When my dad was in Vietnam, he told me about a market in plekieu that would sell small monkeys in cages with the head sticking out. The people would buy it, beat it to death over the head with a small hammer, then eat the brain right out of the skull.
Next do "Monkey Balls" please! I see these a lot in sushi restaurants as appetizers. They are usually tempura mushrooms stuffed with some kind of filling, such as spicy tuna and cream cheese. They are delicious!
Just binge watch his vids ... Research him and Charles Preston, the camera man, who has his own channel. Google Guinness Book of World Records Hiroyuki Terada. The sushi place we go to used to make this dish with a mushroom stuffed with crab salad, then tempura battered. There was no avocado, or spicy tuna, but this looks great.
This is the best version ever. Ive never seen it done this well. Most just cut the avocado in half then put a little spicy tuna in the pit hole and deep fry, and thats it. No crab no humping of the tuna, or cutting and slicing. I never even wanted to try it before, but this version, of course I would.
First I thought, oh no, please! I hope that is just a name for a roll stuffed with something that looks like monkey brain. And I am so glad it is! Good Afternoon to all the monkeys out there, you are safe :)
I love how every video I see him start off with. Yes it's very easy 😂 then proceed to show off years of sushi mastery. Maybe one day I'll reach that level
I'm so glad this wasn't real monkey brains. I almost didn't click on it. The end product looked amazing, and I'd definitely order it. Thanks for another great video Hirosan & Charles.
Watching Hiro-san fill the avocado reminded me of a British dish called a Scotch Egg. For anyone who doean't know what a Scotch Egg is, it's a hard-boiled egg wrapped in raw sausage meat, then coated in breadcrumbs and fried until the sausage meat is cooked. It can be eaten either hot or cold, and is often taken on picnics.
This looks amazing. I'm now hungry so I'm going to fix myself a couple ghost pepper and jalapeno grilled cheese sandwiches, and wash them down with a couple cold, and frosty beverages. My wife, well she's going to have to fend for herself on this one. Lol.
@@Shadow61616 If you think ghost pepper and jalapeno grilled cheese sandwiches sound like they'll be too hot, you should try the homemade spaghetti sauce I make. It has several peppers with different levels of heat, various vegetables, and a combination of spicy sausage and ground beef. See, I just can't help myself. I'm a big fan of spicy foods.
Good Afternoon Hiroyuki San. You are one of my favorite Authentic Japanese Sushi Chef. I recently subscribed and was amazed and admired by your skills and dedication, when it comes to cooking. I see that you are taking viewers request in making sushi rolls and I have a challenge for you. I went to a local authentic Japanese restaurant in my town and saw them serving a raw lobster and shrimp sushi roll. I have no idea what it is called but looked amazing. My challenge for you is to attempt to make the most amazing and delicious raw lobster and sweet shrimp roll possible. If you can’t, that is fine also. Thank you so much for giving me the appreciation of making sushi rolls and to cook more during this Pandemic.
I love watching the videos. If I could put in a fan request it would be for a more slow up close ASMR experience. Not only tasty looking but super relaxing!

When I was younger growing up in Hawaii my grandma was from japan and she would roast the nori before making anything with the nori. So I was just curious. Keep up the awesome job, I really enjoy your channel.
Brains and eggs and head cheese are a southern delicacy. Show us what Japanese would make from a freshly butchered hog's head. My family raised and butchered their own hogs. Nothing went to waste.
Just call it “crab and tuna,” please. Now I have to go floss my brain to erase the images of the real one. Don’t do that to me when I’m thinking about food.
OMG that looks good, and my girlfriend would love it (she, for some reason, doesn't like rice)! I may have to have a go at it. Tricky bit would be finding some tuna around here...not easy unless the Albacore are in close. Thank you, chef!
I've only ever been to one place that did spicy tun with little chunks over it being shred up but I liked it a lot more. Should give it a try little cubes with spicy mayo.
Can you make this roll Ceviche hamachi, avocado, fried shallots, and chipotle lime sauce topped with red snapper, sriracha, micro cilantro, hawaiian pink salt and a wedge of lime

Eating the brain or spinal cord of any creature is a bad idea. Nerve tisssue contains certain proteins that have to have their molecules arranged in a specific shape in order to interact with other chemicals in the body. Sometimes these proteins get constructed the wrong way, and the organism's nervous system can't function. And these incorrect molecules are called prions. When they contact molecules that are the shape they're supposed to be, the "good" protein rearranges itself into the un-usuable configuration, and the animal can't live. This is not like a virus or bacteria that can be killed by cooking, The only way to avoid prion damage is to not eat any prions. But I don't think there are any prions in avocados, tuna, or crab meat.

Hi Chef Hiro. My family loves your channel. Can you do a episode to that uses shrimp to prepare various Japanese dishes? And also other episodes that showcases various seafood from around the United States? Fun fact they used to feed lobster and crabs to slaves because they considered it cheap food
During medieval times most peasants ate fish as it was seen as poor people food because it was so readily available like lobster and crab.
Fun fact, i have to paint the chimney..
