Cool video as usual. Let´s find out if these machines can rock as good as they look.
Yep, they can :) There was a video on Glenn's channel with me playing the 22-fret AT
@@MaxSoloMusic Ok.Who´s Glenn? Link?
@@Gulosa1976 Glenn Fricker. Here's the video - ruclips.net/video/-c5y3onqX28/видео.html
@@MaxSoloMusic Not bad for a guy. So, from what i understood, you choosed the Dullahan to play your part ? From all your entire guitar collection? Must be good then. 5*****
@@Gulosa1976 haha! Glenn said metal will do and I already had the track composed for a detailed video. I don't usually play stuff like that. As it was specifically written for that guitar, it deserved to be in the Glenn's video as well
Ooh I'm excited for this one. The best thing about this guitar being that everybody who doesn't know it will be *hopefully* blown away by the fact that it is a harley benton 😁
It rocks, that's true!
First time I have viewed one of your reviews. Nice job. Keep up the great work.
Hello! I just subscribed. Thank you for the honest and thorough breakdowns on your product reviews! Keep it up! I'm seriously considering purchasing of these guitars. The quality, features and price are hard to beat!
This is the exact review that I was after, thank you. I'm ordering one very soon!
this channel is gold, incredibly sensible reviews. keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for the video. I could hear a bit of a difference between the old and the new versions, but nothing too major. So glad they have added the base plate on the bridge on the new versions & the gig bag is great, just the right size for a headless guitar.
Great detailed review. I am also waiting for the roasted maple iceblue version. Cant wait to get it in my hands and play it. But it looks like they have done a good job of making important changes in the bridge, neck and body which were design flaws before
Nice Vid! I’ve been waiting for my Left Handed HB Fusion-T HH since April of this year!! Really hoping it ships soon but guessing I won’t get it till closer to Christmas, LOL! Have a Great Day and please keep up the Good Work! Cheers from Salem, Ohio USA!!
Hey Max! Just wanted to put this out there but thanks a lot for your videos!! You keep me going!
Thanks a lot!
Certainly worthy updates.
Ty for reviewing
After I have watched this video.I'm so happy that I wait for the update version.Hahaha.Thx
Amazing video as usual!
Thanks again!
I picked up the black one. Hope this is as good as it was in your video.
I also ordered the roasted maple neck version and still waiting for it. Let's see who gets it first ;)
Необычные штуки!)))) Блин, Макс, как хорошо, что ты не хирург! Копаешь всегда до самой сути!)))
A good one! Need to get one too
Max Solo! The best reviewer. As for the new bridge pickup position, the new 24fret edition has a more brighter sound. Personally i prefer this., more bite and treble! Nice for mid to high gain sounds and drop tunings.
Nice video !
I'm glad I picked up one of those "old" 22 fret models before they changed them to 24. Nice review mate.
Apart from the neck pickup placement (which can be negated with the tone knob or EQ), why would you be happy to miss on all the updates?
@@ErebosGR It's the first time I hear you can emulate another neck position with the tone knob or EQ. Maybe you can makeup the sound a little bit but I'm pretty sure you can't make a 22 fret neck pickup the same as a 24. The updates are fine but I don't have any real complain about mine. It's not that stable as my ibanez prestige which needs to be tuned maybe twice or three times for every set of strings. My HB needs to be tuned every time I pick it up, but it is stable enough to stay in tune for one full session. That's my main 'complain'. It has some other minor flaws but I don't miss any feature at all. It sounds great, it plays great and I love the neck pickup position. This video just confirmed my thoughts.
The fundamentals are just so much weaker on the 24
I like what HB are doing but don't I like the design of the body, I hope they end up doing a desing like strandberg or NK
Good overview .
Thanks Rus!
HI, so when's the big review coming out? Feel like these guitars sound a bit different but can't really pinpoint all the things from these short demos alone
To my ears, the updated version sounds somewhat brighter. idk why its brighter sounding tho
Hello, just awesome video man!I bought a old 22 ver few month before but the hole on the head had drive me crazy when everytime i am changing my strings, and so sad that i had to return it!!now it seem fix the problem on the new 24 ver! I decided to give it one more chance because of your video!is there any advice for me?thanks you!keep going man
Yep, changing strings on Dullahans is a challange to say the least. It's slightly better on the updated version since they've made those holes at the 'headstock' slightly wider. Still with all those tiny screws in the locking mechanism and the bridge it's tricky enough. I figured I gonna set everything once and never touch it again :) Just play
the pickups sound like much higher output on the old version, I don't think its necesarily just the position of the pickup changing.
Hello, very nice videos, when a full review of this headless guitar? Thank you!
Soon! Already filmed. Needs editing :)
Hi Max.
What about the neck profile. Even thought it says Modern C Neck profile, the previous version had more like Stratocaster style neck profile.
Modern C is the Strat's neck profile. Dullahans and Fusions have the same profile
Great review. The guitar is really attractive whi those updates, I've been looking it for a while. If they had a 7 string FT I'd have already bought it. Just don't know what's the thing with satin finish, I hate it. I'd pay more to have a gloss finish
Thanks Marcelo. I'll have detailed videos on both models. The AT has a gloss finish
Can you review also the Steinberger Guitars Gt-Pro Deluxe?
I'd love to. Steinberger is now owned by Gibson and they aren't the easiest folks to talk to
Need all those upgrades 22 fret hss model DO IT
You know those fine tuning thumbscrews, found on trem systems? I wonder if they would fit into some of the adjustment hardware, either at the headpiece or the bridge, rather than using allen keys.
