤜🏽
