I just got a crested gecko.... and it's in a homemade wooden tabk.. which is huge. And I have to spray it like 3-4 times a day or the humidity drops down. To about 40.... I dont trust these gauges either. But when I spray the thing down... so it's kinda wetish... it says it goes up to 60-70. Sweet little thing. I love the feel of these guys. They feel like velvet!
Personally, I believe that young crested geckos should be fed a diet of insects being tended more towards fruit as they grow older. I’ve only ever raised one crested gecko, so this is anecdotal evidence, but my crested gecko refused to eat anything but insects up until he hit ~20 grams. He reached 40g within a year, which is a much faster growth rate than a lot of people see!
You might be right! As long as the calcium intake is keeping up with the phosphorus of the insects I don't see why it would be bad. The thing is most breeders don't have the time or money to feed babies only insects.
TikisGeckos I suppose that could be a factor, although I would imagine that feeding holdbacks purely insects would save money in the long run (they’re ready to breed faster) and might result in larger offspring. Maybe you could try it out and publicise your findings!
I really want to get a crested gecko but I did not know anything about them. Your video is the 5th video i have watched and you all give the same tips and tricks. Very helpful Thank you so much.

How often do you clean their cage? I heard that the poop should be scoped out everyday, cleaning the decorations once a week, whipping the water marks once 3-4 days and do a full on cleaning once a month. Is that ok?. Also I don't have a crested gecko yet, but I wanna prepare.
Both are equally fine as a first....gargoyles just get a tad bigger so like. 18 by 18 by 24 is good for a adult gargoyle so their the same just gargoyles are bigger
I've heard a couple people like to add live plants in their created geckos enclosure, but I'm not sure what all would be considered safe for one if I was to do so. Also, would live plants help with humidity levels or would it be best just to go with the fake vines/decor?

Benedicta Agha it’s just the initial cost that is expensive, a couple hundred at least for a full set up with everything you need. After that, your Pangea/repashy will last a couple of months depending on how often and how much you feed. Crickets aren’t expensive and you don’t need to feed them often.
I have a local pet store called Petland.. they rescue reptiles and other animals from shelters that overstock. I got mine from there.. they don’t overstock changes, have healthy looking animals, and offer health guaranteed. I plan getting mine from there.
Crested geckos are very cheap to care for as they require no live food, no heat lamp and their powder food lasts a long time. It’s just the cost of the terrarium and actual gecko which might be an issue for you.
Say I get one, and I have great setup for him, right? He has good food, etc. What if I want to bring him out a few times? Can I let him chill outside his enclosure a couple times a day? Can he be my little pal and chill by me?
War Against Myself it is recommended that you take them out about once a day (as long as it is not in the day bc they are nocturnal) and also as long as the environment is not a drastic change (temperature, humidity, etc)
They need a huge enclosure so just look up the sizes and you will see...if you want a huge enclosure to maintain go for it and they need a BIG water dish so just be mindful of that
I feel really bad. I will rarely handle my baby crested gecko and now it never wants to move and is really scared. I will try to encourage it to jump from hand to hand but, sometimes it will even resist and go away from my hands. Idk if this is healthy or not. Any tips?
What if you have 3 baby geckos in a large enclosure? I have to hunt to find them all the time (good at hiding), one has stuck shedding on it’s foot, how can I help skin fall off? Also, food containers are high so they have to climb to eat, of course I’m sleep when they eat. Should I lower it?
Should I put a light over my enclosure? My house usually stays around 72-73 degrees. Not sure if I should supplement heat? (I dont mean a direct basking light, just something that might bring the local area up a little.
I'll be putting sheet moss patches at the bottom of my tank and on the background, 1 for humidity, 2 for looks because moss is awesome, added bonus is it's like with humans, if you have crap stuck on your shoe, you walk through grass right? Well, it might help with the gecko too. Of course you still have to clean their feets if they don't stick anymore but it could be a little help inbetween. I have no actual facts to back that of course, how would you do that, but logically it makes sense.
in my country reapshy and pangea are way too expensive. how long does it take for a single gecko to consume it ( lets say the smallest version)? can it be stretched by complementing with homemade foods? thanks
I just got a crested gecko, he’s only about 3 inches long. I put him in his enclosure and he stayed in the same position all night till the next morning, is this okay?
So a 12x12x18 is absolutely suitable for an adult ?? I thought it had to be 18x18x24. I’m doing much research to be ready to get a gecko one day and just wanted to make sure b
I don't think so with my research, a 12×12×18 is suitable for a baby gecko, but then once they hit the adult stage, you really need to get them a 18×18×24 with all the research I have done
Ok my mom says I can get a crestie but my dad is terrified of any reptile! But my mom keeps telling me as long as I’m responsible and takes care of it I can but my dad keeps saying no! And I don’t know what to do, I keep try I go explain to him about them but he won’t Liston.
First off i love your username, second , you could always try to show him Some video’s of cute crested gecko’s. That way its like slowly introducing a positive way of thinking about crested gecko’s. And depending on how good your relation with your dad is. You could always start talking to him about facts. Adventually he Will see that just thinking about a crested gecko makes you exited and he might want to push away his fear.
my crested has a good enclosure but like he just doesn't eat in his enclosure he will wait for me to take him out when he's by his food too he won't eat it unless I use a stick or my finger to feed him.
So hey I found your Channel because I was looking 4 something like this so I got a rescue it is an eyelash crested gecko he has definitely got to be full grown I do believe these people had good intent towards the animal to begin with but I believe they bought it for children and nobody seems to know the story of what happened but I have checked into the fact of you know how they drop their tails and all of that and I'm assuming that it was definitely due to either extreme stress or what leads me in the other direction is the poor handling all the rough handling because my geckos also missing a finger now I was wondering if you could tell me about that and give me any possible reasons that this poor animal would also not only have dropped at tail but also be missing a finger they swear that this animal has never been housed with another animal before and then when it was at the daycare ugh!!! it's children we're not allowed to touch it I'm just not sure I believe that entirely was just wondering if you could possibly tell me what would make this poor animal have lost its finger and do you think that the animal will be okay
She'd could be why it lost a finger but as for the tail they could hear thunder and get scared and Lise the tail it drops pretty easy it doesn't mean it was stressed or mistreated just maybe they didn't know how the humidity needed to be but good luck
How do I keep them warm in winter and cool in summer? I live in a place with extreme-ish weather (around ninety to one hundred in the summer and fifteen to twenty in the winter) we do have heating but our house is generally around 60-65 degrees in the winter. In the summer we have our house at whatever temp it is outside. I have an AC in my room but it’s kept in the low sixties. I guess I could set it to a higher temp, so I’m more worried about winter.
I was a little worried about mine, my first one, a Caledonian gecko. He wouldn't take insects but the person who has previously owned him fed him nothing but insects (bad idea). I have a pangea diet with him but whenever I went to feed him crickets, he wouldn't eat them and I even removed him from his terrarium and placed him in a small one with 2 crickets and he still didn't eat.
hi Tiki i just got a crested gecko yesterday and i am very excited because what you may not know is that i live in London and i am 11 years old and if you could make a video responding to my comment i think me and my gecko will be together foe a very long time one more question when should i feed my crested gecko? thanks
x Karma x I got everything under 80 seeing as I already had a tank which is one of the most expensive parts but buying your supplies from Walmart and Amorim was one way I was able to keep such a low budget
overrated321 do NOT use baby food for a gecko or any reptiles. They do not have the necessary nutrients for them. And you dont need a “bug farm” you can buy a small critter keeper and get like a dozen crickets or whatever feeder insect you use for your gecko in it, gutload them (feed them healthy diets and well) then slowly feed the feeder insect to the gecko, crested dont need a bunch of food, they eat like 2/3 times a week and dont eat big portions, mine can eat like 4/5 crickets if she wants but i feed her 2/3 once a week, if you dont want to keep feeder inescts, then just used the gecko diet replacements as their staple diet but it’ll just take longer for them to grow up
I'm very interested in starting to breed. I love these little guys so much, and I want to be able to make a really good lineage! What do you recommend for someone who wants to start breeding. Good sources to look up for breeding, and how should I start up. Not many breeders here in Reno. I haven't found 1!!!
Michelle Khury i would only breed them If you have some crazy Special patterns or something Like that in your animals. There are way too much cresties on the Market and you wont geht rid of them...
Hey David/Hey Guys, i bought an Exo-Terra terrarium for my future crested gecko. I have a problem keeping up humidity though. if i put something over the gaze on top, the humidy stays about 70-80. but over the night, it climbs to about 90%. Is that too high? Won't put him in his terrarium before its perfectly fine.
Neon Shadow do you mean a bearded dragon, or a crested gecko? Because the bearded dragon needs a big tank and expensive lighting because they like the heat. A crested gecko needs a smaller tank but more vertical because they are arboreal and like to climb up. End it depends where you live. You could have lighting if it is warm enough but you do have to spray them once or twice a day to keep it moist. But you can look up more information for either one if you want. But for both of them you need the right care I did a lot of research on both of them but mostly because I love lizards.
Hi! My crested gecko was born last october, i bought him in february (was only 3 grs) and i've been feeding him pangea ever since. He literally eats next to nothing and only because i hand feed him. i tried leaving the cups in the terrarium and they're always the same the next day. the breeder fed him crickets since he was born. do you think it's because of that, that my crestie doesn't eat? he was stuck at 3 grs. and some weeks ago i bought several crickets and he ate them no problem. he's now at 9 grs. do i need to feed him crickets? is that it? is it possible to feed him some kind of worms instead? (i really dislike crickets. and they escaped my exo-terra which was a mess)
If you do feed them worms, make sure to cut off their heads before feeding them to your gecko because they can bite the insides of your crestie and cause internal bleeding. So, I think crickets would be the best choice. Have you tried feeding your gecko the pangea food mix that has insects in It?
i've tried pangea since the start. I think i have every flavour there is, even the breeding formula, and i rotate them every time i feed him. I just can't keep hand feeding him but i'm afraid he'll die. How much are they supposed to eat? i put one small spoon.
I bought my baby crestie and i personally hand feed them with a chopstick🤣 but yeah most of the time I hand feed him and he decides to eat he will. He's perfect on weight to
Awesome vlog! I’m new to the gargoyle gecko game. I have two questions please. First how often do I change the substrate? Also how old or when do I know my gecko is old enough to breed? Thanks and keep the videos coming...
For the substratre you really only need to make sure the enclosure is clean and meets the temp and humidity requirements, If the substrate is clean then you don't need to change it. For breeding it's more about the weight than age. You shouldn't breed a female unless she is at least 35g and this usually takes 2 to 3 years to reach that size. Same for the males. They are physically ready to breed at a lot younger age but everything I have read in the breeding community says that the babies are much healthier when the breeding adults are at least 35g and the survival rate is higher. Also make sure you breed females and males of the relative same weight because the actual breeding is very aggressive. Also before you breed anything do much more reading and research! Hope this helps.
If you need to ask basic questions you shouldn't be getting ahead of yourself and thinking about breeding. Get the proper husbandry down first and make sure your geckos are healthy and thriving before you produce even more and don't know what you're doing. That's a recipe for disaster. Leave breeding to people who have done ample research, have husbandry down and know about genetics. If you don't know about basic care how are you going to handle genetics? You haven't even shown the will to put in the absolute minimal effort of a simple google search that would have answered your questions.

i go my baby crested gecko from a women who was moving and said she got the baby from you. She is eating really well and i love the little baby(her Name is Echo).
I want to get a crested gecko soon and my only option is to get it from Petco or petsmart, if I look for the health issues that you mentioned in this video and don’t see any would that be a safe and good way to pick out the gecko?
I don't suggest getting one from a pet store. By doing that, you support Pet Mills. Most pets from pet stores end up dying or getting sick. If you look online you can find breeders or look for Reptile Expos near you.
I have a crested gecko but she looks very healthy but the only thing I noticed is the her eyes are kinda sunk in. But i give her water and give her food and crickets.
