    Working on the Ford will bring back memories. When I was a teenager I would go visit and help my old neighbor. He was doing a rebuild on the flathead for his 53 pickup. How the years have flown by and now I own some of his stuff. If my memory serves me correctly he visited Australia when he was in his seventies and now I’m coming to visit and get to help on a Ford flathead. Makes me think about life and how fortunate I’ve been. See you next weekend!

    Good Score Steve. I love that 55 Ford Mainline Ute. I'd drive that every day. We only had those in the states for a little more then a decade. They keep talking about bringing them back. Bob Lutz when he was at GM in the early 2000s brought your Holden Monaros up and badged them as GTOs. The purist hated them. I loved them ! They were over 400hp and fast as hell ! I still want one. Cheers Mate ! 🍺🤛😎👍p.s. what do ya call those lizards ? That little dude was cool.

    Well that Renault was a surprise! Thought you might have a battle on your hands, and need to yell "merde!" about 100 times, while smokin Gitanes cigarettes and wavin yer arms around, to get it going. I was dead wrong - She ran like a champ! Like the '46 Ford pickup too. Glad to see you fellas eatin yer vegetables - barley, anyway. 8^) Yeah those flatheads are not lightweights. If I'm not mistaken, that second one you loaded , the '54 as the young fella said, may be out of a Lincoln or a Mercury, lookin at the exhaust layout. Beautiful KW you rode in for the trip. The whistle of power! Liked the lathe and bikes in the shop too. The 327 is one of Generous Motors' finest - one of my faves - but you might need wheelie bars on the Chev C15 Blitz truck with that engine. Great episode Steve, really enjoyed it!

    • @stevesplacedownunder
      @stevesplacedownunder  Год назад +1

      The Renault did and didn’t surprise me mate. If you knew the bloke Steve where it come from, then you’d understand. Very brainy bloke when it comes to old stuff like that, bikes, saws, car’s tractors or anything old it wasn’t a problem to him.
      The 54 flathead I think you are right, it has EAC heads on it which were the higher compression/performance ones which were Mercury from my research. That are apparently sort after by hot rod blokes and other old racers that use them.
      327 are great engines and it had to come home with us. The Blitz is only a thought, we were going to use a Holden v8 I have but this would suit more. I have a chev blitz that hasn’t made the channel yet, I still have to pick it up.
      Kenworth was a pleasure to drive. Comfortable and powerful that’s for sure

    Cold sandwiches, fair dinkum that is some funny stuff. Love the content mate of you breathing life back into old beasts. king brown video was just pure hilarity. In the Philippines, we found Lord browns. Red horse beer. 1 L of 8%, don’t get a few of those under your belt. One minute you’ll be swinging from a chandelier in a Gentlemans establishment and next minute you’re disorientated in a park.

      Thanks for watching mate. Always good to see a new comment. I love getting these old beasts going again. I have a close mate that goes there fairly regularly and he was telling me about the Red Horse. One particular bar he said they are free after the first 6 bottles, but he can only get to 6 and he’s gone😆. Geez that’s strong beer. I’d have a go but I’m certainly no exception to being able to handle too much. 6 would certainly pull me up hard. Even 6 of our kingys at 4.9% I’d be more than done I’d say. Great stuff mate
