- Looking for a really good vegan black bean burger? Actual Veggies is a brand of vegan burgers I found at my local Fred Meyer (Kroger). They have 4 types to choose from and this is my review of their BLACK burger.. They are oil-free, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, non-GMO, and of course 100% Vegan.

We tried the Purple last night air fried and they were great!
I did not know about these. No Evil sausage is also worth reviewing. They are also very low in fat.
I just tried it, it’s really good. I added Colby Jack Pepper Jack cheese on top. It was delicious!!
I really liked these too - I sauté up a bunch of onions, add pickle and mustard. I like to steam the bun with a lid…SO good!
Great idea, this product! Cut 'em in strips after they're cooked, put 'em in a taco too. Super product for those of us who don't like to cook every day.
I bought some today based on the review. It will be nice to have for something easy sometimes. Bought the green ones too. Fingers crossed I like them!

Awesome, Chuck! Reviews on healthy plant based. vegan products are greatly needed. I'll definitely try the Black Burger. You might want to review the Morningstar Farms Sausage Patties. They aren't exactly healthy, but they only have 3 grams of fat and no saturated fat. Dr. Ornish recommends them in his book "Undo It". XOXOXO
I like the MSF sausage patties. I’ve been eating them since they first came on the market, decades ago. I used to make a breakfast sandwich with a pattie and a mini bagel.

We have tried all their varieties and absolutely LOVE THEM! The green burger is our favorite.
It's still healthier than a fried in oil actual meat! I aim for healthiest and homemade. But in a pinch, healthier still beats fast food!

They don't have them anywhere near me. Online the burgers are $59.99 for 8 burgers. They sound really good but $12.50 for a burger is too expensive for me. They are not in a bag. They have breakfast burgers, however, that are 77g as opposed to the regular burgers that are 113g. The smaller breakfast burgers are $39.99 for 12. They come in a bag. Also the packages online say to cook from frozen. \O/

I agree! Great review! For a convenience food they are basically healthy! Great transitional food or just good if you have no time! I need to have a BNV recipe week. You have many recipes that are good and basically easy. Thanks for all you do to promote a healthier way of eating/living!

I got some this morning at our Hy-Vee grocery store. They were in a package of 2 for $6.99. I just put it on a 100% whole wheat bun with some BBQ sauce. I do like them, they are nice and firm and don't fall apart like some other burgers. Thanks for the review Chuck! I appreciate your product reviews (food and kitchen appliances) - keep them coming!

Thank you for sharing. I'll try them and have on hand for a great, quick meal. You can add a salad, baked potato or applesauce.
Those look so good and so much better for you then Impossible burger or Beyond meat. I just checked for my area. Not here yet. But i will keep an eye out. They do have then at a store about an hour from me. So excited to try these.
I would buy these for an occasional weekend night when I don't feel like cooking from scratch. I don't have a Kroger near me, but my Wegmans has them in a smaller package of two which unfortunately, makes them more expensive.

I have tried the Actual Veggies Green Burger and I found them to be very tasty.
Great review! I hate to buy something new and find out it tastes bad. This is very helpful. My husband and I will try this. He is the hamburger critic so I will let you know his opinion!
We tried them and found them to be very good. My picky eater husband gave them a 4 out of 5 which is the highest any vegi burger has received! We especially liked that it did not fall apart. They are worth a try!

I just tried a new veggie burger called No Bull. I tried both the original and mushroom flavor. They contained all great ingredients, no oil, gluten free, no preservatives. I cooked them in different ways but they did not taste good. I was so disappointed because it’s hard to find an oil free veggie burger. I will stick to making my own.
This looks better than the alternative meat burgers
If they weren't 17 bucks for a pack, I'd try them. But I can't get over the price, way too expensive for 6 patties.