Ugh mine won’t eat at all unless I hand feed him, I’ve only had him for 5 months and he’s about four years old, idk know how he was originally fed but I have to hand feed him lol
Hi, I see everyone handling their geckos on videos, but then go on to say they sleep all day and active only at night. I would like to interact with my gecko should I get one but do sleep at night and work during day so interaction time would be 4 to 8 pm
Somebody can help me?, i bought 3 days ago a crested gecko and he have 8 mounths and only 5 grams... is very small. I ask for his age after i buy it. Who can help me with that?
When I get my crestie, I am getting a lamp to put on the cage in case it gets too cold in my room for some reason, because if it gets cold in your room where the crested gecko is going, you should have a lamp just in case with a low wattage
I actually have 2 observations, more so than actual questions. My crested geckos poo, is more of a watery( soft spatter) consistency than turd like. I mean I've seen both with him, I'm thinking that's normal, cause he's an adult and he's only eatten crickets once for me, he basically just eats his crested gecko diet. My new gargoyle( who'll be a year old in May,), eats crickets and crested gecko diet. His little poo is more turd like, even before I introduced the crickets. They both seem healthy to me. You had said in an earlier video that if the poo was watery they might have parasites or something. Sometimes my crestie poo is a mixture, perhaps it's urine and poo. Like when my Leo's do it.
Yeah the pee comes with the poo so that is not to get confused with when I say diarrhea. As long as you don't see any problems with the gecko, I wouldn't worry
markgloverville from videos/sources I’ve seen they’re both great choices for crested geckos (the best in fact) however it seems that most crested geckos seem to enjoy Pangea more. Both are equal in nutritional value, are around the same price and last around the same amount of time so are both good options
Both Pangea and Repashy are great choices for crested geckos. I would recommend Pangea because I've heard that cresties favor Pangea more than Repashy. Either one would work :D

War Against Myself it is recommended that you take them out about once a day (as long as it is not in the day bc they are nocturnal) and also as long as the environment is not a drastic change (temperature, humidity, etc)
Is a Chinese water dragon a good pet
They need a huge enclosure so just look up the sizes and you will see...if you want a huge enclosure to maintain go for it and they need a BIG water dish so just be mindful of that
I have quite a tall vivarium it’s 95.1cm high and my baby crested gecko loves it he loves to climb up the vines and then jumps to branches
I feel really bad. I will rarely handle my baby crested gecko and now it never wants to move and is really scared. I will try to encourage it to jump from hand to hand but, sometimes it will even resist and go away from my hands. Idk if this is healthy or not. Any tips?
These videos are so helpful! Thank you!! 💕
Luis Taino I personally don’t believe you’ll need one as upper 60’s to lower 80’s is the perfect temp for these guys!
Luis Silva no I believe you should not your temperature may rise to high
I'm getting 2 3oz repashy and 2 2oz pangea, how long will that last?
I'll be putting sheet moss patches at the bottom of my tank and on the background, 1 for humidity, 2 for looks because moss is awesome, added bonus is it's like with humans, if you have crap stuck on your shoe, you walk through grass right? Well, it might help with the gecko too. Of course you still have to clean their feets if they don't stick anymore but it could be a little help inbetween. I have no actual facts to back that of course, how would you do that, but logically it makes sense.
Wanna hear a joke? A dwarf who was also a mystic robbed a steak house and the cops reported a small medium at large
in my country reapshy and pangea are way too expensive. how long does it take for a single gecko to consume it ( lets say the smallest version)? can it be stretched by complementing with homemade foods? thanks
For some weird reason my crested gecko Jeffy loves to lay in his bedding I don’t know why but I think it’s pretty neat
What is the best heat source?
Can you do a paper towel instead of substrate?
My friend has used it for 3 years now on all her geckos and they are all fine
Can you post how you make your tubs thanks!
how many sprays of water do you need for the humidity?
I just got a crested gecko, he’s only about 3 inches long. I put him in his enclosure and he stayed in the same position all night till the next morning, is this okay?
