Dear sir, you have here a beautiful car and certainly in its best version. Best because euro spec + manual gearbox, that's great. The euro bumpers keep the line clean and stylish (US spoils it a bit). The manual gearbox is very rare (between 330 and 340 according to some sources) and make this car very enjoyable to revs, those ZF have a wonderful mechanical feeling. The interior is fantastic, although the varnished wood is not what originally was, I prefer the original matte finish, very stylish but also awfully fragile, this varnished should hold better hopefully. Thanks for sharing, Quattroporte III videos are too rare, the last hand built Maserati, a fabulous engine and real style.
This Colour Combination and a ZF 5 Speed is like the One i DetaileD @ EXOTIC CAR in CocOnut Grove, FL in 1984 and have WANTED One like this ever since. This One's "Long Gone" no doubt ~ GOod Luck to me! JDF NM/FL USA 🇮🇹
I'm long out the trade. The only Maserati I ever drove was a Sebring International, 1965 model the one that was on their stand at the Motor Show. I got my paws on it mid 70s, for a short drive. It's a different world of motoring and definitely a pulse quickener.
I've got a 1986 QPIII with just over 70k miles on the clock. Superb car, handles really well for the giant car that it is. Interior is stellar. Mine is a 3 speed Chrysler auto with a shift kit installed for better performance. Drove it around Sear's Point raceway when Maserati came back to the US of A. Big sedan 4 wheel drifts nicely when pushed. FORZA magazine even mention the car (#13 sticker on race day) in an issue back in the day. The styling is in my mind an Armani suit in steel. Just elegant and muscular. MPG is terrible, but to be expected, 8 city and 10 Highway.... I managed 6 mpg last time I filled it up, but it is a glorious ride! Italian Rolls Royce. It is just lovely. "Sculpitori d'auto" is what a poster in my garage says 🙂
i did body and paint work on some back in the 80's for a Maserati/Ferrari/Alfa dealer in NY what i remember about the quattroporte was it's revving and exhaust sound , also drove them with the manual transmission it was awesome , now I found one missing engine and trans. for only $1400 I'm thinking to buy it and put a GM LS 5.3 v8 6 speed manual
