This car has the perfect amount of power for British B Roads, the handling is sensational. I would absolutely recommend the Performance pack for the full experience! I came from a quicker Mini JCW but this is more fun to drive and cheaper to run ! Get one 👊
Good review, I bought the Performance Edition(P.E) in December, following having owned a Mk8 ST-2 performance pack. Even though performance figures from Ford are identical the P.E. is most definitely more spritely than the ST-2, the only thing that this can be put down to is the lowered wheel weight. 8Kg or so wouldn't make a deal of difference on a car weighing ~1250kg , but it's where that weight has been taken from is the key here. Similarly the suspension just makes the car a far more adaptable prospect ie it's got town driving covered, along with super controllability under demanding conditions. The colour is very striking(and would have opted for something else if that had been possible) but has grown on me over the months.....to cut a long waffly post short . Worth it? You betcha! this is the best car I have ever owned by far
@@philhill7973 loads better, come on, it had an exclusivity edge, and some subtle performance gains. Personally I would of liked to see updated brakes, motor mounts, air box, and stage one remap. Most would not appreciate the subtle suspension improvements.
Let's all do our part to contact Ford USA customer service. If all their customers are telling them they want the new Fiesta ST in America, they'll wake up and listen. Thank you for your help in this effort.
Hi guys I have a question , please who could answer, it should What do you prefer in cars between the cars with right wheel steer like in UK or on left like Germany and USA ?
We have driving on the left-hand side of the road since the Romans invaded England 1900 years ago. No one has ever made a sensible complaint. It works well.
The 3 cylinder engine will last until the warranty is up and then you can expect a big repair bill. No way that engine is built for reliability 200bhp for a 3 cylinder 1.5 engine.
Didn’t know you were an expert in Ford Engines. Might you also bear in mind that Mercedes 2L 4 cylinder AMG engine pushes out over 420bhp. But nobody seems to even discuss that.
Modern F1 engines are only 1.6L Turbo'd V6s that produce >1000hp. Granted, extremely expense parts and design. But it shows how far engine technology has come on in recent years.
I own a performance edition st , and I paid £24500 for it , before that I bought a new 18 plate st3 for £23300 . So I must of paid to much for an st3 or the pe was a bargain!!
Considering the price difference I would definitely consider the PE the better deal out of the two, over the long term the Limited Edition cars will always hold their value more than the standard ones. They’re really good cars for the money in my opinion but the limited edition ones will always be special but I think talking 10 years ahead people will see the ST3’s as one of a million if you get what I mean
Anyone watching in North America, please call or write Ford Customer Service. Tell them we want the new Fiesta ST and/or Focus ST in the U.S./Canadian market. If all their customers are telling them, they'll listen and bring us BACK these hot hatches. Thank you for your support in this petition effort!
To be fair there has been no known common problems with these cars as of yet, these can’t be called unreliable when not many issues have been reported 🤷♂️
But I got a 19 reg ST3 with Quaife, sunroof and B&O for £17.5k. Yes it's exdemo - shock horror - with 850 miles on it. But by all means buy brand new and lose £6k in the first year.
339paulh yer but the standard st3s aren’t as good as the performance edition car , i px my 18 plate st3 for a performance edition so I should know sunroof or no sunroof with dull skies. How much has the ST 3 lost in its first year probably more then my car will.
20k really i think i would buy some thing a bit better whit that money that looks a bit more sporty like a old skool ford rs turbo hell yea that's the way to go not the new ugly ass no sporty look eco blow up engine thing
top quality car driving review video magazine professionally produced and presented. Applaud

