I’m probably the only dude in the world with an Xbox controller that is updated thru my Xbox, will connect to the deck, but the light continues flashing and won’t fully conmect
Tipish type thing: the Bluetooth setting in the Steam GUI is NOT affiliated in any way with the Bluetooth setting in the desktop mode. I somehow flipped this on the desktop side and then could not figure out why I wasnt able to connect any controllers wirelessly on the steam side... and it's how I ended up here. Or... just... you know, dont disable bluetooth on the desktop side. It does make me wonder how "off" bluetooth is in the Steam GUI when the OS switch is the ultimate say of on/off.

Xbox controller still won't work for me. Updated it on PC but won't connect. Ps4 connected just fine. Elite controller won't do anything either even with a dongle inserted into the dock.

The Nintendo switch controllers seem to suck.. everytime I connect it to the deck if another controller is connected, it's just disconnects while playing randomly..
It's not necessary. Just gotta pair it with the Switch again. However, if you want to pair with the Deck again afterwards, make sure you "forget" it in the bluetooth settings of the Deck so it can see it when pairing again.
so much more customizable?! 3:30 and yet you don't have the newest Elite Series 2 controller... U don't know even know what customizable is until u try this controller... Everything is out of the box adjustable or replaceable. They even give you parts for everything from 4 types of thumb sticks to 4 rear paddles (useful if you have 1 hand) and sensitivity for sticks and triggers 3 settings each. IN STEAM , pc, Ras pi whatever i can mod any button to whatever even rgb on the logo is adjustable with local firmware. Also most comfy controller ever..
Excellent video as always. My only problem with Steam Controller on Steam Deck is that the BT option on the SC is pretty laggy. We need that SC2!!!

the wii u pro controller works great! just click on the pair button on the controller and connect to the deck by bluetooth.

The first thing anyone should do is make sure your firmware is up to date on your controller if not it may not work.

If your having problems make sure you have Bluetooth on in desktop mode.

Yeah. That's what putting it in Bluetooth mode does. But you need to make sure the firmware is updated by plugging it into a PC with steam running.
