Eddie is the true definition of the word 'gentlemen". His politeness, kindness, and demeanor is something that this world desperately needs more of. My hat's off to you sir.
Kirby is a great presenter, but Eddie, he is the chivalry and politeness wearing suit. What a lovely energy he transmits. Kirby, I hope you make Eddie a co-host in the channel and have him hosting some relaxed chat with guests over a cigar.
Agreed. I find his dress style interesting. A lovely suit but those trousers! I used to buy made to measure and my tailor always said the trousers should kiss the shoes not cover them. The matter of turnups is more controversial. I think it was Edward VI who said that city trousers should never have turn ups. I disagree and loved generous turnups but the overall length of the trousers must still just the kiss the shoe
I don't smoke at all, definitely don't live the lifestyle these two are accustomed to either, but Sahakian is a class act all the way, love watching him.
@@Enes-wj5xq I use him to fall asleep. Aside from the occasional apparent social anxiety, he has almost no personality. Dont spend your whole lives trying to impress your fathers, gentlemen. Go, live.
This is a channel I can feel at ease with. In a world which is becoming increasingly chaotic, crass and vulgar, I long for a calmer, more polite and civilised way. This is how people should conduct themselves. Polite, respectful, articulate and intelligent. Unfortunately it is marginalised, as society so often now seeks to accommodate the lowest common denominator, instead of instilling values and insisting that standards are improved. It takes effort and discipline to hold yourself to higher standards, which is perhaps why so many take the easier option. Keep up the good work Kirby, your channel is a welcome oasis on here.
I could watch this all day. Fantastic to see Eddie again telling stories of the area around Davidoff. Brilliant as usual. Cannot wait to final head home and visit London again
As someone from the west I'm new to the world of cigars and even thinking about gentleman like habits and bahaviours. I've felt renewed value in doing things like smoking a cigar while sipping on a rum. Even questioning how I handle my interactions with other people by trying to be the most gentleman like. The world could use more gentlemen... thanks for all that you do brother.
This was an excellent view of Jermyn Street. I love the way Eddie Sahakian speaks English, no crutch words, easy for someone like me who is hard of hearing to understand. When I visit UK I will definitely be visiting the Davidoff shop and Jermyn Street.
21:30 Eddie has got a great idea here. I'd love to see you do a series with him (or someone else) getting fitted for a shirt, suit, or shoe. That dynamic could be a fun change of pace. It would be similar to Eric Jensen and his wife.
Kirby, thankyou again for such a lovely presentation with Mr Sahakian Jnr, couldn't resist that, what a Gentleman he is. I think that it about time you seriously thought about dual nationality. I know its always going to be a good day/evening when you have visited London and posted one of your now legendary videos. Simply amazing. Thankyou.
I love the composition of the story. You completely draw me in and lead my eyes and ears along the way. The Sahakians are true gentleman and are very delightful to listen to.
A gentleman is so much more than what he wears and that is why I enjoy this channel so much. Kirby Allison lives those ideals: from shining his own shoes to the proper care and attention given to articles of clothing to help you look and feel your best. Most importantly, he shows that the more effort you put into it, the more you get from that effort. Never is it about the cost, its about the quality and the value gained from that quality. A $500+ pair of shoes may seem a lot to pay but if you take the time to properly care for those shoes, they will last for years and years. Compare that with a $30 pair that lasts 6 months or even a $200 pair that last 1-2 years: The less expensive options just aren't made of materials that can be repaired nor do those materials respond to the care and attention given to shoes made of traditional materials. Maybe I am not getting my point across so maybe this will; a gentleman is never an a-hole.
A gentleman is defined by his values, that is what i enjoy so much about watching those two smoking cigars. It really shows what being a gentleman is about.
Buddy I don't know how you use your shoes but 200$ shoes can last me decades. I still have a 30$ leather shoes bought 7 years ago and they are in very good condition
Alright check out Eddie's swagger right at 8:01. How could you not want to be in that state of mind? To be that comfortable, walking that slow... You really don't see that every day.
