    I wanna go to Trinidad for a few things, doubles, a swizzle stick, and a tawa. I am from St Lucia but trini and Haitian foods are my favorite.

    Its two different kinds of pone that i know of one is cassava pone the most popular one and then sweet potato same way it's made sweet potato pumpkin and coconut with the same ingredients its delicious love them

    I add sweet potato & I dont use baking powder, but everything else I use in my cassava pone.

    Original long time pone had coconut sweetpotato cassava butter raisins black pepper spices and sugar. No milk was added

    Looks like a really easy to follow recipe. I no longer feel intimidated by trying to bake pone! But would it taste creamy as well as sweet without the condensed milk?

      I am from Paramiin, Trinidad , we made this phone the same way, but we add a cup of water into it, mostly moist and jub jubish with crunchy top and edges , I love you both, my Trini people. Peace and best wishes. Blessings

    This consistency looks just like my granny pone (Best pone ever). I will definitely try, my first and only time making pone was an EPIC fail, I'm still heckled to this day about it and it was about a decade ago, lol I'm hoping this will redeem me.

    The pone looks good. I know you all said to grate the coconut etc on the fine side of the grater, but yours clearly isn't. I'm assuming it's fine to grate it on the bigger side then?

    I didn't see the main ingredient, bayleaf.... 👈 🤪 Issa must brings real flavor 😍 I blend it in my sugar and I love using white sugar especially when I get nice pumkin. It brings a lovely color to the pone... 👈 Yall was extremely close to my recipe 😍

    Put it in d processor and powder milk flavor no liquid milk.. when it too dry it makes a crust on top

    Gosh, I love Pone but only 2 things that stops me from making it....
    yup, grating Cassava and Coconut.
    Bought a piece at Linda's bakery, line was long, I couldn't wait, by the time I've reached to cash, my bag was empty.😀

    You should use a 2" x 2" Baking Pans so that all 4 corners would be baked

    Instead a swizzle stick or immersion blender, couldn't you use a Kitchen Aid stand mixer? (No, I'm not a sales rep for Kitchen Aid.) :-)

    In today's world people can afford to buy more things. Before you might only have cassava now sweet potatoe , Edoes, or pumpkin is available. Before no fruits were added because, there were expensive. Some people are even adding eggs.

    You guys kill me. I am here in Us for the past forty-two years. I cannot forget the way we said things. I wasn't spanked, I got licks, with whatever my mom had in her hands at that moment. If she's cooking, it would be the pot spoon. If she's in her garden using the cutlass, I'd be getting a plans, ( I'm not sure I spelled that right) I am alive and kicking howeve, I lived to tell the tale, come to think about it, I wouldn't have it any other way.
