Hi, Spice 😊. I love pone , I love your kitchen, the color theme you use is gorgeous. I am a huuuuuge fan and love and enjoy all your videos immensely. I do catering for wedding and all functions , so you know I love cooking and baking. I put sweet potatoes in mine . Why did you leave it out ? I will like you to give me a tip why ? Sometimes I leave the pumpkin out sometimes just to experiment. I know the pumkin gives it that moistened gooey texture. Great Recipe love and fabulous video . Keep up the good job, looking foward for your new video......Denise.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Never added butter to my pone, also never press out the liquid because it going to get back wet an I prefer grated and not blended the consistency come out differently
I must give u a thumbs up .. thank u . My cassava pon came out supper delicious and( perfect if I can say that). I didnt use pumpkin but after looking at your video as the 2nd option I noticed u used baking powder and ginger which the 1st option video didn't use has ingredients. So much thanks for this Caribbean flavor 😋 My first try at this and im loving it thanks to ur easy recipe steps
Your recipe I will try... I'm a born USA "Tyler Texas girl with creole roots" but my guy is a St. Lucian... so I'm going to surprise him with pone... so excited!!!!
Yes lystra a pinch to bring out the sweetness but in the old days wasn't black pepper it was put a crushed hot pepper and a table spoon of water and use the pepper water to give it a kick and we never put pumpkin in casava pone or regular milk we grate the coconut put water in it and squeeze out the water and use that for the liquid I don't follow these modern day Cooks
Hmmmm!!!! in my home in Guyana the nostalgia of creole food like cassava is was always a conversation piece. Definitely different especially the extra creaming and baking powder...hey TO-MA-TOE ....TO-MAY-TOE lol.....
I have been making pone since was about 9 yrs old .My great grandmother was my coach and I never see her put carnation milk nor baking powder in her pone.I do it all the time without the added improvision that person do now and I have perfect pone all the time.
Yes. The original pone made by the long time people had ginger coconut sweetpotato spices blackpepper pumpkin cassava raisins sugar and butter. No milk was used

I so love all your food designs. I am sorry but I have to steal that idea from you.
The original recipe for pone comes with black pepper over the years it has been omitted because a lot of people don't like it their pone, just as macaroni pie isn't made with eggs anymore
Omg what type of pone is that😳 you pressing out the natural moisture. to add milk😳 ginger baking powder and black pepper in pone🤦🏽♀️No thanks will pass on this one.
@@alleynearlene Yes, cassave pone always does. These people here can only talk out of their asses. I don't see them posting anything. It came out great, don't you think?

Was the cassava ground in its frozen form or at room temperature?
💞 your style and I enjoy preparing your recipes!

Hey Arlene I love this recipe! I also need one for sweet bread.

This looks dry traditional pone has more liquid in it. The Naparima cook book has a great recipe that's moist and tastes similar to old time days

Where do I find the Naparima cook book? Is it in northameraica or caribbean?.
This is the caribbean way to make cassava pone. I like it this way. More tasty. Yummy.
Why press the liquid from the ingredients but still add liquid?
Why put in the liquid and have to take it out?
I was thinking d same thing and what you
