I have been making pone since was about 9 yrs old .My great grandmother was my coach and I never see her put carnation milk nor baking powder in her pone.I do it all the time without the added improvision that person do now and I have perfect pone all the time.

The original recipe for pone comes with black pepper over the years it has been omitted because a lot of people don't like it their pone, just as macaroni pie isn't made with eggs anymore

You need to use the juices from the vegetables and omit the evaporated milk and it is pepper mash in a little water it ain't have no ginger and no mixing with no electricity blender get the cassava or potato pone ain't got no pumpkin in it only corn pone to moisten the corn stop that nonsense
