- Oftet requested guide on how to surround your settlement using concrete, similar to how I did sanctuary. Alongside this I've been playing around with ideas for turret stands that I wanted to show you.

whenever I watch your videos, I cry. that turret stand had more detail than my whole sanctuary settlement ._.
Lol
After finding your videos I've spent about a day of playtime going back and sorting out my settlements to look nicer, and boy does it make the game more enjoyable and immersive! Thanks for them!
Mother of god, I can't wait to see what you do with mods. I have 100s (1000s?) of new objects to play with on XBone. On one hand I think the mods remove some of the need for creativity. On the other hand, SO MUCH more is now possible.
am i the only one who loves having norespawns play in the background while i am gaming? his voice is nice and his jokes are witty and its easy to just loop his videos and game
What kind of absolute madman gives a video like this a thumbs down?
Seriously, I don't know where you come up with this stuff, but it's awesome.
I always do those concrete walls at my settlements. I know with enemy spawn points they are unnecessary, but I like the fortress look of it.
Thank you! I've been wanting to a put a concrete wall around County Crossing, since it's so close to a ghoul infestation. What I like to do with my concrete walls is put a platform around the edges with various guard posts and usually connect it to my armory. Love your tutorials and builds!
Havent played fallout in forever but your videos are getting me back into it
Thank you for videos like this!! Watching your channel has made my settlement building experience tremendously more enjoyable.

I love using the box car secitom to with the guard platform it looks so good together imo. You can make a raised defense wall and a lower wall too.
Oh, yes, love those little turret stands. I could just decorate the crap out of them, lol :)
I make these concrete towers with my concrete walls which at sanctuary look like the ones you just made. You did teach me about the concrete window and concrete mesh fit to make a kinda screen. My towers have spot lights and turrets with one open room inside.
I've reinstalled FO4 just recently and now i've got concrete walls around sunshine tidings and abernathy farm so far. They get up to 3 storys high in some areas because of the uneven ground 😆 In sunshine tidings i integrated garage gates before i realized that i need to be an actual rocket scientist to make them open from both sides. At abernathy farm i just used the junk fence gates. I attached scaffolding structures to the walls to create a walkway around the inner wall, guard towers and turret stands. The structures attach at 3/4 hight of the concrete wall element which is the perfect height for a walkway, so you can walk around on the inner side of the wall and observe the perimeter. For the turret platforms i just attached a second story scaffolding platform above the walkway, so the guards can walk beneath them when they patrol on the walkway, which they actually do when they travel from one guard post to another. In sunshine tidings i made a wathtower out of the big silo with a scsffolding staircase. That makes the places look like heavily guarded military bases, which looks pretty cool when you aproach the settlement, but i had to use mods to refill my resources several times and to double my size limit.
Love your videos man, you're like the Bob Ross of Fallout 4 settlement videos.
You can only get higher mk turrets the further south down the commonwealth. So u can only get mk 1s at sanctuary but the castle is mk1-6
nice designs! will definitely be using these tips and tricks for my future settlement builds lol.
Thanks for these brilliant settlement refinement tips. Cheerz
For turrets I use your old idea for the junk fence only use concrete walls instead. Delete the small floor piece and with either concrete columns or the small walls make the stand. Advantage to this is the concrete will move into the base of the turrets, better with the round base turret. Result looks like the turret was placed into wet concrete which then set plus of course the whole thing is height adjustable. Luv concrete.
With the Metal Guard on top of the Wall, you can place the Small ones in the Larger ones, makes it look a bit more secure.
Place Everywhere; you need that mod, it will make your life so much easier. Not sure if it is on Bethesda yet or not, but I have been using it for a few months and wouldn't bother building if I didn't have it. I did notice it was on a wishlist recently.
Hmm this wall technique will definitely come in handy for my Oberland Station build
That toilet was great :D Now it's finally a safe place to relax!
bit confused Davey, what buttons did you say you used on the PS4? I tried holding X and using L3, but that just moved it back and forth. R3 moved it up and down but it also moved it from side to side.
Ross Chapman its l2 not l3
Brenthe Valckenier thanks, got it to work now!
No problem ;)
Thanks your video help me a lot, the outhouse idea was awesome
Good stuff as usual chief, Im always looking for more ways to throw up defences
VOMIT AT YOUR ENEMIES
I'm trying to place Mk 5 turrets by cycling like that but all I get are Mk 1. Does it work for any settlement?
Thanks.
CursedMonkey I know this is late but no, the further south you get the higher the turret levels that are available at your settlement, I believe Sanctuary only has MK1, but settlements further South have more options; for example Spectacle Island has ALL turrets available.
LinkinLover but how can i have a MK I or MK V?
(I know this is an old video) but how do you raise it (like with the X and L2 buttons) on pc?
So, I try to raise Walls and Fences with the "Hold X, L1 and Up/Down" bit. But whenever I release X is just snaps back to where it was to begin with, either that or I cant get things to sink into the ground to begin with. It just seems anything that isn't a Concrete Wall piece refuses to sink.
Thanks Davie, I needed a new wall design. I absolutely love the Covenant wall design but I hate having to deal with the size of the settlement and the turrets who never go away. Are there any other medium sized settlements that are roughly square that you'd recommend I do this at? I'm looking at making a caravan business and I need a hub for it. Thanks again!
Greentop is completely square and would suit - plus the slog too is another good candidate.
I'll see what I can do with them. I usually ignore The Slog, it just seems like a nuisance to me, but I'll put my bias aside and see if I can work with it, draw inspiration from your builds. Thank you Davie.
I saw you talking about this on Twitter!
is that "hold X and L2" a feature on the XBOX ONE edition? obviously with different keys.
I think I know an easier way to do what you're doing at around 10:00.
First, connect a foundation to the small floor tile. Then raise the foundation to the appropriate height, and connect the second small floor tile to that raised foundation.
how do you get the concrete walls? I ve started fallout about a month ago, and I'm still clueless to how I do get some stuff.
wasteland workshop dlc.
Jorge de figueiredo dlcs
you really get me bro, this is just perfect for me :)
Think you'll be doing a build session with some of the new mods when they come to PS4l? I'd love to see you make use of some of the new console mods
+Tom Boath that's definitely going to happen
Could you do a concrete version of your Big Junk fences you used round your big Sanctuary, as they can stack on top of each other ?
nah as it wouldn't be an interesting video - literally what you just described; stack the walls on top of each other.
Ok thanks for replying though
Hey Davey will you be able to do a tutorial on how to set up an Artillery?
In small areas the concrete walls look great when doubled up with a single platform in between.
NPC seem to go out of their way to get stuck in those types of walls
How do you get the concrete walls
I know this is an old video but if you want that crate back that sunk in the ground. Just put a pillar close to it and pillar glitch it back out.
Which settlement is that? looks like an interesting place to build
+TUBBS006 county crossing
+norespawns Ok thanks mate, appreciate the reply.
When u get mods on the PS 4, could u Dona separate series where it's building with mods? I like yer creativity with just the base vanilla game items
How do you do the pillar glitch?
Hey davey
Can you build up the mechanist lair, i am really looking for ideas to that settlement.
+jaller698 yeah when mods drop for ps4
Are these modded building supplies
davey, are you gonna do the mechanists lair?
+skuldug1 yeah when mods drop for ps4 - airport too