So a 12x12x18 is absolutely suitable for an adult ?? I thought it had to be 18x18x24. I’m doing much research to be ready to get a gecko one day and just wanted to make sure b
Jessyca Green in my opinion 12x12x18 is small for an adult. 18x18x24 is most recommend for adults
A 12×12×18 is recommended for juveniles and an 18x18x24 or a 20gal (I believe they're equivalent) on its side is minimum for adults
I don't think so with my research, a 12×12×18 is suitable for a baby gecko, but then once they hit the adult stage, you really need to get them a 18×18×24 with all the research I have done
12×12×18 is way too small for adult/juvenile crested geckos. Maybe for a baby it would work. You are right, the minimum is 18×18×24
Can u tell me exactly how much calcium I can a crested gecko?
Thanks I just got one, my mom persuaded him that I would take care of it. but my dad still isn’t really talking to me now. My gecko is very happy!
Omg Thank you so so much I was worry why my babys geckos are not eating.
my crested has a good enclosure but like he just doesn't eat in his enclosure he will wait for me to take him out when he's by his food too he won't eat it unless I use a stick or my finger to feed him.
if you can reply to this how big does a enclosure have to be if housing 2 cresties
WolfsWail you can use heated hideouts or a heat lamp, just make sure it’s not too hot
This was so helpful!!! Thank you!
Acurites are sold at home improvement stores and Walmart :)
hi Tiki i just got a crested gecko yesterday and i am very excited because what you may not know is that i live in London and i am 11 years old and if you could make a video responding to my comment i think me and my gecko will be together foe a very long time one more question when should i feed my crested gecko? thanks
I have a 1 year old crested gecko. I want to handle it out of its cage but he runs off.
Just got my 12x12x18 tank today is this fine for a baby Crested
Dom yeah that’s fine but if I were you I’d upgrade to a 18x18x24 once it gets larger cause that’s a bit small for a adult
So how much does everything cost??
They can cost from 40 dollars- 300 dollars
The minimum amount for everything if you're lucky under $200 :D
x Karma x I got everything under 80 seeing as I already had a tank which is one of the most expensive parts but buying your supplies from Walmart and Amorim was one way I was able to keep such a low budget
@@ellieknight267 Oh, really? Everything I have costs like $250 lol.
I, don't want a bug farm for one baby crested, so would he grow p faster if I mix baby food?
overrated321 do NOT use baby food for a gecko or any reptiles.
3PAlienClub Not in Germany :( So if he manages to send them there, he will get rid of them!
Sewa Groznij Well i am from Germany and have 6 hatchlings
3PAlienClub Verkaufst du sie?
Sewa Groznij also bitte kronengeckos gibts in deutschland on mass. ich hab lange für meinen höckerkopfgecko suchen müssen
Should you have a screen top to your tank
Madeline Janes yes, definitely
Hey David/Hey Guys, i bought an Exo-Terra terrarium for my future crested gecko. I have a problem keeping up humidity though. if i put something over the gaze on top, the humidy stays about 70-80. but over the night, it climbs to about 90%. Is that too high? Won't put him in his terrarium before its perfectly fine.
how would i introduce two crested geckos ?????
Great video! Very informative.
What size are your juvenile cresties?
I just got a baby crested gecko 🦎!!! I also have an adult bearded dragon !💖👍🦎💗🤩
ah yes.. another 8 year old
? Idk if that’s a joke or are you being serious lol.
@@Alyssa-yx6vu hey are they expensive like over all for the enclouser, food and etc? Thanks
@@Alyssa-yx6vu i meant the crested gecko idk how expensive it can be
How much are they supposed to eat? i put one small spoon.
love you Tiki!
I bought my baby crestie and i personally hand feed them with a chopstick🤣 but yeah most of the time I hand feed him and he decides to eat he will. He's perfect on weight to
how funny, im literally doing the same thing currently
I would wait until the gargoyles are 45-50 grams before breeding.
2 to 3 years of age
If you need to ask basic questions you shouldn't be getting ahead of yourself and thinking about breeding.
Get the proper husbandry down first and make sure your geckos are healthy and thriving before you produce even more and don't know what you're doing. That's a recipe for disaster. Leave breeding to people who have done ample research, have husbandry down and know about genetics. If you don't know about basic care how are you going to handle genetics? You haven't even shown the will to put in the absolute minimal effort of a simple google search that would have answered your questions.