Alan Beard same here loads better than the standard mk8 st 2and 3 by far.
@@philhill7973 Too true, I looked at 'speccing' up a Mk3 pp with the additional kit :- from what I remember it was similar or even more than the PE

a Fiester
Should have bought more when you had the chance. 👀
At best this is a mild ford. Detuned over priced rubbish.
@@fastfez2520 How?
I paid 24k for a new focus ST3 in 2015. Don't like the recent car price increase
Even when the back steps out when you get a rare bit of understeer 🧐
Yup, I'd like to see that in action
James 😂😂 that's a straight up accident about to happen
Beautiful location! Loved the opener! Another great video!
Thanks Stephen! We certainly didn’t get stuck in that car park...
I remember looking at this when they were taking orders and it was 26k
20k? 33k euros in italy today.
Just being released here in Australia in April 2020 - very tempted but love my Megane RS265
Mk 2 fiesta? Dont you mean the old Mk 7 fiesta? Or Mk 2 aka Mk7 and Mk3 aka Mk 8?🤣
I think he meant the Mk 7 I guess
I think he meant the Fiësta ST2
I think he meant it was the mk2 version of the fiesta ST which would have been the mk7 as there have only been 3 generations of the fiesta ST
@@StefanP742 aaah that makes sense!
I thought I was watching savagegeese with that intro haha.
Your reviews are very good...
We could say the same about your comments, Carlos ;)
Great car, should be 18 grand from new though, car prices have gone stupid in this country.

Love! the wheels the performance edition comes with.
Buy st2 with performance pack, fit kW v3 coilovers and revo map and have a better car for less money and without horrendous orange paint
Jamie Learmonth nothing like and you get what you pay for .
and ruin what warranty you have left with Ford ! Car doesn’t need tinkering with and is quick enough in my opinion in stock
@@philhill7973 you realise the Ford performance coilovers are kW right??
I love the Fiesta ST
At 4:29 - is it "new springs have 20 bump and 16 rebound settings"? Really? Springs have settings? Or.. maybe dampers?
These are 26K 🤷🏻♂️
he does actually say that in the video. maybe wait and watch the whole video next time before commenting
Mark Killen maybe they should make it more obvious instead of a clickbait title 🙅♂️
Fast Fez you can get an st-3 for 17k sooo 🤷🏽♂️

You can get these almost new for 20 grand though

20k for the performance edition😂😂
Your lucky to get the base model without the performance pack for 20k which has no launch control
We do address this in the video...
You're...
I draw my line at 4 cylinders.
Unless it's the Gemera's 3 cylinder.
You obvoiusly have not driven the new ST :)
edmaluf - I'm a bit of a cylinders snob, but trust me this car + engine are superb.
I have this car and i can tell you, you would have never thought this is a 3cyl if i didnt tell you when driving it
As a tuned 2013 ST owner not a bad review.
Glad you enjoyed!
In a few years we will have ONE cylinder engines with 4 turbos, that won't last 4 years without having costly repairs
Keeps saying the Mk2 Fiesta ST! It’s the Mk7 I think you meant! Lol
You raise a good point! But we’re referring to the number of Fiesta ST generations, not Fiesta model as a whole.
CAR Magazine thanks for clearing that up, I get the logic, but I think most people will still refer to the previous ST as Mk6/7.
This is the 3rd st
Shocking that you don't seem to know the difference between dampers/springs and over/understeer.
Current owner of this PE if your interested in a reunion at any point 👍
Thanks for the note! We’ll be in touch if we do :)

This car is also more than £20k by a fair few pennies 🤦♂️
Not if you shop around ;)
CAR Magazine I know times are hard, but what garage is going to be willing to knock 6k+ off a new car ? Pure nonsense.
CAR Magazine not for the performance edition you won’t.
I think they are only building 600 of these and UK only. Doubt you will find much reduction on them
CAR Magazine clueless lol
Love to hear your thoughts on a polo gti. I have one and love it
Where's this pcp that's less than a corsa? Whenever I've looked these have been crazy expensive
All figures are taken from the manufacturer websites.
I know people paying 180£ a month with a 3k deposit and a ST-3
Did he really say RELIABLE? Dude is stuck in 90's or something :D

Buy a 2017 Focus ST the Fiesta ST MK8 is not worth 20k and over or 16k used!
I had a 18 plate Focus ST and no way did ever even drive as good as a Fiesta ST! Well disappointed!
Could you be the next Top Gear presenter?
Naa, got some facts wrong..
No
Maybe when he leaves school
Or, you could spend slightly less and get the arguably better, Renault Clio RS....
Is this the fiesta St or the fiestarrr St !?