God I wanna slap the toupee off him.
+TheAmbitiousFish MAKE THE COMMENWELTH GREAT AGAIN XD
Fly in the ointment I love that 😂
Is the concrete wall part of dlc?
yeah, the second one called Wasteland Workshop. it's pretty cheap and definitely worth it if you're into building a lot
I built walls just like that but for some reason they keep disappearing
use the concrete pillars with the concrete walls to make it look more organic you can check out my build star light drive to see what i mean
that's a nice build!!
Hey!
Can you do a growhouse when cannabis commonwealth comes out on console platforms?
Best regards
MudRap
It won't likely come out. Common sense dictates Bethesda will smite it.
+Grant Madsen Its legal in my state...
*****
Its frowned upon in most states, just because your state has legalized it doesn't mean they will release anything, the bethesda.net mods TOS doesn't consent to drug related items.
+Grant Madsen In the game you literally have the ability to craft drugs, fantasy drugs, but drugs...

I don't make the rules, look at the terms of service and you'll see, sorry mate, no 420 for you.
Davey are you watching the Euro Cup at all?
heh no - not a sports person in the slightest. Though I do approve of all of the cheap drinks they have around this time. So I'm cool with it :)
+norespawns lol same all my mates went out to drink and watch England v Russia and I'm like meh sports but I approve of cheap alcohol
Can someone tell me what the up and down buttons are.
On console you hold down the A/X button and the LB / L1 and then move the object up and down
and for PC?
I always saw the options but I didn't know how to access it. 😅
Oh Davey, those walls could be so much more in depth.
Oh come on, I don't have that much concrete. Plus without barbed wire enemies will just vault it...Otherwise I'd just put Barn walls over settlements, they are tall as hell ans till snap alright.
You really give good tips but keep forgetting what videos you give the tips in
I hate concrete walls and junk fences,
I'll try the tip with the concrete next time I'm on game
Thank
Harry Potter and The Simple Concrete Settlement Walls... best. movie. ever!
drunk davey yay!
Speaking of toilets, I never have any bathrooms in my settlements. Maybe a tutorial?
Place an outhouse down, congratulations, you've got a toliet.
haha I should be revising!
For turrets: the best look is putting them behind powered doors with a switch. Check my channel for large barge ultimate player home. Over 10k concrete used to build the bunker!
Perfect for making a prison settlement.
I wish they included half height concrete walls.
+VATROU you can just lower them into the ground - boom! Half height walls.
norespawns You say that, but sometimes I just built a structure and wished that I had some walls just a tad higher. Either for added protection or because I made it to weird.
this wall will make Donald trumpt jelous.
*jealous
