Keeping it all in perspective, it's not that bad. Better than the old Rubies stormtrooper armor. A low bar, I know. Many years ago, my stormtrooper helmet alone was $250 for a kit. A full costume will be well over $1000 even if you build it yourself, and you'd still need to buy a mannequin to display it. For the intended purpose (seasonal decoration), this animatronic gets the job done. The movie props were hand-made. Those specific shapes are just not compatible with low cost mass production. Screen-accuracy demands vacu-forming, which is labor intensive ($$$).
Thanks for the review, and especially showing how it goes together. If I had somewhere to display him, I'd be happy to get one and just replace the voice box with something else. I do really like the movement to the head. And with the arms poseable, he's basically a massive action figure. I'll have to find your Vader and Yoda vids now because I'm curious. This guy is the first I heard of them selling Star Wars figures. If they did a 3PO I'd make room to go with the R2 I'm building.

Okay, I've now watched your other Star Wars vids. I also watched the Mars Attacks one. It was disappointing that there wasn't a single "Ack ACK!" from him. From what you showed in the helmet vid, I think it's absolutely possible to use a Black Series helmet. Here's how I would do it... Take advantage of the fact that the Black Series helmets come apart and are wearable by a person. I would get a piece of square steel tubing that is the same size as the original. Then I'd add a wood shape around it that was roughly head shaped, like a mannequin head. Wood is light and very strong, ideal for this kind of application. Then you can make sure that the neck appearance is good, and probably give it a foam collar that works as a neck filler. Then just put the Black Series helmet around the wood head the same way you would yourself. If it can hold together well enough to wear it around, then the movements of the animatronic shouldn't be a problem for it. That's how I'd at least start the process from the info I currently have though. Not seeing parts in front of me, I can only speculate. Steel tubing is available at most hardware stores. Just measure the original, inside and outside dimensions so you can find the same thing. A piece maybe 12 inches long would probably work. @@YakSquad so I got the nerf stormtrooper blaster but it’s heavier than I thought. It’s not going to work but I could get a shoulder strap for it.
@@ViewsFromTheCrypt-lm2kz I zip ties my guns.
@@YakSquad how heavy is the one you have? I don’t think zip ties will work on m mine
I just did another video on all them together. Yak squad !!!!!!
@@YakSquad I just checked it out! They look great together!!
Darth is sold out . Glad I got him coming.
When did he drop again? I've been checking daily for since June, LOL. Don't know how I missed it.
Please give us a clone trooper!!!!!!
I'd pay up for a general grievous lol
@@Pawnfaz409 yes!!! iThey really could make a Jabba the hut made out of that same latex material. They made Frankenstein and Lily witch out of. It would look awesome with that same green color.
@@ViewsFromTheCrypt-lm2kz so much potential!! What a time to be alive! Lol. I appreciate the time you take in your videos and like I said look fwd to seeing everything you upload.
@@Pawnfaz409 Thank you so much my friend! I appreciate you!
I would so get Chewbacca
@@flex_007 that would be awesome! R2 and C3P0 would be nice too!
I would worry that the plastic would yellow
@@General.Audience I think it depends on how it is used. In direct sunlight and over time, that might be the case. If properly cared for and stored in climate control area, I think it will take a long time for it to turn yellow. It’s half off right now at Home Depot so at $150, it’s def worth buying!
Forget about a bobo feet .They better come out with a Jar Jar 😂
I got the 4' toy version off Facebook for $100.
@@scarecrow_9895 not bad at all!
to be honest if i had an extra $300 id see if it could me modified to be a costume ... less work then 3d printing the whole thing...
@@commanderwolf_gaming5191 that would be cool!
Or buy readily available costumes which are movie accurate ;)
I'm seeing a lot of cosplayers getting these and cannibalizing them for their own armor.
@@CaptRobertApril I bet! It’s definitely worth it! Not anything on the market for this price range.
I like this, but I may have to modify it with more generic stormtrooper phrases.
@@meierb75 I agree!
I am doing another sandtrooper .
@@YakSquad you should do the snow trooper!
Totally different cat.
This guy is definitely an employee of Laser Moon and is ready to participate in the Life Day turned Christmas parade.
(Watch Auralnauts Star Wars if you don't get the reference.)
I will def. check it out!
@@Predator-yc5up Creepio thanks you and it looks forward to his completion of the second Singularity engine Long Live Han Ziegler
oof no, they're definitly NOT doing ones based on actual human people. So curb the expectations of a han/luke/leia one ever coming. Buuuut, i can see C3PO, Chewie, Mando, etc
@@Cargo_Bay I agree! Good point! I can see boba fett!
@@ViewsFromTheCrypt-lm2kz don’t get me wrong. It would be rad if they can do human ones. But a Home Depot semi animatronic based off of the likeness of an actor might be too costly, if not creepy. But yes. I’d buy a Han Solo one 😭
Pepsi stuff
@@YakSquad 👍🏽👍🏽
Chest looks wrong, and voice is terrible, otherwise it's nice, that Chest is so badly done. Can't understand why
@@mackpowell-vy1qj it could be a tad larger. The prop is very slim.
It’s ok to acknowledge it’s not screen-accurate, but then I wanna say: in 2024, after hundreds of different stormtrooper figures and statues have existed, this should be 100% accurate. There isn’t a good excuse for that. Clearly, this is a quality piece, but dang.

Half the reviews on HD Website are terrible - for $300, I'll pass
@@lewismiller4933 I can see your point but he will be a collectible. For this price for a life size trooper that you can modify, you just can’t find that anywhere else for this price point.
Ummmm.....
Since when is STAR WARS considered horror/Halloween decor?
@@billy1673 it’s Christmas and Halloween decor from Home Depot. They threw in a Santa hat and candy cane and a Death Star candy bowl as accessories. They do many characters like this including many Disney ones. It’s just added for the fun for the holidays.
Nice review. For 300 dollars though, I think it looks a bit...anorexic. Looks like a Tatooine trooper who's gone without food for far too long while waiting on the news that the war is over. lol. If it's possible to beef him up a little with filler (paper suffing) I think he'd pull of the look just fine. But as he stands, he's too thin and that bugs me a little for the price.
@@davidh4548 I see what you are saying. Due to the plastic molds, I didn’t see a way to beef this one up. They should drop one with different weight looks to give them an individual look!
That chest plate is off.
@@elusivelectron yes it’s not movie accurate but you won’t find anything like it for the price points it needs some modifications for sure.
For 300$ thats cheap compared to like life sized replicas or whatever
Looks good to me other than the narrow shoulders. True it's not 100% screen accurate, but close enough.
You have very low standards to be impressed by this lol! IF YOUR A REAL STAR WARS FAN save yourself $ and buy a movie accurate trooper costume and put it on a mannequin.
@@gerardofollano8417 I respect your opinion but for the price point, it’s really not that bad. Have to see it in person to truly understand but I get it. There are many that agree with you.
I have a pair along with Vader. Im pretty sure c3po. R2d2 boba fett coming 2025

@@jamison74 well I’m 47 years old and have been a fan since a kid. Trust me I know how to say all the names. I’m sure you didn’t want to know all those details but that’s the reason.
Get it in clearance after Halloween
@@mikehisey2631 well here is the thing. It is a Christmas and Halloween item. Normally Home Depot doesn’t out these on sale until Christmas time. So that’s a while to wait. He might sell out by then and there won’t be any left. It’s a gamble.
