Petra... when bromiliads have babies, the mother plant dies. Also when leaves turn yellow, it means over watering or too much moisture, not too much light. Just a few plant tips for you! ❤❤❤

@ashton6612 The mother usually gets brown and shrivels, and you trim it out close to the base... but if it still looks healthy, there is no harm in leaving her there. You can dig and move the babies if you'd like.

You said that there is ventilation. I think as a plant mom, id put a big fan on the green. Cross ventilation or air supply. Love the placement of the monstera and bromeliad. This was such a soothing video to watch. In Croatia, what are your greenhouses, plant stores and garden like? Tell me more! With love from Maine mommy MJ and Elayne
Love how this monster junglearium is coming together Petko! Wanted to give a tip, since you have so many enclosures with plants in the den. You could take propagations from plants within your enclosures to help fill the vivarium without having to buy more plants. Plus that will get some trimming down if you have an overgrown enclosures. I do this a lot with my pothos plants I have in enclosures, and have so many individual plants now I can use in other enclosures. Can’t wait for the next junglearium video!
Very beautiful, I can't wait to watch the mini ecosystem unfold as you add creatures and critters. But even if you didn't add anything to it, it would have to be one of the biggest and prettiest terrariums built 😍
That leaf that broke off. You can try to get it to root as a cutting. Put it in water hopefully it will develop roots. You can cut leaves and root them the same way then you can put them else ware. Possibly find some flowering plants to add. It's looking great. Awesome work.
The biggest on The RUclips. I enjoy the occasional lil idiosyncrasies in episodes. I'm NOT laughing at you or your speach at all. I enjoy every aspect, even those tiny little things. And the tiny little critters too. Thanks for another and WELL DONE Dude!
I feel like you have the right amount of plants and shouldn't add anymore. As the plants grow and spread they should fill up the enclosure. Looks awesome and I am excited to see the progress!
I have tbh when you first started the junglarium and you were building the staircase thingy I didn't think it would turn out this nice, it really looks amazing now. Btw you shouldn't worry too much about the postion of the plants you can always relocate them if needed
It's definetly coming together really good. Don't overdo the planting, because when the get bigger it will be chaos. Ihope the wood where the drainage hole is in won't get hurt by all that water... Also, i think there are actually some other projects on RUclips that are bigger but nevertheless the junglearium is huge ;) And yes, the pain of waiting to get animals in there is real, hahaha
Been watching this come together, and it's looking very nice! Most of the plants are thriving. Just can't wait until we see the animals added. Keep up the great work!

Im hoping you find a clutch of isopods hiding out somewhere safe in the foliage. They might have all congregated in some comfort zone (probably near the water feature)
I LIVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS MASTERPIECE U CREATED ❤ I got a Question: What is this spreating plant on the Background wirh teeny tiny leaves which can be seen around 16:47 on the right next to the plant hes Showing?
To be completely honest I'm more interested in the build and the progress of the actual enclosure yea I'm excited for the animals but I've learned so much from you so that's why the actual build and progression of the actual enclosure is what is more exciting to me
The plants are probably readjusting to their new places. Many plants and especially flowers become stunted when you replant them somewhere different. Just like animals becoming stressed when you travel with them for long distances.
The plant you had to cut the leafs from + the other plants that look unhealthy could be a Thrips infestation instead of a lighting problem. (Brown spots, holes in leafs, yellowing, ...) These insects are very small and hard to detect, but can do a lot of damage. I'm currently fighting my own war with these atm. Good luck!
Think something like that to. Or its lack of nitrate if its larger spot of the leaf's, but if he had them bugs earlier it most likely them that cause the spots. Hard to get rid of this tiny bugs. Only take some to survive or eggs and they will be back. probably need to take the whole plant out and some dirt around the plant, when first see them bugs. Should grow each new plants separately for 2-3weeks, before put them in along other. To make shore they are healthy. And treat them with some kind of somewhat friendly pesticid first week of those 2-3week. Let the pesticide go away before put the plant in there. so it don't damage or hurt animal inside there. There are some good handheld USB microscope or regular microscope that wont need a computer. That can be good to have to spot them and see what it is.
The bugs can even get transfer to other enclosure. If not clean hands and arms good when go between enclosure's. plant growers worst nightmare, Thrips and them Spider Mites.
Big advice for the plants: Spider plant! (Scientific name: Chlorophytum comosum) It grows like weed, stores a lot of water in its fleshy roots, and do well in ANY light setting. You just cannot kill it. And it spreads like crazy once it blooms. It grows a lot of pups fro. Its flower stalk. You'll have to trim the flower stalks though, otherwise it will become a hell of a mess... 😅
I don't have a green thumb, so no idea, but I wonder if orchids would survive in your junglearium to add a bit of colour? also perhaps a fiddlehead fern as then you can eat the fiddleheads. It would be interesting as well to have some carnivorous plants, since you could have feeding videos for them.
The one thing I like about watching Petko is that not everything goes perfectly. He drops things, he makes mistakes, things break, things escape, he gets distracted. It makes him so relatable.

