Protopresbyter Thomas Marretta is the newest guest on Tea Time at the Seminary! In this first part of a two-part interview, Father Thomas, who was Ordained to the Priesthood in 1979 by Saint Philaret of New York (1903-1985), recalls some of his memories of Saint Philaret and discusses how he has navigated his life as a Priest for over forty years.
Father Thomas currently serves at Saint Maximus the Confessor Orthodox Church in Owego, New York. He and his wife, Presbytera Ruth Marretta, are the parents of His Grace, Bishop Maximus of Pelagonia, a Visiting Instructor at Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary.
As well as being a Priest, Father Thomas is also known for his ongoing translation of The Great Collection of the Lives of the Saints by Saint Demetrios of Rostov (1651-1709) from Slavonic to English.
