Hi from South Africa. I can attest to Ashwaganda... been taking it for 5 years now and it's amazing. It immediately energises me and definitely helps with lowering cortisol as I feel more relaxed. I recommend to everyone I meet. My son who is building muscles also attests to it.

I've been on Ashwaganda for the past 15 years, I'm 73 now. I can tell the difference when I run out of it. I sleep so much better when I use it. I buy it powdered at Grocery Outlet and take a spoonful before bed. Not very scientific but it works for me. My ayurvedic Doctor also prescribed Shatavari, he said Ashwaganda has Male energy, Shatavari has female energy.
BTW, nice pot plant in that one clip..🤣

Great find on Ashwagandha with regards to VO2 max and it can be great for women who are post-menopausal due to increase in hormones.
Just be careful of long term effects eg emotional numbing and feelings of anhedonia due to suppression of dopamine receptors in the brain (as mentioned by another commentor who said she can't take it because she feels "flat"). It's also not for people who have hyperthyroidism as it can exacerbate it. Ashwagandha if used in excess stimulates a reduction in GSH levels, which can actually lead to cytotoxicity and may explain certain cases of liver damage.
I personally can't take more than about 300mg because higher doses tend to result in comedones when I take it (it will increase androgen levels). Right now I'm not taking any as I have no sleep issues. I just take rhodiola rosea, Ashwagandha's sister adaptogenic compound in the morning for better energy while decreasing cortisol levels.

My body rejects ashwaganda. The first time, I had uncontrollable diarrhea--literally pooping my pants (which had never happened before aside from in infancy). The second time, I was ill for a week in bed with nausea and with zero interest in food. Notably, my poop was gray. This is a sign of gallbladder issues. Scanning the web, I found there are others who encountered issues with this herb. So try it but know it's not for everybody.

You dont know how incedible your timing of this video is for me.
I started early menopause, and asked the endocrinologist if there was a natural way to deliver hormones without the estrogen medication. I have a very strong family history on both sides, of breast cancer, including deaths and total mastectomies. I know the artificial hormone replacement increases risk for cancer, so i really wanted wanted to avoid them.. he basically said it takes too long and is a bit hit and miss. So i didn't think about it any more, until today. Ive been feeling sick from the estrogen patches, and take them off for half a day, which is obviously not optimal for correct dosing. So i started thinking i need to Investigate the natural methods more deeply..
And wham! Like magic, Doctor Rajani comes along with my possible answer 🙏❤️🕊️

You might be wise to find a naturopathic or integrative physician, or a similar practitioner. Traditional general practitioner receive no training in herbal medication, and they take very, very little training in how food affects the body. They are primarily trained to prescribe chemical medicines to alleviate symptoms. Sometimes the insurance companies won't pay these doctors, so you may have yo pay out of your own pocket. My experience has shown me that the doctors I mentioned are beneficial if you can afford them.

I have good energy. I take it at 8:00 pm does anyone have another suggestion to the hour I take it? Shall the other vitamins (zinc and d vitamin) be taken at the same hour as the ashwaghanda?

One disappointing aspect about science -- it discriminates. In this case, I'm glad researchers are /finally/ engaging in an acceleration of needed-research because millenials are asking. However, my mom's generation and gen x-ers like myself -- have had our own questions about ashwagandha and other natural supplements ignored despite interest in natural supplements for such a long period. It is the same for menopause, too. What a shame all the other generations get discriminated but hey, glad millenials are helping to get such needed results. Few mainstream physicians such as Dr. Rajani already began incorporating this knowledge but likely because such doctors keep abreast of literature and research, and delve into these important areas

I am Post menopausal, this is something I will add to my Health Care Routine. My anxiety came back when I was Peri-Menopausal and have been taking Cymbalta for many years. I have another questions about HRT. I have done the Pellet before for just Testosterone, however I was concerned about not having any Estrogen since you mentioned it is important for looking better due to low Estrogen and Aging. What is your opinion on Balancing Both? Also, My Dr. OB/GYN wanted to give me a Vaginal Estrogen Cream and I was concerned it would affect my husband.

There are estrogen creams that you can apply to the thin skin areas of your body like the insides of your arms & legs, the back of your knees, your neck & face. The hormone in the cream usually takes a short period of time to be absorbed so ask your doctor if alternate application sites is an option for you.

Couple of things. Vaginal estrogen cream is used for treatment of thinning vaginal wall and subsequent pain associated. You usually start using it nightly for a couple of weeks then reduce down to 2 or 3x a week (depending on doc's recommendations). After the initial dosing you should be alright on the "off days". BTW< when I "graduated" from health insurance from work to Medicare with a Medigap policy the cream price went from $15 a tube to $125!!! As for the all over effect of using estrogen, you would want to use a transdermal compounded bioidentical estrogen/progesterone/testosterone on inner arms or thighs after testing for your levels thru saliva testing or Dutch test by your knowledgeable medical professional. BTW, I personally cannot take Ashwaganda. It makes me feel really unwell.

Is there any truth to this? I know a lot of people were taking lots of Zinc and C during COVID. I thought it used to prevent prostate cancer not contribute to getting it!

When I contacted the mfr to ask why, they never responded. A google search revealed ashwagandha does cause dizziness in some people.
