  • The Tea Time at the Seminary crew traveled to Europe to bring you this special first part of a two-part interview filmed in Stockholm, Sweden.
Presbyter Alexander Hahr, a convert to the Orthodox Faith from Sweden, is a student at Saint Photios Orthodox Theological Seminary. At the filming of this interview, Father Alexander had just recently been Ordained a Deacon by Metropolitan Kyprianos II of Oropos and Phyle at the Saints Constantine and Helen Orthodox Church in Stockholm. A few days after filming this interview, Father Alexander became the first student from the Seminary to be Ordained a Presbyter.
Father Alexander resides in Stockholm with his wife, Prebytera Nina, and their three children. He hopes to start attending classes at the Seminary in person starting with the Spring Term 2024.
Father Alexander recently wrote a testimonial for the Seminary wherein he emphasized that, "Your contributions have made it possible for seminarians like myself, with families and financial responsibilities, to pursue full-time studies and answer the sacred call to serve the Church."
Your gift plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Church, preparing the next generation of clergymen, teachers, chanters, iconographers, and missionaries. Your investment, especially in the form of educating individuals, goes beyond financial support-it is an investment in the spiritual growth of our Church.
    Thank you for your support!

God bless Father Alexander and his family. May Panagia’s intercessions cover him as he grows in the priesthood.

    Er syster i Kristus, Justina

I'm an American who lives in Europe and just left Anglicanism for Orthodoxy. I must say that compared to the evangelical services I've been to with friends, I am always alert mentally and spiritually during Orthodox services. At evangelical services, I always fall asleep since it does not seem like true worship.

Saint Photios Seminary and team, could you make a content on what is education or being educated in the Orthodox sense? How did the orthodox church fathers educate themselves compared to scholastic/secular academicians?

I know father Alexander personally! One of the kindest people I have ever met! I remember I went to their church for the first time with a lot of sorrow in my heart but ever since attending their services I feel a lot better! Glory to God!

Question! I’ve made a prayer rope out of paracord and I used a regular overhand knot because I couldn’t get the barrel knot right. Does it still count as a prayer rope? I said the Jesus prayer into every one of the knots like your supposed to.