PewPewCat Wow that post was about two years ago PewPew you’re a little late to the game. You’ve been in a cave or something. But I do appreciate everybody else who is willing to help me and answer questions as part of my research. Thanks for nothing
Is a 8x8x12 good?
Is an 18•18•24 tank good for an adult crested gecko..?? Ik what he said in the video but I just want to make sure
Vicky K yes that’s what’s most recommend for adults
Yep! That's the recommended size for adults.
I found a reputable breeder that sells tailless adult males for roughly $40. Good reviews and good reputation.
what is the breeder called? That description is what I need xD
Pet Lover Toys yeah what breeder?
KenReyUbeSensei C: can you please tell me what Breeder I really want one that is from someone reputable person
At snakes at sunset, they are only males though, sorry I replied late, I just recently turned in notifications for comments and replies
Hi! Im in the middle of this video I done know if u said it but I want to travel with my new gecko lets say that I wanted to spend the night at my sisters would she be ok or would she be stressed like if I used a box fish tank if I put news paper and vines would she be ok thank you !!
I have a 2 year old dalmatian creative, he is very light white and beautiful and weights 33grams and still growing! I want another one but would never breed lol. Does anyone have a breeder that would ship?
how often should I be misting my crested geckos cage??
Elaine Johnson twice a day
Twice a day. I recommend when you wake up and when you go to bed.
I wish I could get one but I’m always really busy and not home a lot 😔
Cam the man vids crested geckos are active at night, and only need food replacements around 3-4 times a week, mine doesn’t take much time at all
i go my baby crested gecko from a women who was moving and said she got the baby from you. She is eating really well and i love the little baby(her Name is Echo).
Thank you
Did you find where you got that humidity temp gauge? Or does anyone have any recommendations on one?
Amazon! just search acu rite thermometer
im getting my own crested gecko in a week or 2
i just got mine two days ago good luck w yours !
Same!!!
Itz MESammy That’s a sign that your leopard gecko is sick, try taking it to the vets
Little Things shes fine now. But i wonder if i could take her to get a yearly checkup. Btw i have a crested gecko.
can you do a video about panther chameleons?
We have done a couple videos on panther chameleons but for sure more are coming.
would a 12×12×18 OK for a juvenile thx love your vids
Paloma Padilla yes
Ugh mine won’t eat at all unless I hand feed him, I’ve only had him for 5 months and he’s about four years old, idk know how he was originally fed but I have to hand feed him lol
Hi, I see everyone handling their geckos on videos, but then go on to say they sleep all day and active only at night. I would like to interact with my gecko should I get one but do sleep at night and work during day so interaction time would be 4 to 8 pm
How often should you feed a crested gecko?
Maggie Luzin once or twice a day?
Once
I've researched lots and you feed them pangea or repashy every other day
Somebody can help me?, i bought 3 days ago a crested gecko and he have 8 mounths and only 5 grams... is very small. I ask for his age after i buy it. Who can help me with that?
Do crested geckos need a heat lamp?
No they thrive at room temp. Sometimes lights aren't even recommended for crested geckos so they won't overheat
When I get my crestie, I am getting a lamp to put on the cage in case it gets too cold in my room for some reason, because if it gets cold in your room where the crested gecko is going, you should have a lamp just in case with a low wattage
It depends on the temperature. Most of the time, no.
How many baby geckos can I keep in one enclosure?
1
Karol nah u c4n k33p b4bi3s t0g3th3r 4s f4r 4s 1 kn0w. l0l
depends on the size of the enclosure.
Only one! Never house geckos together!!
Very informative. Would you recommend repashy over pangea? And why does my crested gecko lose his grip on the glass after I mist his terrarium?
markgloverville from videos/sources I’ve seen they’re both great choices for crested geckos (the best in fact) however it seems that most crested geckos seem to enjoy Pangea more. Both are equal in nutritional value, are around the same price and last around the same amount of time so are both good options
Both Pangea and Repashy are great choices for crested geckos. I would recommend Pangea because I've heard that cresties favor Pangea more than Repashy. Either one would work :D