Well you sure sound like a lot of fun Scott Williams. It's just a funny and enjoyable moment is all. I would say 'swaggering' was the accurate word choice here. Not sure what your angle is. Was my language not gentlemanly enough? Was Eddie not gentlemanly enough? What kind of bullshit exactly are you on about here?
Did my own walking tour of Jermyn Street recently, unfortunately I didn't have enough time to go in anywhere. I did find the time to go into Davidoff's however, and even got to meet Eddie! I really need to find the time to go back, both to Jermyn Street and Davidoff's.
The pair of you put the gent in gentleman. It is so soothing, in this world of pain and suffering, to escape by immersing oneself in your gentlemanly delectations. You are a saviour of sanity. Power to your elbow sir. Ps take Eddie for a shirt fitting, I can’t wait to watch!
That was great ! Top Tip : Only visit on a working day. On a Sunday, that whole district is hit by a zombie apocalypse : there is nobody around. A ghost town.
Most wonderful hand made soap ever stumbled upon: My wife wanted to duck in a soap shop in St Louis and since I was with her, I also went in. Not normally a stop I would enjoy. As I’m just looking around, I see one named “Whiskey, Leather, & Smoke”. I turned to the shop owner and asked “who would buy soap with such a name?” His reply was simple “smell it”. Largest soap purchase I ever made, and I wish I had bought more. The shop went out of business within the year, and I was not able to buy or ever find it again.
A great treat, Kirby! Thanks so much for bringing the Sahakians - and a dash of style & elegance, of course - to our screens. Most appreciative of the always-excellent content. Cheers!!
What a timely and fantastic video as I'll be in England for a few weeks next week! A trek around the areas you feature on your channel is one of the priorities, including an appointment for my first (and likely only) bespoke pair of shoes at George Cleverley!! I will be doing a split toe derby in some sort of oxblood/burgundy. I appreciate this tour around this wonderful place in London, it really helps get my bearings ready! I cannot wait! I also appreciate Eddie being a part of it. He exudes kindness and is someone to look up to for gentlemanly behavior.
Kirby, what a clip! Amazing, congrats. I lived in London for a couple of month back in 2014. In my strolls I marveled at the same stores you just visited, which of course were way out of my student budget. Thank you for the walk down memory lane. I really liked the portrait mode video sequence towards the end; quite the innovation. Likewise, your beautiful gray/green/blue suit, which you reviewed in a previous video. Best regards from Manizales, Colombia. Godbless.
Wonderful nostalgia! I was in menswear back in the 1980s. Everybody aspired to look good in this area. I was in South Moulton street, later on St. Christopher’s place, and finally, before the Duke of Marlborough’s estate decided to commercialize ( flog off…) London’s Covent Garden, I was there through thick and thin. Gentlemen’s attire is not what it used to be. All the money has gone abroad, sadly. So it was wonderful to see this nostalgia!
Enjoying your videos these week during our stay at Dukes Hotel. Our home in London when we visit for the past 50 years. You hit the mark with your suggestions for mens wear in St James and Mayfair. Thanks. Fellow Houstonian
I had 4 hours in London to visit while I was on a cruise and went to Taylor's of Old Bond Street first. As a shave enthusiast it was a must. Great shop.
Thank you so much for this. Wonderful memories of my time working in Jermyn Street. In and out of Whitfield and Paxton, trundling out of the office to the confectionery/tobacconist next to Turnbull & Asser on Bury Street for Spring Water (Buxtons). Charbonnel & Walker for posh chocs in Piccadilly Arcade, Floris - beautiful building - cocktails after work no idea what the establishment was called. Fortnum & Mason where you are served by young men in morning coates, lunch in Simpsons. Fabulous. Swimming at the RAC. Best time of my life!

A great truth about true class is that it's independent of one's means.
I feel Kirby is rather the death of everything he represents. It’s a LARP. The city gentleman is preserved here on Kirby like a walking museum.
