  • The Seminary is excited to reveal Father John Fleser as the next special guest for Tea Time at the Seminary! In this first part of a two-part interview, Father John Fleser, who has been a married priest for over 50 years, discusses some of the struggles of the priesthood and the challenges priests face when taking charge of a parish.
For many years, Father John was the priest for Saint Anna’s Orthodox Church in Roslindale, Massachusetts. He currently serves and attends Saint John the Confessor Orthodox Church in Ipswich, Massachusetts and resides in the state of New Hampshire.
As well as being a priest, Father John is also an author. He has released his book "God Discriminates" to the public. "God Discriminates" is a book that has a compilation of articles written by laity and clergymen with an Orthodox Christian perspective about topics affecting modern society. This book can be found at the Metropolitan Chrysostomos Theological Library at the Seminary.

We are so blessed to have Fr. John in our life. I have known him for 33 years. He has taught us so much about the our holy church. If anyone has any questions about the Orthodox faith, he is the one to know. We have many knowledgeable priests and especially who understand the Orthodox teachings.
Fr. John is a true gift. I thank God for him . I pray God will grant us many years to learn more from him.

This is an excellent offering! This "Sharing" by a "Senior Priest" should be offered to Seminarians and Wives. Opportunities, like this one, are rare, indeed. I will try to share this with those who may benefit from this.
Personally, I love to listen to Our Priests who speak like this...from the Heart!
    Glory to Jesus Christ!

So important to not rush confession, this happens a lot at my church. Sadly, i have to go to a further away church from my place to confess.

I like that he explains things to ignorant people and has the patience...very challenging to do. Thank you Father ❤

Thank you for sharing this video with us. Fr. John has been a spiritual grandfather of sorts for me, and it is wonderful to see him and hear his voice again.

Can someone tell me the name of the manea? I'm trying to find it. It seems it is some sort of service book but I don't know which one.

The Menaion is typically a set of books with the various service parts for the saints and Feasts of the year. Here is the one most of our parishes use.

Menaion. One for each month of the year. Yes, a service book with services for each day of the year according to which saint (s) are celebrated on that day.

The menaion is the service books for every day of the year. (12 volumes, one for each month). Festal menaion would be for the major feasts of the year.

Good but I prefer to make confession with a monastic priest