It could be useful to use a light meter to get an idea of how powerful your lights are in different spots of the enclosure to help you get an idea of what plants to put where. I just use an app on my phone myself. Also, predatory mites are a possible solution to pest infestations if you get another outbreak (which I imagine is highly likely in an enclosure of this size with lots of plants), though you might have to restock your springtail population after the pests are gone.
No actually the Micans will do great in the indirect light under the begonia, their leaves will bleach really easily in bright light, so if you want the dark velvet leaves, less light is fine
Hello dear Dark Den! I want to give you a few tips about the isopods. First of all: I've been breeding Isopods for about 8 years, in many different setups, because I just want to learn a lot about these animals. Unfortunately, the isopods you added were already dead when you added them. The different species of isopods you had were very active. They explore the whole setup before deciding where to stay. That's why the spiders were able to capture a lot of isopods. The spiders themselves have been the smallest problem, the size of the terrarium is the problem. A small group of a single species of isopods must be at least 50+ individuals for the size of your terrarium. Otherwise the animals will not have a chance to implement in this setup. The problem here would have been that they would have eaten your plants and the moss immediately. So the question is how do you add these little cuties without them nibbling at your plants or dying due to the setup being too big... (they like to eat the roots of plants) There is one species which is very resistant to almost anything. The species is called "Porcellio laevis". These are available in many different colors and patterns. You can merge different colors with no problem and they multiply very well too!! In addition, this is the largest isopod species in existenten you can keep and buy. They mainly eat dead leaves and like to eat dead wood. So if you mix this into the soil, it will easily last for 2-3 years without having to mix in new leaves or dead wood. Since the isopods already have natural enemies (the orb spiders that are inside right now) they can't multiply too quickly either. So you can easily add a group of 30-35 animals IN ONE PLACE without them dying quickly. And the good thing is, because they reproduce so quickly, they're very inexpensive to get almost anywhere in the world. Very warm and happy greetings from Germany!
i remember seeing someone making a somewhat similar tank for their hermit crabs with a large land area and basically just an aquarium put into there with the intention of it being big enough to put some marine hermits in i was interested in doing something similar for mine and asked him about how it was going turns out the land crabs kept dumping substrate into the marine section and it would mess up the water quality super quick im not sure what youre planning to put in the entire enclosure or the actual aquarium but yea i can see the water section getting substrate pretty easily dumped into there and end up blocking the filter and destroying the water quality that section close to the water area might be really cool to put some carnivorous plants in there
The tall plant in the middle with the large leaves, not sure of the name but it looks similar to a begonia which can be Propagated. So if you do cut it down, you can replant the trimming and it will grow another plant.
Can you tell me please, what is the name of the plant that you just place on the background? Thank you for your videos! Lots of good information and entertaining
cannot wait to see the first animals get in there but I have to ask as I haven't seen you mention it (you might have but i forgot) but how do you heat the entire enclosure? its a large space so if it gets cold in winter anything living would obviously struggle without it so I am a little curious, also would you ever put carnivorous plants? even just pitchers and sun dews and no fly traps it would look really cool
Those begonias may turn out to be problematic. They do get large, and they will also easily spread through seeds. I've actually had them become a bit of a weed in my greenhouses.

Only if you cut it below a node. It won't have the cells to produce roots if there isn't a node.

Yeah, plant the plants just as planned!

If you believe/see that a plant doesn't thrive where it is planted you should replant it somewhere else with more or less light or humidity.
Rest the filter bucket on cat litter it will soak up any leaks and put a water alarm under the cat litter
