    I worked at Wells of Mayfair around 1986 and remember admiring a beautiful three piece grey flannel suit, that was on a rack of just cleaned suits. When I looked inside at its unique info label, it stated that the suit was made in 1965. Superior material, superior cloth pattern cutters and being made to measure, gives you supreme apparel. In 1986, their cheapest 2 piece suit was 552GBP. A great company.

    You showed just a glimpse of a Katharine Hepburn pattern, but I wish you'd included her in the Huntsman suits she wore. She had all her men's suits made by Huntsman - suits, that is, that she herself wore.

    I am surprised someone has not come up with an MRI-type machine that can take virtual measurements and then send them directly to the tailor. I would not want to go this route as I think the best part of the experience is the interaction with the tailors and cutters but I think that someone could pioneer this and greatly expand bespoke clothing.

    'Size would be an issue'. Exactly what i was thinking. What that man was saying was ridiculous. A portly old man passing his suit to a son, still with an athletic physique. If its one size fits all, thats not quality.

    • @Yimello
      @Yimello 5 месяцев назад +2

      It’s not always the look (although there are noticeable differences with bespoke suits), it’s the feel. A bespoke suit fits you perfectly, better than any off the rack or even tailored suit could ever do. For very wealthy people, it’s worth the extra money.