I don't think there's a way to attach something like that. At least not without some hardcore modifications
@@MaxSoloMusic oh my bad, my idea is meant to be a very minor modification. All the default hardware stays, except for the grub screws. Thereby, potentially eliminating the need for Allen keys 👍 I'm going to order some thumbscrews for my own headless, just to try it out 😄
I really love my old 22-fret FT, but now I want a new one! Maybe I'll wait for a seven strings one...
I want the roasted maple version :) Although, I kinda like the sound of 22-fret guitars better
@@MaxSoloMusic so do I! But I must say that the upgrade of the tuning keys support plate is a great thing
I know what guitar I'm investing my money in next, whenever that is
Black body + roasted maple neck + trem? Am I being too greedy? I have a Fusion 2 with the roasted neck and it's great! Just don't like that baby blue colour for the Dullahan - seems an odd choice.
Same. I'm hoping soo much for some more color options with roasted maple neck and also trem bridge. I think Harley Benton has a chance to bust the bank with Dullahans, and I wish that indeed happens!
@@oskarwroniewicz Let's wait and see! If it sells well, which I'm sure it will, we may see new colors. Just the way they've done it with the other models. And the more we talk about what colors we want, the higher the chance they'll hear us!
@@MaxSoloMusic Maybe some natural finishes? Flame maple, or even better - an open pore ash! Damn I would kill for one of those! Can't wait to see what they come up with
Max Solo Music I really hope they come up with new colors for the Fusion II models!!
Is it difficult to lower the strings on the Guitar.??
It is not. But the saddles on Dullahans are a bit of a pain in the ass. They don't go lower than a certain point and sometimes it's not enough. Hope they fix that at some point
@@MaxSoloMusic
2 years has gone and we continue with the same problema....
Personally I will get the 22 fret, add a pickguard and convert it into all single coil guitar
Is it me, or does it look like there are pretty obvious file marks around the edges of the frets?
Not more than on any other guitar

We need a white one
I'd buy one!
Is it me? Or does the old one sounds better, more bottom end and warmer sound.
At the neck pickup - yes, it does sound fuller
@@MaxSoloMusic oh, nice to know. Thanks 🙏
22 has more basses and a fuller sound because of 22 frets and pickup position.
Exactly!
Hi f.e.
I ordered one and it has Flaws all over the place. Pots are loose. Bridge is not grounded. Action is high enough to put a pencil under. Bridge design is terrible. You loosen the set screws on the side then you "should" be able to spin the brass saddles up and down. Tool was not included and is not something that can be bought. 2 of my saddles are seized and will not turn. The manufacturer of the bridge refuses to help. And now i'm battling with Thomann to get help and that has been like pulling teeth. I highly recommend skipping this guitar
You look a bit like James Labrie
That's a first :)
I'm pretty sure you've got a cherry picked one. 2 out of 2 I've received were total shit, and I mean total.
Ridiculous fretjob: on the first one the frets weren't polished; on the second one they murdered the sides of the neck and on both there were at least 5 or 6 spots per side where the wood filler on the side of the frets had shrinked leaving horrendous holes. Also the first one wouldn't stay in tune even if cranking the locks at the nut (which caused multiple snapped strings because of the beautiful design where it's the screw itself, and not a metal plate, pressing on the string). And hear this: on the second one i got, the high E strings wouldn't even stay in its freaking slot on the nut, it would always slip closer to the B string or just completely fall off the fretboard on the other side.
And how could I not talk about the tuners? 4 out of 6 basically bricked and impossible to turn after one day because, as I found out, they were mounted backwards since the black tuning barrels clearly have a black ring on the inside signaling the end of the thread.
Also the beautiful bridge saddles, already mangled from the factory because the tech had to use a screwdriver exactly on where the strings lay (because of the shitty design, the only way to adjust action is by turning the brass saddle: some of them are easy enough to turn by hand, some others need a screwdriver which just eats the saddle itself, it honestly flakes like chocolate under a knife). The tuners also had play turning in either direction: this fact, added to the fact that the ratio is waaaay to low and the fact that some tuners are really hard to turn, made tuning the machine a nightmare.
To top it all off, mine came without one of the silver washers on the bridge and without d'addario strings. A really pleasant experience all in all, there wasn't a single damned thing right with the instrument. And all of this after I told the customer service to be really careful with the second instrument they would send me and explaining every single problem I had had with the first one. Harley Benton is really, really terrible, both in QC and design.
And it wasn't even my only bad experience with HB: I also sent back 2 HBZ-2005 because of horrible dead spots (where the note wouldn't basically ring at all) and because of crackling jack pots.
This is not entry level, this is shit for people who don't know any better.
Wow, that sounds like you hit a jack pot with those two! I'm in the middle of making detailed videos on both right now and brass saddles are bad, as you mentioned. That's definitely the weakest part of these instruments. I played 6 Dullahans and none of them had the amount of issues you've faced. Hope you sent them back cause that's worth an investigation. That's definitely not normal. I believe the guitars I received were randomly picked. No way to tell 100% but multiple pieces of evidence point at that. I'm sorry you had a negative experience
I usually have a great ear for hearing tonal difference between guitars/basses but I can't tell between last model and the 2020
Wanted to add maybe in person I would just not on my phone on a yt video
If you cannot hear difference you need to check your heaing. It's obvious difference.
